  • Shouldn't you do a test on the components first before installing?

  • why soo many fan in side.....i have HAF 920 whit on BIG(bit noisy) fan on side+3 on my radiator(4 staged monster) outside case...but in side one is eough....nice system u have there.peace

  • I like it a lot. Very clean & tidy build. Thanks for posting it.

  • VERY informative video. cudos.

  • i dont think its advisable to wear shoes on carpet while doing computer work..

  • Thumb screwing Go Go Go!

  • How did you go about painting your case?

  • @redhaski it's powder coated.

  • What radiators? and what res?

  • @RedBarron14 he's using a XSPC 360 rad & the res is a XSPC single 5.25 bay res

  • Nice build supertroye! Could you tell me what size the two fans on the West side of the HD cage is and how they were attaced?

  • Thanks man... they're 120mm fans and they're screwed into a plastic fan panel that came with the case.

  • nice build

  • Lol u sleved all 24 pins individually? Isn't there anything for the whole bundle. Thats crazy

  • Absolutely beautiful man. I have the same case but mine is stock color and I'm just cooling on air. I like the 24 pin sleeve job as that hole next to the 24 pin connector is very large and almost would benefit by taking up some room of that hole. Great cable management, color theme and build all together. I wish they covered up some of that space next to the power supply with the CM 840 (for cable manage reasons) but you made it look great.

  • Very Clean build supertroye. May i ask what size tubing are you using? Is there a reason as to using barbs for CPU block and compression fittings for other stuff. My plan is to use 3/8" ID (5/8" OD) compression fitting on the CPU block, but i think or guessing is a little too thick.

  • 1/2" ID 3/4" OD. I have since replaced the

barbs on the CPU block with compression fittings!

  • Can I use tap or bottled water for watercooling

  • @coakisit NO!!! DISTILLED water! tap water has minerals and other things which leave deposits! the distilled water is really cheap so no worry....not advised but the dehumidifier water has distilled water (fine for a car but idk about a pc)

  • About the PCI cables: I would just route the left one along with the right one, and tie them together.

  • lol do u rele need all that im savin up 60 buckxx just to buy my cpu a gforce nividia 8400 gs 512 mb memory video card so i can play cod 5 on my cpu lol btw dumass why u paint those cords they are color coded fo a reson wow

  • Your the dumbass. An enthusiast like supertoye does not need colors. Its all about style and performance.

  • @XxKenManxX loool uber n00b

  • @origamiartist2 ha i hope that kid was being sarcastic

  • Nice rig man, but, don't you think you cut the cpu tube a bit short. I mean, you could behead someone if they ran into something with that tension.

  • insane system, great work!

  • What size Braid did you use? And is that the P6TD Deluxe Motherboard?

  • It's 4.4mm sleeving from murderMod. Ya, it's the P6T deluxe.

  • Seriously man, that is just one nice piece of art! Saw this one getting painted in a video and after seeing this too I cannot imagine how much work has gone into this computer, 5 stars bro!

  • Absolutely beautiful. I've seen a lot of water cooled rigs and yours is set up wonderfully. Good cable management. Can't say I like the custom sleeved 24-pin. I'm going to look into this water cooling kit for myself =P

  • @FreeThinker1 it's the Bitspower D5/MCP655 Pump Mod Replacement Top. It's also in the description :)

  • is it hard to build a computer like yours?

i'd like to build one on my own, but i'm not sure, yet (and i am only 16).

  • Ummm... it's pretty much like a Lego kit. The only thing I would encourage you to do it watch a lot of videos on how to build a gaming rig. As for the water cooling: the hardest part was knowing which parts to buy, other than that a skillful hand would help.

  • ty man ;)

yeah i watched a LOT of vids on that ;)

  • I think the 24 pin power thing looks awesome! Sorry I don't know exactly what it's called because I'm not english :P What did you call the sleeve kit or what you used on it? I wan't to do the same. :D

  • I like how you used that splitter, u never know when you need to add another thing to the water cooling party *****

  • no offence but why would u sleve a sata cable? for looks (why didnt u get black sata cables?)

  • No offense taken. Because it creates a polished look. You could definitely just use black cables. But this makes everything the same and has a finished look. Also I like to do it because it reduces the friction between the cable and anything touching it

  • i have the same case...It's awesome! You have given me a couple of ideas that I may apply to my case in the future.

  • Right on! Keep modding bro... and don't forget to post ur vids so we can all see what you did!

  • Hey the case looks great, quick question it appears that you used compression fittings on your build, if so what brand because I had read that compression fittings would not work on Heat Killer blocks. If you could provide a item # for the fittings that would be awesome. Then all I would have to do is get over having to sell my firstborn to afford the things. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • I used 2 Bitspower Dual Rotary 45-Degree Compression Fittings from Performance-PCs(dot)com. Model BP-BS45R2CPF-CC5.

