Sure man, I used Sony Vegas for this one but for professional use, I'd recommend going Final Cut Pro (unfortunately only for macs but it's definitely worth it)

Hmm that's tough to say, the first thing that got me started into Cardistry is the Cobra Cut many years ago. I then took off with CTG and the rest was history. It's tough to recommend anything since everyone's style is different, just go for what you feel you'll have most fun doing.
