I was in the armed forces myself...I was wounded by a grenade when I was 19. I loath war but agree with your message.

My Dad was in Algerian war like many of his of his generation... War is dirty and no one brings happy memories from it...

I have heard too many stories over the years about various conflicts and the first hand recollections of the horrors of war, I guess that is why I am anti-war, to me the toll is too great to justify but I guess sometimes it just has to happen, sad but true

My mother's father was in the marines during WWII. His division was next up on the rotation and would have spearheaded the invasion of Japan. Due to the surrender following the atom bombs, it is a good chance his life was saved.

My father's father was a little younger. He was in the army during the Korean War, but the week before he was to be deployed, the cease fire was signed.

It seems my family has been quite lucky over the years when it comes to war.

Mine has not been so lucky, maybe that why none of us chose military service