  • Very nice PC, and I love the MurderMod sleeving! I was debating about getting a CM ACTS 840 because I wasn't sure if it could house an entire WC loop, but after seeing this vid, I know it can! One question though, what radiator did you use? I was wondering if I should buy a 240mm or a 360mm radiator. Would a 360mm fit in the top?

  • Thanks.. I'm using the XSPC RX360. It's a thick 360mm rad. Yes, the ATCS840 can easily fit a triple rad!

  • yeah it would, just switch out the fans to 120 mills

  • The sleeving looks better when the wires are not crossed over each other & the cable hole is just about under the board so the wires dont have to go far before exiting through the hole. If you get what I mean lol

  • Yes, good call bro. I actually had these backwards and didn't find out until my system didn't POST. Basically I had reversed 13-24 and thats why they looked all mangled in the vid.

  • Thats lucky you did not damage the system. I am surprised it went in the wrong way though.

    Nice build though

  • what software do you use to edit your videos? ...your pc is awesome!! +_+

  • thanks man... i use Adobe Premiere Elements 8.

  • nice nice job well done mad props too you must have spent a lot of time

  • thanks man... i appreciate the comment. what about happy props instead of mad props?

  • my old rig had UV blue sleeving, and I found it such a pain to do. For what its worth, sleeving all 24 wires to the mobo connector is just not worth it visually, especially when its black. Try using spiral wrap, it takess les thatn a tenth of the time and still looks good

  • yeah I hear you... I'm not the biggest fan of it either so I am definitely trying to find the best look for the 24 wires.

  • No it does not, take a look on million dollar pc.

    Spiral wrap is horrible.

When the sleeving is done properly it looks amazing & if you want the looks you need to spend the time to do it.

Short cuts make for bad looking mods.

  • to fix the SATA power, shoe the excess into the hard drive cage

  • does look fab :)

  • thanks little world of gaz... i hope to have some more videos in the coming months!

  • ok thanks, im getting masterkleer 1/2 ''shiny'' black tubing and its uv aswell

  • nice, nice... please make some vids of your build!

  • i already did! if you subscribe you will see new updates im gonna do thats why i asked for the tubing!

  • whats that tubing size 3/8?

  • It's 1/2 inner diameter, 3/4 outer diameter Tygon tubing.

  • The water tube you leave in front of the hard drives; the one that splits off just before the pump, what is it's purpose? Or did you simply set it aside for future use?

  • It's so I can drain the loop easily. It's got a drain plug on the end and it's the lowest point in the system. Kinda like changing your oil in your car :)

  • hey

    what pump are u using?

and is it good? do u like it?

    thanks

  • it's the Swiftech MCP655-B. It's very popular and you can find 'em anywhere. Cheers!

  • do u know if 7/16 is better than 1/2 tubing? or vice versa?

    thanks

  • 7/16 is commonly used with 1/2 barb fittings so that it makes a really tight fit. If you are using 1/2 compression fittings (what I have) then you must use 1/2 tubing. I prefer compression fittings, but they are a lot more expensive than barbs.

  • also i wanna know why u have the top there on the pump? does i make the pump perform better or what?

    thanks for the replies

  • It's mounted to the pump by two mounts:

    (UN)Designs Pump Z-Bracket

    (UN)Designs Absolute Pump Bracket - Version 3

  • Is it important to have backplate with this cpu block or is it the only way? Thanks!

    --yytinen

  • You can install it without the backplate but you risk damaging your motherboard.

  • Ok, thanks. I just did not found backplate anywhere because I live in finland and I order from Germany. I look for it, but if i don't find it then I have to take the risk. Thanks again.

    --yytinen

  • Wow that looks really nice. good work

  • whats the name on the "extra" thing that you have attached to the pump ?

  • It's a custom pump top from Bitspower. Supposed to improve flow while allowing you to mount the pump in any configuration you want. It's not necessary though, if you just gonna mount the pump as is from the factory.

  • Man you are one brave man and have a lot of patience with that cable management and i envy you. i will have to do mine sadly one day...

  • Thanks man... yeah you just gotta get in the right mindset. I find that I do better if I'm not tired, cranky, edgy, or otherwise in a bad mood. Anyone can do it and there's no secret to good cable management. I'd encourage you to block off a couple hours and get your build looking top notch!

  • when you buy a water cooling kit, do all those nuts and bolts come with the blocks?

  • I think some do. The only water cooling kit I would consider are the ones from Swiftech. Their Apex Ultima kit does come with fittings. if you don't go with that one then it is easy to tell, just read what's included!

  • Ideally if i was you i'd braid both the PCI-E cables together and drill a hole i next to the Mobo, little more acces for other cables aswell maybe?

