  • I'm sooo ready to go back this year! The last time I saw the glass flute player it was so cold his fingers were red!!

  • @elteescat Me, too (go back)!! And I'll bet Donal kept right on playing with cut gloves on....... :)

btw, fyi you can find Donal Hinely on Facebook; a great guy; plays guitar and sings, too!

  • @LizBizToo Indeed he did keep on with the cut gloves! And the music was lovely! He played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

  • @elteescat aww, sweet! Its great to hear old classics played on the glasses :) Have a great time of merriment when you go!

id just have to find the right costume lmao

  • i live in cleveland is this far from where i live?

  • Yes....very far, I live in Springfield and it is an hour from here so I would say it is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours from where you live

  • @jake062490 5 hrs

  • Oh and I was at the Joust where the Horse snapped the polls I was right by it.

  • I go every year! I love it!

My brother used to work there also...:)

Next time any of you in Ohio go to the Chain mail shop. The guys there are hilarious ((Don't take little children unless you want to expand their vocabulary))

  • XD luv it. thx for the visit here, too

  • Yahooooo! :D

  • A lot of protest going on there, I see. In the end hopefully the truth prevails. I wish you all well.

  • haha I luv it :D!!!!!!! It's time to make some changes in the physical of how we live, don't you think?!

  • i want to live there! I go every year we all live there permanently in our heads get PUMPED!!

  • LOL...it is so fun.. YEAH! SEE YOU THERE!

  • ROFLMAO!!!! Ohhhh, we have sooooo much in common! LOLLLL....

    Saddle up! Now!!!!!

  • What a fabulous Renaissance Faire!! Beautiful spot too! The glass player was excellent and the PERFECT sound track! Your footage made me want to book tickets NOW to go this year! And, YIPPIE, you dress for them too! That does it, I'm on my way...LOL

  • hahaa!!! C'on, c'on!!! Now I'm excited! It's coming up soon, methinks... LOL...

I'm not sure (since I'm new to them) but it would appear that Ohio has a pretty large faire, comparatively (surely LA has a larger one?) Heck, how bout a "Youtube Meetup at Ohio Ren Faire"! Wouldn't that be wild :D

  • hehe, we might just have better lookin knights :D

  • That would be a BLAST!! I better saddle up my horse and start now to get there on time...lol I hear Ohio has lots of Faires, and BIG ones! The biggest one here is in Riverside. Those were some mighty fine knights I saw around those parts! Hmmmmm...I wonder if I can get one to fight for MY honor! Oh wait, do I have any honor left?? Either way, I still want him to fight for it...hahahaha

  • I was there, that is so much fun, isnt' it? Does anyone know of a store or website that sells these kind of costumes

  • Oh, do a search online. If you are in Southern Ohio, there is a nice store in Milford on the main street there. Totally agreed: 'fun' :D

  • Get a hold of Devlyn at Odd Bodkin in Miamisburg, she can set you up very well

  • Thx much! Good to know a local source :D

  • Anytime, tell her Angel (Slvr) sent you. We've been friends since my first year @ faire in '97 Also, Ky Highland Ren Faire starts 5/31 if you're interested. @ Ohio I work @ Wolfs Moon apothocary but my hubby works @ Legacy Forge by the knights encamp. Your vid actually had 2 LF pirates in it the shirtless ones in yellow (Sir Tristan) & the other in red (Adam). Sir Tristan sadly passed away right aft. Ohio ended. Stop by Wolfs Moon some time and say Hi :0)

  • Oops forgot to mention Ky runs thru the 4th of July weekend so it gives you a month to get a chance to go down if you're interested. It will at least give a lil bit o' ren fix til Ohio starts lol.

  • Haha, sadly the Florida Rennisance festival isn't till Febuary..like 18th of 2009,just weant for 2008. I'm watching this and want mine to start. I'm already working on both mine and my mom's costume. My mom used to ahte the Ren-Fair,now she wants to dress up and loves it. HUZZAH!

  • There is something a little magical about it all, methinks :) Come to Ohio!

  • I have to say, it is always nice to see guests enjoying themselves. Certainly feel most welcome to join us again this coming year.

  • A good time, for sure, and I don't doubt I'll be joining in this coming summer. Thx for visiting here, azrielbane; sorry I missed your comment until now!

  • I actually saw this very same jousting tournament. If I'm correct the jousting couldn't continue because the knight on the brown horse's armored glove broke.

  • I never got the details of exactly what happened. We were regretting that it ended so quickly, tho :D

  • I went to this festival several years ago and would LOVE to go back- one question, though- about how many costumed guests do you see wandering around? I know there are the shop vendor-people and reenactors, but guests?

