Amazing project and result! Very inspiring! I was wondering what circuit you used for the 18dB boost? I want to build a boost into my guitar, but have been having trouble finding simple schematics for that.
Dude, that is insane!. I own 54 FZ albums. I was sixteen wnen a an older cat in hood turned me and my friends on to FZ. He had to grow on me. The love I had for the guitar made it easy. He is why my first desent guitar was a SG Standard. Back of Roxy and Else. did it. I would like to hear your SG. You know your shit. I would have saved a lot of coin if I learned how to swap pups out.. Incredible work. You know what's bizzare? FZ passed away on my 33rd birthday. Black napkins FZ. Rock on!
The song is a guitar improvisation by FZ and other musicians in 1991 in Prague. It has never been released by Zappa or his family, instead it can be found on a cd called 'Pražský Výběr - Adieu C.A.'. Which has the whole concert on it. The song is called 'Improvizace V A Dur S Frankem Zappou'.... Which probably means 'Improvisation in the key of A by Mr. Frank Zappa'
I got the knobs from a german site called 'banzaimusic' .... But no need to search that far around the world for the knobs.. :) The knobs are actually just regular Boss pedal knobs, as found on a lot of Boss pedals like the DS1
I build my own guitars and have been a guitarist and FZ fan forever.
Would you consider building me a wiring rig to make a two pickup guitar that utilizes this setup? I am open to whatever you see to be worth your time to make it for me.
Please contact me ASAP at pittbluesman@aol.com or at Tonythebassplayer1 on Youtube.
Thanks and great job by the way! I'll bet she sounds great.
Thank you:) I'll try to begin making a video in a couple of weeks... But all I can say for now is that there WILL be a video about the sound, but I'm not quite sure when....
Let me think.... The guitar itselfs was 750 euro, the electronics all together about 250 euro (including a lot of stuff that I didn't use) so lets say about 1000 euros, That is about 1370 dollars total. AND it cost me A LOT of time :)
@bramverbeek2 Wow... Thats really cheap! I don't know about you, but doing something like that looks to me kind of fun. So I guess "lot of time" is good :)
The green ringer is sort af an octave/fuzz effect. When you play it creates a note that is an octave higher than the note you're playing. You can still hear the original note, but with the octave up sound in the background. It also produces fuzz. FZ described it as 'a middle-eastern sounding fuzz'. And thats probalby the right description :). Also when you play more than 1 note at at time, it produces an afwul sreaming sound, which is awesome :) and the reason why FZ liked it
Thanks for watching :) I'll try to make a nice video about the sound of the guitar, and how all the switches work... but I'm currently very busy with school, so I can't promise that the video will be uploaded shortly. But I'll make one some day :)
What do you people think of Dean guitars I bought a really nice Dean Z Im kind of beginner especially in the knowledge dpartment. I think my guitar sounds great but I know jack shit about it. I believe mine has a floyd rose thingy.