Although youve already got it coated so possibly just give it a miss.

  • No, that's a fantastic idea. I'm currently working on another build but I'm gonna circle back to this one when it's done. That's what I was thinking, and others have suggested too! Thanks for the comment...

  • What temps you have with this HK LT?

  • My i7 - D0 is OC'd @ 3.6GHz and it's 40C idle and 70C at load (Prime 95 at 1 hour). The 4870X2 has never been above 45C even after several runs of FurMark.

  • 3.6Ghz is a pussy OC ;)

  • I agree... I'm not an expert overclocker but the OS won't boot if I go over that. May be the motherboard, dunno. But it's as high as I can get it for the time being.

  • Im pretty sure its a bios problem. once the cpu hits a high enough temprature, it will shutdown your system in order to make an attempt to save the components. you can change it but i dont know how to on that motherboard. there should be forum somewhere on how to do it on your specific motherboard and bios.

  • Noob for life? Hardly man, awesome vids and amazing build.

  • I'm quite sure when unscreew top of NB heatsink from cooper base you can put NB block on it.

  • Yes you can! Might not be a bad option

  • is this a good case for core i7 / core 19 build?

  • not sure what you mean by core 19, but, yes, it is a fantastic case as the air flow is awesome. it is pretty much future proof as it has lots of room and is ready for a triple rad up top if you decide to go water cooling later. for $199 at Newegg, it's a great value for the money.

  • i meant the core i9 sorry. okay cool thanks

  • You can even do a Dual loop in an ATCS 840 without any modding... One Rad on the roof, one on the floor ( remove two HDD )

  • absolutely! if i add a second video card that's probably what i'd do. it's a cool case!

  • I've asked about your mobo P6T deluxe, I can see 4 screews on it , so I thought u can put WC block on it.

  • Ah, yes. It is all connected (nb/sb/mosfets). I've seen some people remove the NB cover and slap a water block on that... but I would recommend buying a NB/SB block and 2 mosfet blocks if you're gonna go that route.

  • For installing NB water block is it necessary to remove all heatpipes or cover from NB heatsink only?

  • I don't know for sure, but I would assume it depends on the motherboard. For my motherboard, ASUS P6T Deluxe, it is all connected by heat pipes. Which board do you have?

  • depends on the heatsink on your motherboard. If it is all connected then yes u ill have to take it all off bit if it is on its own then u only take the one off.

  • good work but wont the back be hidden away?

  • thanks man... yeah the back won't be visible, but that's where you run everything. you don't want to see many wires, but if you do make them look nice :)

  • Just picked up this case and I gotta say that it's roomy! One question though... did you notice a slight bulge on the side panel where all the cables are hidden?

  • Well, I routed the cables so that there was no bulge or bunching that would interfere with the side panel. It took me a couple tries even after this video was taken to get it right. Time and patience was the key...

  • From the video, it looked like you tightened the screws on the Heatkiller all the way...which you should NOT do. Watercool recommends that the distance from the top of the screw and the fastener be 19.6mm, which provides the ideal force of 200 newtons...

  • Thanks for the comment. Yeah I saw that on the directions. I'll go back and check to see if the distance is right.

  • goog thing i almost tried everything LOL

i just found out that koolance compression fittings dont fit on the heatkiller. they're too close too each other. what r u using?? bitspower 1/2ID 3/4OD??

if yes, im going to buy them now, along w/ the backplate. (i dont want to take any chances not having the backplate put on LOL) i'll probably start this build next week. So bummed to found out this morning.

  • Yeah I didn't even think about that... I've got 2 Bitspower 45 degree rotary fittings on the HeatKiller now along with 2 Bitspower compression fittings. You could use the barbs that come with the HeatKiller for now and wait for the Bitspower to come in. At least you won't stop progress!

  • Troye, where did u buy that hose cutter? did u change the loop order yet? bcause both i7 and 4870 x'2 run HOT, so cooling the GPU before CPU is not good i assume. LOL

btw i wont have any internet once i start this watercool project, im still looking for a HD camera to make vids.

  • Lol... it's called an Anvil Pruning Shear, used to cut shrubs. Go to any Lawn and Garden center of Lowe's or Home Depot to get them. Not sure if that's the best thing to use but it works great for straight, clean cuts.

No I haven't changed the loop order yet, but my i7 (OC'd at 3.6GHz) runs at 40C idle and the 4870X2 never goes above 45C at full on load. So, IDK, maybe try the 2 loops and see what you get?

  • This is probably the best video I've seen for seeing hands on what its like hooking up a watercooled system. Love the cabling on the back. I don't think I have the stomach for all of that sleaving, but it looks great. Where did you get those nylon loops for the back cabling? I need to do that with my ATCS 840.