  • plenty! You wouldn't feel out of place if you dressed the part, believe me :)

  • Hi! Excuse I missed your comment until now....thanks for watching....

we have something in common :D...me, too!

  • Thx, Berril; it sure was fun, but it could have used your entertaining group :)

Thx for those last pics yu sent; I'll make good use of them! Ha!

    :D

  • Love the festival, I have traveled every year for the past 6 in a row from Anderson, Ind to see it.

  • That's a surprise! It has grown into quite an event; thank you for watching and commenting :)

You'll find me on your channel, too...soon!

    :D

  • Don't worry LizBizToo I got the dagger covered I'll just bring it from my vid to yours. LOL! Thanks for sharing this it was awesome. I loved the glass player:)))

  • Sister, after watching your last vid, I think you got it ALL covered!! (hee, pirate is deff a fave costume here)

    Nice to see you here!

    :D

  • I went to a Ren. Festival in California with my mom, in the 80's... this guy on a horse came galloping down the road toward us, hopped off his horse, and kissed me. I was pleasantly surprized... heheheh Liz

  • LOL!!! Ha, like that's what knights did back when! But then, it kinda fits right in with the spirit, I suppose, of a Ren Fest...(I won't mention any deeper psychological aspects here!) Didn't he also sweep you off your feet and carry you off into the sunset?!

Thx for stopping by to watch and sharing that one! I'll visit you, soon.

    :D

  • Nope, but it was quite refreshing..

  • Haaa, thanks for the great picture in mah brain (oh that we should all experience that at least once lol) :D

  • LOL I think you'll agree there are glitches small and large in all of life!

I thank thee for thine gracious commentary, and I am becoming more and more enthusiastic about visiting Europe to experience the 'real' medieval games :P Perhaps you can point me in some direction on that subject........ :D

  • Knights in Ohio... and Renaissance... I think that there was a small glitch in American understanding of medieval knighthood :>

But nevertheless, you saved the day! I grant thee the rose of thousand springtimes fore thine noble efforts!

(You should come to Europe for a showcase of real medieval games :P)

  • Alright! We still have a few more weeks to go again...and again..... :D

  • That was terrific Liz! I went to something very similar in England an dit really is a fun and interesting day out. Loved all the costumes there and the glass guy was really good. The music and your editing made it feel as if we were really there. Thank you!

  • Thank you, Sarah; really, tiz terrific you are here :) You and I could probably shop all day for costumes! And I'd love nothing better than to meet up with you at a Ren Fest in England to do just that! I'll bring the glass player's CD to get us in ze mood :D

  • LOL too true! Shop til we drop! :D It's a date! haha

  • Liz, your intro was particularly well done... sorry I missed the festivities. ***** Hans:-)

  • Hi Hans, thank you for your compliment :)

I guess a vid is 2nd to being there...I sure enjoy sharing the festivities with everyone, and it's good to see you here (next summer, come to Ohio and join in the real thing!)

  • Now this feels mighty fine, Cindy, to have you here with your usual enthusiasm and charm...my warm thanks and cheery greetings to you!

  • This made me really miss Ren Fest! Ah I can't wait for 2 weeks from now when I get to go! YAY!

  • Yayyy!! I love it, too :D

    Have mucho fun!

  • Very nice video. We used to go there every year, when my son was young. He likes the big turkey legs. :)

  • Oh, Joey, and I said to myself why didn't I get a shot of those big turkey legs! (I usually like to shoot food, but with everything else distracting me...!)

Thx for watching; I've just enjoyed watching some of your vids, too. What a garden you must have :)

  • Looks like a blast. Loved the glass music and the jousting. Those poor knights must have almost melted in the heat under all that armour.

  • heh, I think it's called miserable, and I hope they're paid well!

Thx for stopping by, Oliver; it really was a blast :D

  • I'm listening to Glass Stories on Donal Hinely's MySpace page. It's beautiful. Thanks for the tip, Liz! And thanks for the great video. "What a bright day" indeed! And great to see you all dressed up for it. Thanks for taking us along with you!

  • It is heavenly music, is it not?! I was happy that he agreed to it's use here :)

It was such a good time...wondering here with your return to England...how bout sharing a few fairs with us hint hint?! (lol split screen: have what's his name narrate ...mm, what is his name?)

    Thx, Nathan :D

  • I don't know the last time I went to a fair .. but if I ever do, I'll be sure to get some film of it :) You're not seriously asking for more Nathan and Nathan, are you??? Noooo!!! LOL. Hugs x

  • Yessssss!! All kinds of possibilities are within the concept! Yeah!! LOL :DDDDDD

  • heh, the artist in you coming out :)

p.s. some might consider them so, but I don't think foxtails are 'too' girly :D

(hey, how bouts I pick u up one on my next fair visit? what color? lol)

  • GReat recap of the fest!

