@isaacsac5 Yes, but he had Thomas' whistle. I cut Edward out because he appears twice in the opening viaduct scene. James should have a chance for screen time, I felt, and besides, I couldn't load Trevor on a flatbed. Honestly, I'm not that worried about nitpicks like this. It's MY version of a classic story. Take it or leave it.
I'm very impressed with this :) I realize that when something is being adapted from a book there's less pressure since narration and things like that can be spread out but when doing it with Tv series narration you want to get it to the same length as the original episode; for your first this is very good! Nice job with the footage too; never understood why James had a good's train in the original; unless there was maybe parcels or something Thomas' train needed to take but ah well :)
I think that the moral of this story should be "cut your friends slack when they can't help being late," rather than what it was. But that's just me. This is a great remake. Henry and James will be glad to not be given any grief from Thomas now.
@HereYouGoDev In my view, the moral is that you shouldn't let petty things like keeping to time destroy a friendship. Thomas and Bertie bonded over their big race. Like true friends, they do bicker from time to time, but Thomas learns that just because you're angry with someone or about something doesn't mean you should hesitate to lend a helping hand. If you read the book this comes from, that's the lesson that ties all four stories together.
Was thinking just the other week "if someone adapted this story using Trainz, how would they do the scaffolding for the viaduct sequence?" Looks like you managed it quite nicely though!
Brilliant video overall. Used different enough angles to the original TV ep to keep my interest throughout. :-)
@TheKipperRunsAgain Good grief, that scaffolding! It was probably the hardest part of filming this episode. The measurements have to be very exact in order to match up, and the riverbed below the arches is uneven.
Very nice as always C812! Very nicely done RWS-style TVS episode you got there! And a very unique birthday present for Mr. Awdry! Never would have thought of that!
what station is that at 2:52.

This episode is wrong. Edward is the first engine in the first scene. Not James.

a brilliant new remake with a rather meaningful title...better to have a new remake once in a while than none at all!