  • Thanks man! Yeah the cabling took some time to do but you just have to get in the right mind to do it. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again though. Lowe's / Harbor Freight / Radio Shack has the clips... look in the electrical section.

    Cheers!

  • Very nice man! This is the case I'm looking at for my water cooling build, and your work has inspired me.

  • Thanks man... it's a fantastic case with lots of options for water cooling. Make sure to take pics / videos!

  • You did a great JOB i SUB!

  • Thanks man!

  • Thats a really nice job man!!! Check out my vids 2 man I am using the LC version but on a ... different loop!!

  • That's an interesting loop.. I'm curious to see how that performs.. what temperatures and results.

What CPU do you have under there?

  • It's a Core i7 920 - D0 OC'd @ 3.6GHz. Steady at 40C idle and 70C load (Prime 95 at 1 hour). The 4870X2 has never been above 45C even after several hours of gaming.

  • Thanks for replying. Think I'm going to use the same diameter too. Have the HAF and tho next size down would be okay flow wise I think, it might look proportionally too small for the case. Yeah, I'm buying from sidewinder;-) Where I've been looking to get my HK3. Thanks again!

  • Sounds good... I wouldn't be afraid to use smaller diameter but I see your point. If you're going to have a lot of loops then smaller is better, easier to work with. But a single loop like in the video does fill more visual space. Best of luck and have fun!

  • Oh, sorry, meant to say 3/4 o.d.

  • Thought I'd watch this vid of yours again 'cause I'm going to start ordering the components for my wc, and I was wondering if you could tell me what diameter tube you went with? I try to find the answers myself, and I found black Tygon 1/2" & 3/8". Thank you and I like the work you did, 5* !

  • Hey man... I used Tygon R-3400, it's 1/2" inner diameter, 3/4" outer diameter. You can get it at sidewindercomputers[.]com/ty1idx3odlat.html

  • Thanks Jason! I did so much sleeving that I almost started to sleeve my dog. Don't you already have a sand blaster? A powder gun would make a nice addition to your arsenal of tools (and maybe an oven too).

  • Amazing paint job. So jealous... :)

  • Thanks man... wish I could take credit for it but I left that up to people much smarter than me :)

  • Thant looks extremely nice and sleek.. great job with the murder mod sleeving.. I really want to try that! and I think I have an idea for the 6 pin pci cables. Try tucking them close to the bottom of the video card and then behind where the sata cables go into the mobo. that way they run strait down to the bottom.

  • Thanks zoop... yeah man go get yourself some murdermod sleeving. It's got a real tight weave and just looks great. Ok thanks for the suggestion... I had thought about that and wondered how to secure them to the motherboard without something looking tacky. Will try it...

  • you don't really have to secure them if they will fit behind the sata connections they will just stay... also you can use a zip tie mount behind the sata connections to hide it

  • nice dude...did u buy the heatkiller soon as i gave u the link?? LOL btw rite now i'm painting my cosmos..i tried to drill some more holes using jigsaw, but it was a disaster.. i only drilled one hole, n it looks really ugly, but thats ok..

    Nice job

  • Yes sir... and thanks for the heads up! Eek, do you have a dremel or a drill with 1/4" bit? That probably would have been easier than using a jog saw. Anyways, post of a vid if you get a chance to check out your progress!

  • nah, its alrite...i already got my rig back together now. the paint is not too bad, i did it all in one day.

redoing the cable management was pain dude, it took me like 3 hrs LOL. it makes me think twice bout taking out all this setup when my WC parts come.

i'll prob take care of other things first before going water, i need to spend money on furniture LOL

    anyway Thanks man !!

u could be the next tjharlow =)

  • thanks Tj! Yeah I drilled out all the rivets and sent it to get powder coated. My i7 - D0 is OC'd @ 3.6GHz and it's 40C idle and 70C at load (Prime 95 at 1 hour). The 4870X2 has never been above 45C even after several runs of FurMark.

I think I may need another 120 x 2 radiator to get the load temps down since the loop has the GPU right before the CPU. But, even if not I'm certainly ok with 70C load.

  • Bro. that looks absolutely amazing! 5STARZ!

Sucks YT muted your vid, did you just re uploaded or were you able to get the sound back. I have away to get audio back if YT mutes it. Send me a PM if you want me to send it to you.

funny thing, I was ready to go a sleep, when I saw your vid, so I thought I would watch it before sleeping, but the silent effect just put me to sleep. Thanks Bro

Glad you go your sound back

    LazyMan

  • Thanks LazyMan! Yeah, I had aspirations of letting one slip by with "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo", but you can't slip one by the machine. Oh well, such is life I guess. Take care...

  • gd gd gd

  • thanks?

  • i wanted to say first but i fought the temptation

    btw awesome music