  • Hi sonnyboo, appreciative thanks;

good to see you here ...as always, I hope that your productions are going great for you!

  • And thank you for coming here to join in the moment...it does feel good to share such fun things as this :)

    Thx, Dave

  • dreamy- that music was perfect. I love your videos Lizzzzzzz! I've watched this several times today :)

  • Oh, how generous, Mary Ann! It's good knowing that I can bring a little joy here and there ...on repeat, no less! :D

(dreamy is the word! He does have CDs with the glass playing on them. His website is in the description :)

  • Beautifully presented, LizBizToo

Harkens back to the time of King Arthur

The sound of the glasses made its own music

    The joust was incredible

    The horses superb

    "DRUM"

  • Hi Drum! You said it! (uhm, do you suppose we could have the next Youtube gathering at a Ren Fair?!)

Thanks for being here, friend :D

  • I just saw the Knights of Valour in NJ just last week, they're awesome! glad to see you had a good time!

  • Sounds like I'll be doing an online search to check out those knights! My thanks,

yes, it was totally a good time!

  • Beautifully done Liz; it has that special LizBizToo polish.

    ps: Nice Js :)

  • Thank you, Saint, for your kind commentary...tell me, tho...ahem, Bob Dylan is coming to town here soon, do you think I would benefit by being in the audience?

    thx :)

  • hehe...guess who is on with him?! Elvis Costello! I'll call ze airlines right now for ya! lol

    :D

  • Elvis Costello? I like. Even better is Elvis Abbott!

  • I heard it said, ze only thing better than an Elvis... is 2 Elvis's :D

  • Wouldn't hurt; ze kiddy has a rough and untuned polish all his own mmm? *wink*

    thx :)

  • Liz, you did a FANTASTIC job! We have them at nearby Kentwell Hall, depicting the times of the Tudors, Stuarts and Henry VIII and Elizabeth the first. You have made me want to get my old books out!:)

  • And all these comments from England are getting me in the mood to cross the big pond...:D

Thx for watching, Anthony. I've some catching up to do on your recent crossing of the pond, too!

  • You're so cute, mama. I used to juggle at the one in PA. We should combine talents ;)

  • Gert! A juggler! That's an exciting Wow! Do you not have that on tape, mmm??

  • No tape, no no, a photo or two ... somewhere. That's just not the same though. ;)

  • you can say that again...motion, we must have motion...next time I'm through your neighborhood... :D

  • Nice! Thank goodness for the Renaissance. Scarborough Fair sounds like a perfect shoo-in! :)*****

  • Hi Emmanuel, tiz nice to have you stop by, thank you. And I do look forward to watching more on your channel. That Blackbird vid is soooo nice :)

  • And thank you again for checking out Tradition, Liz :^)

  • Hi Liz, Love your video!

If the event has its own website this would make a great embedded video for them, very much like English medeival fayre's we have here, great costumes, armour, props, and beautifully filmed!

  • Greetings, Tom :D

Your idea gladly made note of here, and oh wouldn't I love to go to your fayres!!!

Your generous commentary is appreciated here, thanks mucho! :D

  • A fantastic Vid, back to old times. and a great glass player.

  • My thanks, 1summersweet...it would please me if Donal received even a wee bit more traffic with this vid; his link is in the description :)

  • Lizzzzz! This was SOOOOOO beautifully put together...down to the end with the song on the wineglasses! It made me feel like I was there too! Great costumes on everyone and you looked so gorgeous! 5 stars for sure! :D

  • Sherry (babe)! Good to hear from you and pleased that you enjoyed the trip...

you picked out my faves, too: the glass playing music and the costumes! heh, well, I can't leave out the horses and knights, either! Twaz all good! Gorgeous sounds good! That, and stars, happily accepted :)

(ha, I think they should do a tower scupture of old buggies ala your last vid, don't you?)

Hope all is going well for you :)

  • Nice to see ya, Sadie...haha! No frocks? Did ya see those/got any foxtails to pin on behind ya, then?! That'll work! :D

  • How much fun that looks .I have never been to one .Thank you for taking me on your trip .I just love the dress in that time.I always liked the sound the glass player I don't know why.lol

  • We share a love of the dress of that time (can you tell? It's what I taped the most!) I think the sounds of the glass playing is similar to bells, which spark something within all of us :)

I'll bet the next time you see a Ren Faire you'll think about going! Do!

  • well done, as always, Liz.

