I think mungo and teazer are supposed to be based off of robber couples like bonnie and clyde, not siblings. they look the same because they are together a lot on stage, and they need to be aesthetically pleasing.
They could have done like most movies do in the credits and have two images up for those who play the same cat. Also ever notice how Rum Tum Tugger isn't always in every scene? same goes for Mistofolees. (Wow after all these years I can stil spell that name. Shame that I can't prounce most of the cats names but I can spell them lol.

Musical Actors have a wide range in their voices and it is not unusual at all to here a difference in range. Perhaps you should listen to Mary Sunshine in Chicago or Douglas Sills From Little Shop of Horrors. Lots of actors play dual roles. have you actually ever been to the theater?

The brother and sister things for both Teazer/Jerry and Cori/Tanto are silly. Cats can very affectionate, sibling cats often lick and groom eachother and such.

In regards to Tumblebrutus, there is a difference between a singing voice and a falsetto.
In regards to the couples/siblings debate...seems like a character choice to me...have you ever watched actual cats interact with each other? Nuzzling a sibling cat is not uncommon.
on what you said about Munkustrap making a mistake-- he is just widening his eyes to express the next line of "feline, fealress, faithful...etc" he didnt make a mistake LOL hes roling them that way to express the line only.

I really think I have to prefer Teazer and Mungo as sibblings, makes stuff so much more explainable. I calico male with a female sister, probably from the same litter, I'd say that's more likely than a random occurrence. Also Mungo's sterile cause he's got the whole XXY chromosome to make him calico/tricolor. It just doesn't work for me too.
And sorry for the comments but there was a scene I was going to ask if you saw. It was in Old Deuteronomy when Plato and Jemima were rolling on top of each other. Then one of the cats scolded Plato.

About the Plato thing... Well Quaxo isn't listed in the credits either yet Mistoffelees is. I don't think they were the same character. Okay back to Plato. I remember in one scene, Plato was in it with the other cats then it showed Macavity laughing. When it switched back to the cats, Plato was still there even though Macavity was still laughing in the background. So I don't think Plato is Macavity... (Besides Bryn playing both) btw I think the scene I'm talking about was right after the Jellic
I noticed something in the Bustupher Jones song: Admetus scrathes his hands when they are in the line. And Pouncival changes positions alot in the video, AND there is a lot of characters that stick their tongues out during song.
@LunaTorki I think they are ghosts. I have been meaning to show a vid. If you look carefully, there are many times when they try to interact with the cats and they are ignored (ie BJ does not notice Tantomile when he is insepcting the other toms and they try to reach out to griz during the heavyside lair scene but are once again ignored. Just a theory I had but I think they may be ghosts cat and they touch Jemima to talk through her in the moments of happiness.
Okay, The answer to Tumble's different voices is that they're were different actors on different filming days. They can't record the whole musical in one rehearsal day, and surely not all the actors could be there each filming day. But great job! I wouldn't have noticed a couple of these thing if you hadn't pointed them out! :)
Okay... Brother and sister stuff? Your just taking stills where they are close together. Also, they're CATS not people. VERY different relationships. Tumble's voice is deeper because the note's lower. I couldn't see Tugger reaching for Munk's anything, hitting the hand was probably an accident. Munk's eyes- ACTING. Dramatic ending, dramatic eyes. As for the credits, the actor playing Plato always plays Macavity too. No point in putting both characters. No conspiracy there I think you'll find.

i disagree with pretty much everything you've just said. Singers can sing differently and he was putting on a higher voice for the song. And alot of stuff they do is part of their routine, there's no mistakes or hand swatting. And they are suppose to be CATS. Cats are very affectionate regardless of whether they are brother or sister and in this musical they are trying to be as similar to cats as possible. I think you've looked into it far too much.
tumble's singing voice is just deeper than his normal voice. Mine is the same way but kinda the reverse, I've got a low speaking voice and a super high sining voice. The way he's saying also might have something to do with it sounding higher.
Anyone notice Teazer and Tugger kissing when Victoria and Plato dance! Look. You have to be quick though. Right after the first close-up of Victoria, check the bottom-right hand corner. Tugger and Teazer are sitting together looking all lovey and their lips are practically touching. Also I think we all noticed when Tugger says F*** you to Grizabella!

When I had a CATS site, it had a trivia quiz I wrote on it. Did you know that, on Bom's big dance scene, her right sleve thingy went up and down no less than 17 times? That's because they cut together two different takes. Did you know that when Etc. was on the trapeze, sher had a harness and cables attached? Did you know that in one scene (don't remember which), you can see the digital display from the back of one camera in another camera shot? I found all kinds of interesting things like that.

