Paul is a beast. He knows his shit on EVERYTHING when it comes to the political arena. He is bulletproof. This whole interview was designed to find flaws in his policies. Every time he explains himself he makes total sense. I have to think even Russert must have come away from this blown away by how Paul defused all his verbal grenades. Paul will be on Meet The Press again 10/23/11 can't wait.
How long would you continue to patronize a doctor or health care provider that overcharged you? It would only take 1 time for me, and they would have to convince me that I needed what they were selling. They also wouldn't be able to charge $15 for an aspirin, or other materials/services they did not deliver if the bill came directly to me. (I check my VISA statement and phone bill every month too) Competition for customers makes all the difference - quality up, price down.
Tim Russert was a tough interviewer, and he will rightfully always be remembered for that. Paul flubbed on a lot of those questions in that interview; I never considered him to be the best communicator of his beliefs. But dammit, he's got principles and he sticks to them. I wrote him in in 2008, and I'll do it again in 2012, no matter who is the nominee.
I agree with almost all of his stance, the only thing i am worried about is his plans of getting rid of the department of education. Does he suggest to just replace it with private education? any good resources on his 2012 doctrine?
haha russert tried to be like "ha he never said that" and then ron paul was all like "im always a step ahead of you, he did say that, they were wrong"
I think my favorite part of these videos is at the very very end when Paul chuckles. Ok, not really my *favorite* part, but it definitely put an even bigger smile on my face :)
Tim did a great job in this interview. He asked him tough questions and pointed out a few inconsistencies in Paul's platform over the years. Paul of course handled himself admirably. This is an example of real politics that you don't really see much anymore. RIP Russert. Hopefully Paul can pull off a win in 2012 if he's running.
i think tim did the right thing being tough on ron paul. it made ron paul look like someone who knows what the hell is going on. that interview would have crushed macain. puppet
Ron Paul is God. I hope he gets the Republican Nomination in 2012. He would destroy Obama in the debates especially now that Barack has broken every promise that he made us. Obama is fucked with out his teleprompter. He got the Democratic nomination because he's black and he was running against Hillary. All he had to do was sit back and let Hillary run her stupid cunt mouth to win that nomination.
I don't see a debate, all i see is a bunch of cheap gotcha/ "who said what" questions that Ron Paul destroys anyway. This wasn't a helpful interview and I didn't learn anything more about Paul's philosophy or any legitimate challenges. This is almost as shameful as the Bill O' Reilly v Obama interview. Why should I care about what Ron Paul used to think Reagan, Bush or Bush? How is that relevant. They were all assholes, I know, but what does this tell me about Ron Paul?
Man he threw so many tough questions at Paul.... Paul just tore them up like it was just another day in the office.... I call that Verbally raping.... I love this guy HE is HONEST, and is PROUD of NOT voting for his own party!!! I love it!!! You can't find people that have a R or a D in front of there name that will not vote for there own party... Paul has MORALS!
Tim Russert was throwing low blows what a cheap bastard,Ron Paul's ideology is solid and even Tim had no chance. Ron is the true voice of the American people, and look what happened every thing he said came true. Too bad Tim's not alive today so Ron could shove that in his fat face.
From 6:01 until the end, he predicts the future. This was in 2007, and he says "big government in bed with big business" just like Obama is doing now by buying into banks and auto companies and who knows what else and what's more to come. Ron Paul is the man, and the best hope of saving this country.
Ron Paul is one of the only politicians that we can truly trust! Tim Russert gave an excellent interview and in his style, tried to challenge stuff that Ron Paul has said and as expected, Ron Paul answered every question honestly, as always. Ron Paul 2012! R.I.P., Tim Russert.
I've never seen RP challenged like that before. I am surprised they both remained civil during that entire interview, considering the topics and Russert's bringing up of anything RP had said or done during his political career that could be potentially damaging to his reputation and character. I give much respect to both men.
I like what he says about Reagan's failure of bureaucracy. It's well documented in Richard Feynman's "What do YOU care what other people think" When working as a commissioner in the Challenger Investigation.
I'm not a republican, but I would be embarrassed to be one. I wish Ron Paul would clean up the party. I wish he succeeds eventually. The Republicans are hypocrits now.
