@IndigoGamingl337 Ovechkin is the ONLY player to have gotten 60 goals in the last 15 years, since Lemieux and Jagr did it in 95-96. He went a step further and got 65, making Lemieux the only one. Meanwhile, Crosby isn't exactly a goal scorer, so it's unfair to judge him by only goals. Crosby's best season was 120 points. In the last 15 years, Lemieux, Jagr, Sakic, and Thornton have all scored 120 points, and combined to do it 8 times between them. Remind me who's overrated.

But Sid is a team player and wants to win Cups and gold medals, so he plays as a team. Ovechkin will never have this, nor any MVPs again

That means that percentage-wise, their shots are less likely to go in, meaning passing often DECREASES the likelihood of scoring. Shooting more doesn't necessarily make him a puck-hog, since it can be for the good of the team.

His teammates all have better shooting percentages then him, so he should be passing, not shooting! The only reason he got 65 goals is because he shoot almost double what anyone else did. Granted, that part he can do, but the other responsibility of the center being in the slot is that he's closer to the blueline so that he can play DEFENSE when needed, something that Crosby utterly fails at, making it harder to call him a team player.

And since Ovechkin had a couple hundred more hits then Crosby would've, in the end Ovechkin helped his team regain possession of the puck FAR more. Also, Mike Richards hasn't scored 60+ goals. That's a horrible comparison. Actually, nobody has since Mario Lemieux 15 years ago. Crosby hasn't had a season that impressive yet.

People with no hockey knowledge, like you, think that if a guy takes 40 shots at the net and scores one then he is a big game player because he got a goal. Ovechkin rarely takes more than 6, and here you are spouting off numbers of 20-30. What drug are you on? As for defensive stats, wingers aren't relied on to play defense as much as centers are. Crosby has a responsibility to play defense that he neglects. Ovechkin has no such responsibility. That sounds like Sid not being a team player

Crosby averaged 28 seconds of PK time per game, good for 492nd in the league. If that makes Crosby good defensively, I guess Matt Beleskey, Jeff Carter, and Brian Sutherby, among others, are top players defensively, right?