@MarblesThe Moose btw, we just did Cats, and the guy who played Skimbleshanks in the tour came and gave us some tips on characterizations and he told the guy who played Plato/Macavity that in their tour they played so that Plato evolved into Macavity. Cats also like to smack each other for no apparent reason. Tugger would have been reaching MUCH further down if he was attempting to grope.

I just did a production of CATS and let me tell you we were always extremely close and nuzzling. Doing stuff that cats do. Because we were playing.... CATS! There’s a shocker.

I really think I have to prefer Teazer and Mungo as sibblings, makes stuff so much more explainable. I calico male with a female sister, probably from the same litter, I'd say that's more likely than a random occurrence. Also Mungo's sterile cause he's got the whole XXY chromosome to make him calico/tricolor. It just doesn't work for me too.

About the Plato thing... Well Quaxo isn't listed in the credits either yet Mistoffelees is. I don't think they were the same character. Okay back to Plato. I remember in one scene, Plato was in it with the other cats then it showed Macavity laughing. When it switched back to the cats, Plato was still there even though Macavity was still laughing in the background. So I don't think Plato is Macavity... (Besides Bryn playing both) btw I think the scene I'm talking about was right after the Jellic

I noticed something in the Bustupher Jones song: Admetus scrathes his hands when they are in the line. And Pouncival changes positions alot in the video, AND there is a lot of characters that stick their tongues out during song.

@LunaTorki I think they are ghosts. I have been meaning to show a vid. If you look carefully, there are many times when they try to interact with the cats and they are ignored (ie BJ does not notice Tantomile when he is insepcting the other toms and they try to reach out to griz during the heavyside lair scene but are once again ignored. Just a theory I had but I think they may be ghosts cat and they touch Jemima to talk through her in the moments of happiness.

Okay, The answer to Tumble's different voices is that they're were different actors on different filming days. They can't record the whole musical in one rehearsal day, and surely not all the actors could be there each filming day. But great job! I wouldn't have noticed a couple of these thing if you hadn't pointed them out! :)

Okay... Brother and sister stuff? Your just taking stills where they are close together. Also, they're CATS not people. VERY different relationships. Tumble's voice is deeper because the note's lower. I couldn't see Tugger reaching for Munk's anything, hitting the hand was probably an accident. Munk's eyes- ACTING. Dramatic ending, dramatic eyes. As for the credits, the actor playing Plato always plays Macavity too. No point in putting both characters. No conspiracy there I think you'll find.

Okay uhm they are the same cat, look it up, its not a theory. Its true. And "proudtoloveGod" *gags at the name* It is a key change, you can hear that he is forcing his voice to be lower. Pay attention. Anyone can do it if they have had as many voice lessons as he probably has. On Broadway they might had changed actors but that would have been to preserve their voice, not necessary in a movie since is isn't filmed all in one day. Get a clue people. Look it up if you don't believe me.

i disagree with pretty much everything you've just said. Singers can sing differently and he was putting on a higher voice for the song. And alot of stuff they do is part of their routine, there's no mistakes or hand swatting. And they are suppose to be CATS. Cats are very affectionate regardless of whether they are brother or sister and in this musical they are trying to be as similar to cats as possible. I think you've looked into it far too much.

tumble's singing voice is just deeper than his normal voice. Mine is the same way but kinda the reverse, I've got a low speaking voice and a super high sining voice. The way he's saying also might have something to do with it sounding higher.

Anyone notice Teazer and Tugger kissing when Victoria and Plato dance! Look. You have to be quick though. Right after the first close-up of Victoria, check the bottom-right hand corner. Tugger and Teazer are sitting together looking all lovey and their lips are practically touching. Also I think we all noticed when Tugger says F*** you to Grizabella!

When I had a CATS site, it had a trivia quiz I wrote on it. Did you know that, on Bom's big dance scene, her right sleve thingy went up and down no less than 17 times? That's because they cut together two different takes. Did you know that when Etc. was on the trapeze, sher had a harness and cables attached? Did you know that in one scene (don't remember which), you can see the digital display from the back of one camera in another camera shot? I found all kinds of interesting things like that.

@MarblesThe Moose btw, we just did Cats, and the guy who played Skimbleshanks in the tour came and gave us some tips on characterizations and he told the guy who played Plato/Macavity that in their tour they played so that Plato evolved into Macavity. Like he was Plato then turned evil and became Macavity. So, there's that.

OMG @.@ That discussion SO reminds me of a joke.
This old lady called the vet because her cat was behaving strangely. The vet checked her and said "Don't worry, it's nothing bad, she's just pregnant."