The first time I saw it I thought Dr Paul mopped the floor with Tim. Like always at first I was cringing then after a while I noticed Dr Paul not even flinching when answering. As uaual all his answers made perfect sense. Such a treat listening to Dr Paul. He has too much experience in debate to lose.
I would say this was hands down the most lively Meet The Press interview with Tim Russert. I know there have been hot moments before but this was a completely philosophical debate, and it seems Tim tried his hardest to contradict, with every single question...and Ron Paul stood his ground and answered everything with accuracy with equal energy.
It was also a highly unique interview being there were no commercial breaks and an extended interview, the producer must have known this is good tv.
That was a really good interview, I'm glad I watched it again. I remember when I first saw it when it aired I felt bad for Ron Paul after, but now that I have seen it all these months later, I see how well he explained things, good job Dr Paul and thanks Tim for asking some good questions
Good vigorous debates are good, yes. But make no mistake about it, Russert was a media elitest and his so called tough questionswere nothing of the kind. He was as most in jounalism today are, a puppet. Not to mention a jesuit. That being said, I wish his family well.
Tne Movie by Aaron Russo, Freedom to Facsim, should be seen by all freedom loving Americans.
Russert asked tough questions and Ron Paul, as always, handled them well. I don't see the need for anybody to attack either one of them. That is what a vigorous political debate is all about. Where Russert had older or off-base informaton... Paul corrected him with style.
The sad thing is that Obama and McCain will no longer be subject to such a vigorous grilling. A summer and fall of softball questions await... and we will be the ones that pay the price for it.
If people were only paying attention months back. So now we are stuck with McBush or Obama. what a great choice. at least hillery is out. Dam Too Bad that Ron has finaly removed himself from this play. Remember you can still right in your vote.
Yeah and your voice will be heard that way ROFLMAO. You can spend your life trying to fix it, I say just pursue happiness however you want. Any law that comes in your way, DISOBEY. I am all for dead cops, they are criminals with victims. Who can protect us from them?
If I had never seen this interview I probably would have said Tim Russert was a good journalist. But this interview really openned my eyes to how...biased the media is. It was clear that Tim and the producers wanted to stick Ron with knives. Where was this line of questioning when Dick Cheney, Rice, Powell, Bush, and other traitors were on his show.
Nope. My opinion of Russert is that he was no better than the rest...a defender of the warfare/welfare state.
What a fucking scoundrel fat tim was! He could ATTACK RON HARSHER THAN ALL HIS GUESTS COMBINED, BUT HE COULD NOT ATTACK HIS OWN WEIGHT PROBLEM, DIET which proved to be HIS FATAL FLAW. As much as he "loved" his FATHER and FAMILY if u can call it that, really it was more of an OBSESSION LIKE FOOD WAS FOR HIM! He was a corrupt D.C. shill. That's all. Only other shills like him are praising him on TV.
And I'm not surprised that you think that those who derail the USA's best path, and support their ivy league shoe ins should be disregarded and unchallenged. He was not a good curator of the power vested to him. Nauseating you are.
Very sad news, Mr. Russert has died of a heart attack around three hours ago.
This is so shocking and sad, we have lost a great journalist. Meet the Press with Russert as host will go down in history as one of the best political programs.
I always found it omnious when he told Ron to "stay safe on the campaign trail", but I would have never imagined the day after Ron drops out of the race it would be Russert who passes on.
I would like to see Russert ask hard ball questions like this to his man Obama who he is in love with! Russert is joke and I can't stand him. He is an arrogant fat puff ball!
Ron Paul is a great American no doubt about that but I will hate Tim Russert from now on for the way he treated Ron Paul in this interview. It's not what kind of questions he asked but how he asked the questions. Sure Bias.
Reagan campaigned on a great platform, but the administration is nearly identical to Bush 41 and 43.
The Reaganites were the same cast of Neo-Con sh1ts like Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz, Kissinger, Abrahms, Reich, Libby, Feith, Bolton, Wurmser...
As always, Dr Paul never panders and calls it like he sees it. Takes courage to call out Reagan and Lincoln for who they were.

