The masks were to protect identities b/c of Scientology's insidious past of having people sent to jail for protesting. Granted, some people were more vocal than others, but I haven't heard anything about there being leaders in the cause. In any case, the important thing here is the message, not the masks, which seem to be only a precaution, and by the sounds of it, anonymous' message echoed well around the world.
The few people that I know that did go to the protest are hardly what I'd call welfare moochers. They are hard working individuals like you or I who believe in spreading the message of something they stand for. It's just downright rude to make an unfounded accusation like you did, and like the video's author said, just plain bigoted. Besides, what would people on welfare have against Scientology? As a fellow Vancouverite, you probably already know, David, that Vancouver has the distinct reputation for having paid protesters at WTO, G7, Anti-Poverty & PETA rallies. Now even the Chinese gov't pays professional "greeters" to welcome controversial Chinese delegates at YVR. This is my point.
