  • Love this workout regime bro!!!

  • Hey man. Great job! Very proud of your dedication to fitness, and even more so that you're sharing your love with your son and other young people. Funny enough, you and I are around the same age (dob 01/31/68), and I too am very passionate about fitness. I'm a Fitness Coach in NYC. Curious, where are you guy from? Maybe we could work together at some point in the future. It's a joy to be 44 and feeling as great as I did 20 years ago. Blessings to you and your family!

  • YO BRO,

I WILL VOTE FOR YOU PRESIDENT.

    2PAC AND BIGGIE SMALL

  • Hey, how much should I do this workout on a regular basis, and how much time should I put into it? My friends tell me to workout like 1-3 hrs each day for 3 days a week, but I dont really know.

  • how often should i do this workout? and does this work out activate the after buner affect??

  • Hey, I know for push-ups you normally want to keep your whole body straight. But for a lot of the burpees videos I've seen, people seem to bend, like humping the ground or something, when they get to the push up. If I try keeping my body straight during the push up part of a burpee, I notice it slows it down a lot if I try keeping my body straight. Am I over-thinking this?

  • @rodneymullenpro Hey Rodney, I think when yo uare doing the burpee, go all the way to the ground. A little tougher but it will ensure that your hips do not sag (sagging hips will can put too much strain on the lower back. - Funk

  • I like how you have biggie on playing.much love

  • How long would it take to get your body if your 15 and your doing this workout?

  • @lebabritboy months prob years.

  • @MrKushy45 and if you are a ectomorph btw i em training for 5 months already

  • Hey Marcroops, how long should it take to start losing fat by doing this?

I'm currently 5 foot 8 or 9, and 183 pounds. I play football and I run and lift weights 2-4 times a week. I'm in decent shape; my max bench press is around 165. However, I do have that annoying stomach and I've been dying to get rid of it!

  • @ 3: 02, the teen is like WTF dad..really?

  • hey marcroops, i loved you video

will this workout be effective for someone like me who is 80 kgs(176 pounds) to lose weight and at the same time build muscles.

is this workout one of those which will help even an overweight teen to get a beach body? (what i am saying is will this workout help me lose weight and burn fat and at the same time become strong)

  • I just watched this video yesterday, and when I woke up this morning, I was very sore ! Does that mean I'm out of shape ?...

  • funk jr is so lucky to have a dad like funk roberts sr

  • ur so underrated =[

  • @marcroops hey i dont have any kettlebell. Is there any subtitute to it?

  • What do you mean by side plank reach unders right ?? Should right arm be on the ground or in the air??

  • dam bro i thought u would be like 20 not 40! this video gives me motivation thx

  • can this workout also exceptable for 13 years old?

  • how many sets u think i should do for abs and do i have to do it evryday ?

  • True, i started training at 15 Funk i was probably around 5'10 i grew to 6'2 so didnt stunt my growth. I hope i look like you do when im 43

  • Epic Dad is epic.

Thanks to poeple like you the fate of the future generations isnt being fat couch potatoes ..lol

  • marcroops i need help i have abs and my arms and shoulders are big but my chest is not ? have you any tips or advice on how to get my chest in proportion with my arms and shoulders ?? im 17 btw thanks in advance.

  • @DarenNolan687 Hey Daren, Try my Rapid Fire Chest Workout and get the program as well - Workout #1 -- RAPID FIRE ABS AND CHEST WORKOUT - I will send you the video (it's on my channel) and link to the kickass program 1. Windshield Wiper Pushups 2. Abs In and Outs 3. Jumping Jack Pushups 4. Abs Hip Thrusts 5. Regular Push Ups 6. Abs V-Up Toe Touches 7. Spiderman Hold Push Ups 8. Side Plank Raise L 9. Clockwise Pushups -- Counter Clockwise Push Ups 10. Side Plank Raise R
  • @marcroops Thanks for the help bro im gonna try everything and let you know if its working :)

  • @DarenNolan687 im 14 and i have the same problem ive been focusing on my abs and chest but my chest hasnt developed much

  • My abs look like that kid's abs, but mine are worth more because I don't have the black genes advantage. I kid, I kid.. sort of.