If Ron Paul gets in our nation will suffer as a whole as programs are cut like we have not seen in many years. He may save us some tax money but to what price will we pay for that savings....
Ron Paul did excellent through out the entire interview. I would give him a 9 out 0f 10, 10 being the best.
I got a bit concerned about the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which I'm not to familiar but, I think if this was a Grappling match I would say Ron Paul won by Arm-bar.
Dr. Ron Paul is very much aware of what is going on in America today. He handled himself well, but the media again protected the Federal Government Slave trade, When the media address the issue of Slaves in America, the boarders will be closed. EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW IS A FABLE. Total Government is coming soon. The next president in America will not be elected. The government will pick their puppet. America being controlled by a Clan, not it's people.
Tim Russert was critical of Dr. paul from the beginning, seerking ANY negativity he possibly could and it DID NOT WORK! This is a clear example of media bias and blackout. Down with corporate facism and media bias and oppression! ROn PAUL 2008!
Tim says: "You were asked about this on...CNN" It's fox! Hm...if you 're so lazy to report accurately, no wonder everything you threw at Ron didn't stick!
There's a national media blackout of presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul. There's no other explanation when you study his campaign accomplishments. You probably didn't hear it on the news, but he finished second in Maine, Nevada, and Louisiana and won 25 percent of the vote in Montana, 21 percent in Washington and North Dakota, 17 percent in Alaska, and 16 percent in Minnesota, and in a few of these contests he beat McCain. This clearly qualifies him as a serious candidate.

Why do morons still believe Ron Paul can win? He doesn't have ANY delegates or states. John McCain needs 100 delegates to win the Republican nomination. Do you people even know the election process?
You are entitled to your opinions for sure, but McCain is farther than 100 delegates away, and Ron Paul has somewhere between 16 and 48 delegates. It is highly unlikely that he will win, that is obvious, but don't criticize people for their support when you can't even get some facts straight.
meh i dont think Russert went too hard on him. he definatly tried to hit him down, but Ron paul has a clean record, and for the most part hasnt gone back on any of his views. you could tell they really had to dig to find bad stuff on Ron, and ron could still wiggle outa their hold even then. ron preformed well here. as for russert, he musta been a little tired, or knew this was a losing battle, because he seemed non-agressive or tired (unlike usual).
He lectured paul, like he was in highschool or something. He tried so hard to make him look like a quack, but paul is speaking 100% truth. Something Russert and his faux "news" channels has never heard of. It's good to see Paul school him.
I cannot believe how rigged out these questions are to try to make Ron look bad... like seriously are any other candidates put through this kind of shit??? these interviewers like Mr Tim Twat should be ashamed that they have been bought and have sold their souls. Way to stay solid Ron you put that douche bag and whoever is controlling him in their places... in the sewers where shit belongs.
FYI...we have plenty of check cashing stores in west palm beach....Now on the island is a different story. The Island of PALM BEACH is where the elite stay. =) RON PAUL 2008!!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. An eletist who want LESS government. LMAO. An eletist who does NOT want prices to be government controlled, or regulated. hahahahaha.
What's next am I a japanese woman? LMAO
So how much is mccain paying you? You neocon tool.
This guy is such a Neo con puppet. It's obvious he spent hours compiling ways to try and destroy Ron Paul. All the questions he asked were loaded as hell.
'SAVE-MART' is the example you give???!!! LMAO!!! You are truly a dumbass.
The 'Save-Marts' and the 'Wal-Marts' of America will save us all, and provide good paying jobs with good benefits, etc. ... NOT!!! God, you're stupid.
'ThomasJS1', you're such a pathetic simpleton! FYI, there has been, and is, a HUGE 'paradigm shift' occuring on the job front. The offshoring of once good paying U.S. industrial jobs to places like China and India has created mostly low-wage service jobs (i.e. 'Save-Mart', etc.) in it's wake. Now *TWO* wage-earners are often necessary in families to make ends meet! Many 'slip thru the cracks'. THAT is the 'welfare state' modern day globalism creates in many countries! WAKE UP!
Whomever has the money has the power. We used to have a stronger middle class. My father supported us as much as he could on a one income family. We struggled. My grandfather supported my grandmother, my mother and her siblings and they struggled less. It is just an observation.
