The reason Norwegian disney ongs often souds very good is because norwegian is very musical, it comes very natural for us (the norwegians) to sing because norwegian is just made like that.
Thanks for the video and its a beautiful song but there is one word wrong in your translation x3 It's easy to mistake tre to be tree or three, but I'm sure in this case it should be "tree".
this is one of my favourite versions. i think norwegian is the most beautiful language of the scandinavion languages. it sounds so pure and i love scandinavion languages.
This version is very good, thanks for the lyrics. I think that the french version is the best (ok I'm French lol) and for me Laura Mayne (the singer) looks like Pocahontas . If you curious, the link to the French version with english translation: /watch?v=E4psaucrlJQ
@AliceSacco Good luck, it's damn hard to learn. I'm Norwegian, I've tried to learn Spanish, French and Japanese and I've had 12 years of English in school (normal), and I still think Norwegian is damn hard compared to them.
im from US.. heard Swedish and Norwegian version, the norwegian one i much better, and it looks like the norwegian language is much cleaner and better too.
I love how she sings, because me as a German who has barely started learning Norwegian, I can understand some of the things she sings without looking at the lyrics! =)
how is it that Norway is connected to Sweden yet all you have your own language..I mean I do understand and then I don't at the same time..can Norwegians understand Swedish
@silenteyesspy France and Germany share boarders, but they don't have the same language at all. So what's your point? Read some linguistics first, and you'll understand why different countries have different languages, dialects and such. It's all pretty logical.
Beautiful song, I remember when I listened to this as a kid and not understanding even half of the words or the message it carries. Truly a beautiful song with awesome lyrics! :D
"gavn" has the optional form "gagn", with a pronunciation similar to "gang", but with an extra "n" I'm wondering if that's the form she's saying at 0:52, not sure though;p
At 1:06, she's saying "Mens hvis du følger faret ("et far"=path) til en fremmed", meaning "but if you follow the path/tracks of a stranger".
This movie is the best Disney movie. It makes me feel so good, and this song is so right about everything. It's beautiful and so spiritual, it's wonderful. The colors of the wind - it's such a great concept, and this movie is all about nature and love and taking care of planet earth and the people. Amazing movie ♥
I love listening to some of my favorite songs in Norwegian, and I like the fact they have the translation under it, so it's neat to compare this version to the English version, and see how different the words can be when sung in another language.
Norwegian, swedish, danish , dutch and german belong to the one group of languages in europe. And some others too but I don't remember now which ones. I know only german and I also understand some parts. (I don't speak german natively)
I've seen this movie thousands of times and because of this norwegian version I finally noticed that there is lynx's face at 1:19 because she sings "seen the lynx smile in the starry sky" :DD I have never noticed it before 'cos in Finnish version she sings "the reason why lynx cat laughs" (I'm from Finland) always learn something new xD
Love it^^ Bare en kommentar: Du oversatte men hvis du følger faret til en fremmed, med "of you follow danger which leads to a stranger". Faret er et annet ord for veien, det riktige vil være "if you follow the footsteps of a stranger". Se f.eks. den engelske versjonen.
This sound weird, cuz I understand it all, but it's not the language i'm uset to. Swedish is still the best! :D But this is the second best. Heja Norge!! :P
