with Dan as Finch, he's more interesting as a character for me- I even think he sings like Finch would. That's based on my interpretation of what the character Finch should be, kind of goofy, but everyone's free to make their own judgements and choose their fave actor
@summerluverr Are you kidding? Nick Jonas just did a DAMN fine job. Read some of the other comments. Some of the people who've seen both prefer Jonas, and I couldn't care less about him.
@bangsmoke I saw some of Jonas' stuff and I agree thats he's awesome, but his performance of this on Fallon lacked a lot compared to this video here. Jonas didn't have enough emotion and he wasn't convincing at all, at least in this I believe in Radcliffe's character and he's committed- maybe it was just his performance on Jimmy Fallon but that's what I was comparing to this.
When I went to see it and Dan said "eyes of a seeker", I'm surprised he didn't see me and my friend sitting in the second row of center orchestra smiling like idiots!
I think that Daniel was much better for this role. I my opinion, he brought more life to the character, was funnier, and he sang in a less contrived and a more honest way than Darren did.
Everyone's talking about who's better in this song. And I'm just freaking out because there's an amazing French Horn part. (I'm a french horn player.)
@pinkllama19 yep yep. What are your views on what Nick might have to offer? I respect Nick Jonas. The Jonas Brothers kind of pigeonholed him as a teeny bopper guy but he by himself is so much more.
@VRNProductions I guess it doesn't in a way. But seriously think about it: if you want to get a HUGE profit in reviving an old show from the 60s called, "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying", a show with a name like that would definitely get a large, supple audience in current times...hence, you need a big name for a boost! I know that's the reason I went to go see it :p
@Roccarocks Oh, yeah, I understand the business aspect of it perfectly. My point is it didn't seem like they tried very much to make the rest of the show particularly good...
Isn't he singing this song to himself in the mirror? xD I laugh at the people who imagine that he's singing this to them, because it's all about himself.
This is a great attempt, but I still prefer Robert Morse. Daniel doesn't seem to be able to sustain the notes in the same way, so this sounds a little rushed compared to the other.
You know what, he's awesome. His voice has this lively quality. It's unique but that's why it's so refreshing. "Haters gotta hate, but that's only because they ain't got no love in their hearts" -Old Lady I saw on the Subway Last Week. BTW I couldn't help but laugh the first time he said "Seeker". Sorry Dan.
I loved the show and thought that Daniel Radcliffe & John Larroquette were fabulous! (Especially the Old Ivy Number) And I can't believe what a terrific voice Daniel has. He was so amazing he got a 5 minute ovation at the curtain call!!!!
@dog1197 ur an embarassment to broadway lol i dont think they care what anyone thinks. This show is still famous regardless of anyone's petty opinion. who are U? nobody knows, nobody cares. But this show is really good =)
@purplegirl353 i wish that happened when i went! but there was an old lady next to me, who said very loudly, "oh! thats....thats....thats....that harry....what is it? potter?" in the middle of the first act

Anyone else think that if the revival didn't star Radcliffe, it would've completely tanked?
VRNProductions 1 month ago
@VRNProductions Exactly! That was the point in making sure a big star always plays Finch :)