Dictionary: An economic system based on a free market, open competition, profit motive and private ownership of the means of production. Capitalism encourages private investment and business, compared to a government-controlled economy. Investors in these private companies (i.e. shareholders) also own the firms and are known as capitalists
Me: Open competition leads to more companies opening trying to make money. Which in turn leads to more jobs opening up at every level.
E.G.
Recently Save-Mare bought out over 100 Albertsons in my area. When they did they needed to hire more employees to handle the new customers. New cashiers, baggers, analysts, ect.
While Albertsons with the income from selling there other stores opened new stores in other areas creating new jobs.
Thus creating more jobs and reducing the welfare prob
And your point (IF you have one) is?? Capitalism SHOULD be a healthy MIX of government AND free-enterprise is what I was saying. Paul would want to go TOO FAR in privatizing virtually everything, which would be disastrous (imagine the conflicts of interest in the FDA, FCC, FAA, etc., for example)!
Oh come on! We should let corporations and industries regulate themselves!! What do you think would happen? Businesses would cut corners and offer less-than-safe products or services because it's cheaper to run the business that way, resulting in more profits for the companies? Yeah right!! Businesses would do such a good job at regulating themselves!
You have the concept correct, only you are not thinking it through properly. Corporations DO run on profits and if and when they offer an unsafe, overpriced, or less than quality product, consumers will no longer buy that product. That is how the market (consumers) regulate big business.
You're a grand WASTE of my time you cretin! My arguments and reasons as to why Paul is a JOKE were stated in previous posts. If you have a basic modicum of reading comprehension, you would have garnered the fact that I think government and NATIONAL law IS necessary to serve us and to provide 'checks and balances', and that unfettered, GLOBAL capitalism is leading us down the wrong road, as currently manifested. Paul is DONE anyway. He's TOAST. LOL!
But I'll play your game. I will go back 3-5 pages and look for any Cohesive point you may have made.
But I doubt I'll find anymore than, "Fuck Him" "Idiot" or "Global Capitalism" yet with no proof or even examples proving the global capitalism. I will admit we're in Corporate capitilism which is NOT real capitalism. But RP wants to change that. Yet the willingly blind fools like yourself refuse to see the shit-hole you are diving into. Time to refute any claims you have against RP.
'ThomasJS1', 'you talk in circles'! You sound like a 'broken record' (remember those?)! Being a constitutional 'hardliner' and eliminating government is NOT the answer to all our challenges and problems! Having an EFFICIENT 'mixed economy' and some 'protectionism' IS! We have become more 'divided' with more national type laws decided at the 'state level'!!
Now for the rest to lazy to go back a page or more. A demonstration of Sopies maturity level. Quotes:
"Ron Paul only got like 3% of the vote during tonight's Florida primary (HA HA HA HA HA). " why come to his video and insult if it does'nt matter? Possibley to discredit him?
Well back to the quotes.
"LOL! You went to high school with YOUR MOM!"
"Let Ron Paul suck those STD infested NADS"
Yes you were responding to a childish ass, but you made yourself a childish ass in the process
I am tired of anti-ron sheople not being able to come up with a decent arguement against him.
Sophie, those comments or those like them are the only comments I see from you on this video.
When you decide to Actually give a good reason why Not to support a man who stands for some pretty damn good principles. I will gladly debate you on it.
But please keep it fact based. So far I have seen only quoting of poll or early caucus results all the rest as been lies or insults.
And by looking at your previous oh so enlightened posts on this video I can see using logic and facts don't work.
Perhaps I should start insulting Yo Momma or telling you to suck something?
What do you find it troublesome when some one actually puts forth valid arguements that you have to use lie. And I quote "MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR WASTE OF A WAR GOING ON IN IRAQ STARTED BY THIS REPUGNICAN IDIOT FOOL" Last I checked RP has been against it frm the start, but correct me if history changed.
