Sorry to disappoint but I don't make 4 million a year. However yes I am white, have educated myself by working hard in school getting a degree in economics. I have been very responsible with the money that I have made and the decisions that have made as well, personal and business. One of the SEC investigative teams that had examined the Madoff firm was headed by a Eric Swanson. Eric Swanson was in a relationship with Madoff's niece, Shana Madoff during that time, and they eventually got married. Eric was ordered by the SEC chairman that any SEC officials must remove themselves from the investigation if they had "more than insubstantial personal contacts with Mr. Madoff or his family. Obviously he didn't, but instead helped to give Madoff a free pass. SEC = corrupt

2. "enforcers" are useless if on a career path and too cozy with the industry.

3. Regulation breeds public complacency and false confidence - a breeding ground for corruption.

4. The connected and powerful can always change the regulations to suit themselves (ala 1999 Glass-Steagal repeal).

I'd say there's deep, systemic problems at the SEC-why does it always take a disaster before any govt agency is forced to acknowledge and fix its problems? Over and over again they just ignore all the warnings, and now with Obama we will have govt controlling more and more of our economy and lives when its proven that govt agencies suck at what they are already supposed to be doing.