  • @LloydChristmas777 That could be the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. HARD WORK!!!!! It is NOT wise to use the Black genes card, everytime you see someone that is black with a great body...it's HARD WORK genes...If GENES are your agument explain this...- Nearly 36 percent of black Americans are obese—much more than other major racial or ethnic groups, About 29 percent of Hispanics and 24 percent of whites are obese - that throws your gene theory out the window! BE SMART-WORK HARD

  • @marcroops, I'm a bit surprise that you would insult me, but okay. Are you really telling me that different races don't have different variations of bone and muscle growth? If so, then you're in denial as studies show otherwise. I don't need race cards; I just need statistics and facts.

Your facts about obesity aren't about genes; it's an issue of affluence. No one is born destined to be obese, but there are those born with physical advantages. So your comparison is actually apples and oranges.

  • @LloydChristmas777 I didn't mean to insult you Lloyd, I just get sick of hearing the BLACK GENES advantage. Not sure why that even had to be part of the conversation, but everyone has an opinion. So sorry I insulted you. Your point is taken.

    Funk

  • @marcroops, Well in retrospect, I shouldn't have brought it up, so sorry for that. Even if this conversation ended badly, I would have still watched your videos because I enjoy them, LOL. Best wishes.

  • @LloydChristmas777 HEY CHRISTMAS - Let's "HUG IT OUT" - It's all good, everyone has their opinion and we don't always have to agree with everything to have respect for people. I am still thankful for you watching my vids and please continue to comment - good, bad or ugly...well appreciated. Have an awesome day...Funk

  • @marcroops, I wouldn't deny that anyone with a great body got it from hard work, so if that's what you think, then that's a strawman point on your part. I'm saying some people are at an advantage.

  • Excellent advice.

  • Who shot ya? (8) great song by Biggie!

  • how long will it take for u to see results?

  • yo funk, would p90x be a good workout for teen (I'M 15)

  • Dammit it, im 15 years old, this shit really motivated me to get ripped, so i started doing the kettlebell squats and tore both of my hamstrings....someone's unfit :(

  • @Darkshark272 - Hey Darkshark, sorry to hear about your hamstrings. Stretch, stretch and stretch even more. Head to your physician so they can refer you to a specialist to help with those hammies...after you feel comfortable, try Swiss Ball Leg curls to help start strengthen those hammies.

The Specialist will know best - Funk

  • @marcroops thanks, you the man

  • lucky son....yo i am 24 you think its ok for me to do this exercise.i was surprised to see that lil man's six pack

  • @aazish100 Hey for sure it is okay for you to do this workout - check out more workouts like this on Spartacus Workout website - Funk

  • what if i dont have kettle bells? is there anything else i can use???

  • @NWright95 You can use dumbbells but you will not get the same effect as kettlebells. But at least you will be working the body so go for it. - Check out my Spartacus Bodyweight Workouts too - amazing!!! - Funk

  • man you look like phil davis in your pic haha

  • will you be my father?

  • Hey Funk, been a subscriber for age's and havn't ever regretted it :D

got some Q's tho What would be a good weight for a kettle bell? I'm 16 and fairly fit if it helps. And is Funk your real name? If it is then you must have some awesome parents ^.^

  • @Shiryuk0 Hey Shiryuk, thanks for subscribing and the props - A good weight to start with, especially for swings, cleans, etc I would start with 16kgs. For presses 12 kg to start. technique is ley, so you can go to funkrobertsfitness website or funkmma to get a full 6 series how to kettlebell vid series. My real name is Marc but I do have awesome parents - Cheers Funk Roberts

  • @marcroops I just wanted you to clarify thanks ill be following this program : ) can i use dumbells instead of kettles?

  • @DownBy5ive - Thanks for the props...Using dumbbells will NOT do the same as using kettlebells. Can you use them instead? Sure...will it have the same effect - ABSOLUTELY NOT! - but at least you are using something. My advice is to invest in kettlebells and use both when possible.

For now dumbbells are fine, but you will not get the same effect or results, but you will get results

    Good Luck

    Funk

  • @marcroops thanks man ur really great , no one ever replies on these things when i need advice. Summer really put some fat on me and my spare tire is coming back could you possibly give a diet or an outline of a food program with this? it would help us all

  • @marcroops I think you should clarify something and I'm saying this out of concern I'm 15 myself and have lost over 50 pounds of fat in the last year so I know my body. I wanted to point out that you said "working out wont stunt your growth" but later on you say " bodybuilding is a different story".