There is a enormous amount of support for Ron Paul on the internet. Breaking a record for most money made in a sigle day on a single campaign; a Constitutionalist who wants nothing but the betterment of AMERICA and the liberties that it stands for. Yet, in the states that have already shown the nation who they want to represent them in the white house, only Nevada has shown the support for him that was more than support by ACTION.On super tuesday we all can do our best and support him by ACTION!
there's that "will you run as independent" shit again. man, we should just finalize what we're right for assuming and shoot all these fucking payed off news hosts, one by one
You're right. What IS this guy doing the interview?! He sounds like he's wounded half the time, like he just can't believe that someone would go against the Patriot Act and other clearly fascist policies. The host has definitely been bought.
Ron Paul only got like 3% of the vote during tonight's Florida primary (HA HA HA HA HA). Jim Jones... er, I mean Ron Paul supporters... GIVE IT UP!!! The assclown isn't even a blip on the radar at this point!!!
Ofcourse, they have to do that to him. Or atleast guys like Tim. He clearly "Hates" Paul. Instead of really talking about the issues and Pauls views, he try's to belittle Paul and his positions.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ron 'SHAM' Paul should go back to Texas, stay there, and deliver babies. The man is a 'pig with lipstick'. Thank God he hasn't fooled more than he already has!!!
'u2ci2i', DREAM ON! Ron Paul stands about as much of a chance of winning the ticket as Pee Wee Herman does! Thankfully, most Americans see through his empty, idealistic and impractical, masturbatory RHETORIC!
Of course it's not impractical bozo, but you FANATICS think it exists in a vacuum! We NEED to pay taxes you unpatriotic copouts! Just look at how much this illegal Iraqi invasion costs, while our bridges and infrastructure is collapsing! Government is NOT the enemy you morons! It's what we DO with tax money that shows how civilized, or uncivilized we are!!!
Overspending and monetizing deficits is unsound and leads to chaos. Educate your vapid mind, refine your vocabulary, and stop spewing your trash over the internet. You are an embarrassment.
So you think privatization is a panacea and a cure for all our ills you pathetic, 'tow the line' idiot?? 'Libertarianism' is nothing more than 'unbridled uncontrolled Capitalism'. The sucking sound of jobs being offshored to India and China will be ten times what it is now under fools like Ron Paul! He's a fucking NAZI!
You are pathetic. You have no idea what I just said, because you haven't addressed any of it. Keep spouting your welfare state, isolationist, socialist, inflationist garbage.
Read Ricardo on comparative advantage if you actually want to discuss this issue in an educated manner. But you don't, so keep wasting your life in complete ignorance. Good day.
Look fucktard, modern-day Capitalism is in DECLINE bigtime! We have nearly 50 mil with NO healthcare insurance, RECORD numbers of incarcerated, an illegal invasion of Iraq based on LIES, RECORD numbers of bankruptcies/foreclosures, the most depression and alienation of all advanced western nations (this was in last weeks 'NY Times'), and 1 of 5 U.S. children going to bed hungry. Global Capitalism DOES NOT WORK! Paul is for more of the same insanity. So GO FUCK YOURSELF 'Paul loser'!
Capitalism is crumbling because of a created Welfare state. In the last 100 years of America, they have gone away from what the Founders had spoken about. Its not a principle of Communism vs socialism vs Capitalism. All these things can work if you run it actually on the philosophy stands for. This is what most dont understand.
BS! Capitalism CREATES a 'welfare state'! 'Welfare' is nothing more than a manifestation of people in need, in a system that has failed them, for whatever reason. Just look at some of our elderly that have to make a decision between having to pay for needed meds OR heating their home or apt! Many played by the rules... and are in trouble now.
The system has created this. Paul talks about this in his book. Its bad policy. The federal government spent from the social security trust funds and other such things and by bad policy has caused the cost of living to go up at a 10% rate of there savings while they are only getting 2 %. YOu obviously cant win that way. That could be easily fixed if we didnt create the welfare state by having a trillion dollars a year spend on our empire here in America across the sea.
Do you have a spare tinfoil hat? Seriously, I've heard lunatics talking to lamp posts that make more sense than you.
Please take just one class in economics and then come back.
And yes capitalism does work IF done properly.
But your solution for all this bad stuff happening is to elect some one who will continue doing what's already been done, instead of some one who Actually knows about economics and how to make capitalism work?