  • Hi MZ, my thanks for dropping by to watch with an appreciative commentary :)

And I'll check in on your channel soon, just to see if I missed anything! :D

  • So you had a Close Encounter with a medieval glass player in 16th century Ohio , Liz? You really do lead the most interesting life... : )

    Billy....xx

  • LOL, yes! Close encounter with a great taste o ze past :)

Interesting? Haaa, stay tuned...tonight I'm going to a private party at a rebuilt ancient Adena Indian village :D

Thx Billy, hope all is well with you :)

  • Are you a SCAdian by any chance? I used to go to camping events --no civilians allowed. This looks very touristy!

  • not by a long shot...this was my first such event attended (ha tho I did rub shoulders with a tenant of mine once who helped start this fair and was an ironsmith by trade...he looked like one of those vikings and if ya believe in past lives...that he was. This was touristry; sponsored by corporations; many retailers were there; still an enjoyable time for what it was.

Too bad 'no civilians' means no taping...that would be nice to view... :)

  • I've never been to a Renaissance Fest before-- but I was asked to go to one in Maryland next weekend. I don't think I will be able to make it though- I'll be babysitting! Looks like good times though!

  • Twaz my first one ever attended and I found it enjoyable...I trust I enticed you and you'll make it to one yet!

Good to have a visit from you, Alicia; hope school is well for you :)

  • Wonderful video Liz! And I agree with millie73 you look so beautiful!

  • Your compliment is appreciated here, souixana :)

Luv that whole dress-up part, don't we? Halloween has always been my fave...it might just take a 2nd seat to Ren Faires, now :D

  • Ohhh, Liz!! I love Ren Faires!!! I go to all the Ren Faires I can get to!!! Thanks for posting this :) It's almost that time here!!!

  • Ok, gal, that does it! After we have coffee we'll go to the Ren Faire! (This one lasts about 6-8 weeks!!! Plenty of time to go back, and back, and back again...heh, I must buy a whole new wardrobe now lol) :D

  • It's a date! Coffee and a Ren Faire :)

  • Oh what fun. I haven't been to a Renaiisance festival for years. Loved your editing as usual Liz.

I was at a castle in Trentino last summer that housed a huge collection of armour.

People were so much smaller in stature (and girth!) 500 years ago and the typicial suit of armour seems miniature. Those knights that were considered 'giants' were what we call average height nowadays. :)

  • My thanks, Lesley. You made me think of my similar thoughts when I visited the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland! There were mannequins dressed in stars' clothes...so surprisingly tiny, tiny were they! (not that I'm comparing rock n roll stars to knights lol!)

    :D

  • Thanks for sending , when I lived in Cali we went to them a few times I always had a great time . /5 :o)tm

  • Sir James said there is one in every state and many in California. They truly do touch something in many people. Thx, uncledave :)

  • Y/W :o)tm

  • That was really cool! The last time I went to a Renaissance Pleasure Fair was when I was about sixteen or seventeen back in 1973. That was great fun!

  • Oh, sounds like you are more than ready to attend another one! You'd surely enjoy the music!

    My thx, Jack :D

  • Thank you Lizzz for this great video you made, powered by your love for us all.

'There is no time, there is no space, there's only love, that all embrace.'

    love

    volker

  • And thank you, Volker, for joining me here with the beautiful reminder :)

  • It seems of living in that century... amazing!

    Great video and music :)

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for visiting! I so enjoy seeing your part of the world, too, Laz. I watched the parade again last night :)

  • Very kind, thank you :)

  • That was fun, I loved the sound of the glasses singing away !.

I finally uploaded the video of the ballad that MoonDog wrote and I put the vocals to if you wanna watch it :)

  • Makes yu want to get out some glasses, doesn't it?!

We must have been preparing uploads at the same time! Congrats again, Marco, and thanks for dropping by during your busy time :D

  • Yeah I was always playing around with the glasses in restaurants doing that ! lol.

Yeah I was up all night playing around with mixes, but it had to stop somewhere :)

Thanks, it's always fun to drop by :D

  • Hey Lizzz, thanks for sending me your latest video, this was so fascinating to watch, loved the glass playing....and may i say how stunning you look :)~ ~smiles to you~michelle x0x 5*****

  • Thank you, Michelle :)

I totally loved the glass playing, too...rather heavenly, isn't it... and it took me a few to walk on and leave it (one of the few things I purchased was his CD)

Big warm smiles to you :)))

  • Great video, I love the Renaissance, thanks for sharing this with us Liz ! 5* A.D. :))

  • Oh yes! I've found a new love, too...I'll try to contain myself and not do all Renaissance vids! lol

  • Now that must be a festival to behold...I can only imagine (well, til I get on ze boat n float across :) America is so 'new'....

  • Here's to Sir James!

  • hheee...I'll ditto that! :D