  • @DownBy5ive Hey I think what I said was if you want to lose weight and get ripped and muscular then HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) like my Spartacus Workouts are perfect. If you want to gain weight and get bigger, then youhave to train like a b odybuilder. I did not say anything about bodybuilding stunting your growth

    Funk

  • hogwash bull pucky crupe LOL you're 43?! gtfo ur brolic

  • Yo, sup man im 15 and ive started going to the gym and doing leg weight eexcercises and im curious if this will stunt my growth?

  • What supplements would you reccomend taking with this workout? Say if I was to follow this routine:

    Monday - Spartaus Teen Workout

    Tuesday - Spartacus Workout #1

Wednesday - Rest (body needs rest to recover, recuperate and grow

Thursday - Spartacus Bodyweight Workout #1

    Friday - Spartacus Teen Workout

Saturday - Active Day - Play a sport, go for run, do something active and fun

Sunday - Rest, Relax and Prepare for up-coming week

  • @djmattgall I am not sure of your age, but definitely Whey Protein (although you want to get your protein from food sources, but sometimes that is tough.

Protein - rebuilds and repairs tissue and helps to build muscle and fat loss

You should be eating protein with every meal. A mulit-vitamin supplement is great as well. - Funk

  • @marcroops Ok, I have ordered some multi-vitamins. I am 16. I am looking to clean up my diet too. Day 1 starts today! Any recommendations for meals? Protein and carbs with every meal, right?

  • @djmattgall after every workout you need minimum 1 day rest if ur a BEGINNER as a advenced bodybuilder evry muscel of you body will need 1 week rest that means if u train today bicep yoou can train after 1 week again 1bicep if you give them no rest you get overtrained and this will couse that you loose muscel

  • @marcroops I'm excited to get in the gym tomorrow now Funk!

  • Question- For the last exercise(side plank reach unders), do you do two sets so you can do the exercise on your right side and left side? or do you change sides each time you start a new round?

  • @bunkernate Hey Bunkernate, great question - Round 1 do the side plank reach under left side - Round 2 do the side plank reach under right side - round 3 alternate between both! Awesome - Funk Roberts

  • @marcroops

Yo, videos motivate me for real.

1st question..Can I still gain good results if I am unable to do certain exercise due to not having for example a kettle bell. I may have to cut a few out of the routine?

2nd question is this just for teens?

Now to watch the video.. a long 11mins.. gotta go... thanks for all the videos. glad i subscribed

    Monday - Spartaus Teen Workout

    Tuesday - Spartacus Workout #1

Wednesday - Rest (body needs rest to recover, recuperate and grow

    Friday - Spartacus Teen Workout

Sunday - Rest, Relax and Prepare for up-coming week

    EAT HEALTHY

  • @marcroops thats for the info ive cut out the junk food eating 4-5 meals a day of HEALTHY food so that i get rid of that weight that i dont want aswell as the muscle that i want. i also have a slam man that i never used do you have any videos on workout routines for the slam man? and when is the best time to go on him im currently doing the workout routine you said.

    Keep it fresh!

  • Which mma fighters do you train?

  • How many days out of the week do u do this??

  • @estubby27 i asked the same question he said 3. one day one one off ( M,w,f)

  • @estubby27 Hey ESTUBBY - I would also say 3 days a week, depending on your training schedule - (M,W,F) Make sure you have rest days and your nutrition is clean - go to the spartacusworkout website and sign up for the FREE 4 Week Program - Stay tuned for Spartacus 2.0 10 Week Super-Porgram

  • also is eric wongs program great for strength and conditioning?

  • @xaustinbnrx Hey xaustin, I train MMA Fighters, but fought my first Professional Muay Thai fight (my first fight) in Thailand this past January - my channel has the fight, and if you go to funkmma website you will see over 100 FREE Workout and Training Vids - Eric Wong is one of my Featured Trainers and good friend and YES his Strength and Conditioning Program is the BOMB!!! - It's Awesome! - Funk

  • @marcroops Thanks for replying man, and i really love your website bro, this is a great video and you are right, it is way better than the gym cardio, i was planning on using Eric Wong's program and mix it with some of your workouts. Keep up the good work and thanks a lot for your great workouts.

  • @marcroops also just one more question, i got your spartacus workout 2.0 and everything opened but the nutrition guide, and i have pdf. So what should i open it with?