The only 'lunatics' you've probably heard are within your own, and Ron Paul's party! Americans everywhere are disenchanted with politics and the current system, so they think Paul is the 'savior', so to speak. He is NOT.
Actually RP is one of the 3 ppl I was supporting. I decided on him because his voting recording is consistant with his platform and because I agree with most of what he says.
BTW you could've come up with a better come back insult, I'm a bit disapointed. And I NEVER claimed him a savior but, he sure as hell is better than the other candidates.
And the only lunatics I've heard are ppl that support the warmongering Democrats or the other GoP hopefuls. BTW they ALL voted for the war.
As far as the idea we need income tax, companies make money with not much to start. Most make good money w/smart investments and the federal can do this and they do. They can sell bonds and until they mature money mngr will have a substantial amount of money to play with. They can open businesses, invest in established businesses, etc. There's so many ways to generate income besides being handed it, however cutting our spending would help alot. There's so much fat that needs to be trimmed.
I completely agree. Has anyone even seen the business dinners politicians have on our tax dollars? Not to mention the pension programs they have that we pay for.
Yes idiot. The pork-barrell spending, business dinner, and pension programs need 'reworking', but PALE in comparison to the MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR WASTE OF A WAR GOING ON IN IRAQ STARTED BY THIS REPUGNICAN IDIOT FOOL!!! Now *THAT* should outrage you!
Interesting. And how is RP supporting that war when he voted AGAINST it?
If you even listen he says over and over again whenever asked that he wants to bring all 572,000 troops that are over-seas thereby saving the near to a trillion dollars a year spent on keeping them there.
And you call me an idiot for Actually knowing what I am talking about.
Please go do some research, and no watching CNN and Fox is NOT research and then come back to me with a cohesive arguement.
The constitution was set up to protect the people from a government. It granted us rights that could not be taken away. You need this to ensure we are always free. We believe that taking power away from the federal and putting it in the control of the state limits the damage a government can do and allows states to run themselves how they wish. We also believe that a free market is the best way to handle most services. Like with cell phone companies competition always benefits the consumer.
Ron Paul's presence is awakening the American Public to understanding that the rest of the world is swiftly looking at USA as the enemy, even our allies and neighbors. He is showing us that our government does not need to run the way it is, and that we, as a people, truly have a voice. Vote Ron Paul, my child's future depends on it.
RON PAUL was removed from the face of Swedish media at the same time as FOX banned him. They suddenly refused to print his name and on the websites you can vote for everyone except RON PAUL. Did I mention Sweden is a Marxist, socialist country with journalists and politicians that are proud of their use of censorship and "GOOD LIES"? Leading candidates in sweden are Obama and Hillary about 50/50. Dont vote like the MARXIST COMMUNISTS!
i don't understand why anyone would be looking at polls from other countries on a vote that they are not involved in. The opinions from Sweden are null and void. They are completely different. Maybe consider Canada's sensus, since they are also a democracy and most of their laws are similar - plus their money is worth more for the first time in 50 years approx. (not a coincidence)
Media is obviously controlled worldwide. They dont want people to talk about Ron Paul. I also think its ridicoulus that leftist media removed Ron Paul from polls that wont even have an effect on the election. Its just a fact that they did, I voted for him for fun, next day he was gone from the poll. USA is heading for an economic crisis, probably to open up discussions for North American Union. The same thing happened with most European countries before they joined EU.
You neocons and ultra-right winges are so utterly pathetic and deluded! You overuse and misuse the word 'socialist', and don't know what socialism means. The scandinavian countries, like most 'mixed economies', have their challenges, but they are WAY AHEAD of the U.S. when it comes to caring about their people! Get a clue!
Caring about our people? Our politicians tell us that we dont have a culture or country and that there never was a swedish people. They say that without hundreds of thousands of muslim immigrants we would still be stupid and ignorant. They censor media, crime reports and statistics, publish name lists of opposition and call them nazi, racist and then next week they hold a rally and urge everyone to crush all the nazis. Sweden and europe is turning to shit very fast.
I love how he refutes Tim's right at the end regarding Sinclair Lewis. BAM!!

Obama is fucked with out his teleprompter. He got the Democratic nomination because he's black and he was running against Hillary. All he had to do was sit back and let Hillary run her stupid cunt mouth to win that nomination.