  • do you train mma?

  • good job!

  • Hey funk thank you for sharing this. question my son is 9 years old and he is overweight can he do this workout? Thanks

  • What I see u r damaging your body under such conditions

  • @amitpanchabhai In nice sunny conditions?

  • Funk, thanks for the workout(s) is there a fitness book you recommend or some suggested readings for fitness?

    thanks

  • @01coyote13 What type of fitness information are you looking for...bodybuilding or strength and conditioning - Arnold's Bodybuilding book is a classic and Training for Warriors by Martin Rooney is great for the type of training that I do

  • @marcroops thanks for answering back, since i like the results that i have gotten form your workouts, strength and conditioning related readings, thanks again

  • Nice video..

  • how many times a week and how many days rest inbetween? and will this work out burn fat??

  • @iTzNightCrawler - You can do this type of workout 3 days a week - Check out my channel for other spartacus workouts or go to the spartacusworkout website for a FREE 4 Week program. I would get at least 1 day rest in between - ie) Spartacus Workout m-w-f

This workout will definitely burn fat and get you ripped as long as you EAT CLEAN and have a healthy Nutrition Plan

    Funk Roberts

  • can you tell me more about the resting in between ? and if i don't have kettlebells what can i do ?

  • @d1enoobd1e Hey D1 - You should take 90 sec rest in between sets - drink water, deeo breathes, towel off and focus on the next set. If you are talking about the the 15 sec rest in between exercises, really that is just a transition period to the nextr ecercise - It related to High Intensity Interval Training - Burst of high intensity training followed by a short rest period. - The best way to burn fat, get ripped and super cardio/conditioning - No kettlebells - you could use dumbbells but..

  • @marcroops thanks alot =]

  • 1:25 i seen u drop that bottle cap.

  • Funk Jr did a harder version of the burpee Dad, he added the pushup, HaHaHa. He's stronger already.Go teens go.

  • Hey Funk,

I've been trying to get bigger arms and abs but the growth has been minimal so far , for me these two parts grow the slowest but whenever i work on my chest it gets bigger much quicker. Any ideas on how to improve on muscle gain for arms ????

    Stats;

    height; 5 '10

    weight; 85kg

    age; 16

(BTW - fantastic vid, keep em coming)

  • @pablodsc i managed to understand that you are trying to say you were and ectomorph.. but i don't understand the rest....

  • hey funk, do you have any good workouts that work for the neck?

  • 104 degrees is a dangerous temperature to be working out in. Just saying.

  • @gunmetalcrow - Why? Are you someone that needs air conditioning and comfort when you train, so you are not unconfortable? Just asking?

  • @marcroops I do not really know my facts that well so I won't say that it is definitely dangerous. It just seems as though your body temperature would go way above what it is normally and it doesn't sound healthy. By the way, I actually did this workout yesterday and it felt great. I'll be doing it again tomorrow. Thank you for uploading.

  • @marcroops just keep hydrated! :)

  • @marcroops AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA true that bro

  • funk you talk too much

  • @esejames1992 - Yeah I know, I've been told, but hey, knowlegde is power and the more you know the better off you will be with your training, but yes I am aware I talk too much!

You see, I am even writing too much - lol - Funk

  • @marcroops haha...i have a really quick question for you.. I'f i exersice and eat the right foods consistently, how muscular do you think i'll be able to get in 6-8 weeks?

  • @esejames1992 Hey ESE- That all depends on your starting point, nutrition plan and your goals. - Hard to tell, can you look more muscular in 6-8 weeks - ABSOLUTELY - In the video you can see my 8 week transformation from using my new Spartacus 2.0 Workouts and Nutrition Plan (coming soon) - If you want to get ripped and muscular, these are the type of workouts want to do - Full Body, Multi-Joint Exercises and workouts - THE BEST - Unless you want to be a Bodybuilder and that's different

  • @marcroops Thanks alot for responding..Do you ever do skype with your students/trainees?

  • yo, on grass like that, you might as well go barefoot to get the electrons from the earth and let your foot move naturally. grounding/earthing will reduce free radical damage and inflammation tremendously. check it out on youtube "grounding/earthing david wolfe/mercola

  • funk respreent

  • this is sick!! im 17, this is perfect

  • thanks that was really motivating, how long would it take to go from skinny to well toned?

  • i would love to have a dad like that!