DanielDamascusKimery 1 year ago
I don't see a debate, all i see is a bunch of cheap gotcha/ "who said what" questions that Ron Paul destroys anyway. This wasn't a helpful interview and I didn't learn anything more about Paul's philosophy or any legitimate challenges. This is almost as shameful as the Bill O' Reilly v Obama interview. Why should I care about what Ron Paul used to think Reagan, Bush or Bush? How is that relevant. They were all assholes, I know, but what does this tell me about Ron Paul?

From 6:01 until the end, he predicts the future.

Wow. That was amazing.
I've never seen RP challenged like that before. I am surprised they both remained civil during that entire interview, considering the topics and Russert's bringing up of anything RP had said or done during his political career that could be potentially damaging to his reputation and character. I give much respect to both men.

It was also a highly unique interview being there were no commercial breaks and an extended interview, the producer must have known this is good tv.
utubesucks2003 3 years ago 2
That was a really good interview, I'm glad I watched it again. I remember when I first saw it when it aired I felt bad for Ron Paul after, but now that I have seen it all these months later, I see how well he explained things, good job Dr Paul and thanks Tim for asking some good questions
mbrusstar 3 years ago 6
Good vigorous debates are good, yes. But make no mistake about it, Russert was a media elitest and his so called tough questionswere nothing of the kind. He was as most in jounalism today are, a puppet. Not to mention a jesuit. That being said, I wish his family well.
Tne Movie by Aaron Russo, Freedom to Facsim, should be seen by all freedom loving Americans.
acongagua 3 years ago
Russert asked tough questions and Ron Paul, as always, handled them well. I don't see the need for anybody to attack either one of them. That is what a vigorous political debate is all about. Where Russert had older or off-base informaton... Paul corrected him with style.
The sad thing is that Obama and McCain will no longer be subject to such a vigorous grilling. A summer and fall of softball questions await... and we will be the ones that pay the price for it.
RIP Tim Russert.

This is so shocking and sad, we have lost a great journalist. Meet the Press with Russert as host will go down in history as one of the best political programs.

Dr. Ron Paul is very much aware of what is going on in America today. He handled himself well, but the media again protected the Federal Government Slave trade, When the media address the issue of Slaves in America, the boarders will be closed.

MJamal15 4 years ago
You are entitled to your opinions for sure, but McCain is farther than 100 delegates away, and Ron Paul has somewhere between 16 and 48 delegates. It is highly unlikely that he will win, that is obvious, but don't criticize people for their support when you can't even get some facts straight.

And "Capitalism CREATES a 'welfare state"
Was the gist of your original comment on the subject. With a job you don't need to be on Wellfare. And it's a springboard 2 better pay
ThomasJS1 4 years ago
Or tax prep companies like H&R Block or Moneytree. I can use any company to make my point. Napkin factories, Car dealerships, come on pick one.
A lot of them have college tuition remursement programs. So not only do the generate more jobs but, they encourage continued education.
ThomasJS1 4 years ago
'ThomasJS1', you're such a pathetic simpleton! FYI, there has been, and is, a HUGE 'paradigm shift' occuring on the job front. The offshoring of once good paying U.S. industrial jobs to places like China and India has created mostly low-wage service jobs (i.e. 'Save-Mart', etc.) in it's wake. Now *TWO* wage-earners are often necessary in families to make ends meet! Many 'slip thru the cracks'. THAT is the 'welfare state' modern day globalism creates in many countries! WAKE UP!

You: Capitalism CREATES a 'welfare state'.
Dictionary: An economic system based on a free market, open competition, profit motive and private ownership of the means of production. Capitalism encourages private investment and business, compared to a government-controlled economy. Investors in these private companies (i.e. shareholders) also own the firms and are known as capitalists
ThomasJS1 4 years ago
Me: Open competition leads to more companies opening trying to make money. Which in turn leads to more jobs opening up at every level.
E.G.
Recently Save-Mare bought out over 100 Albertsons in my area. When they did they needed to hire more employees to handle the new customers. New cashiers, baggers, analysts, ect.
While Albertsons with the income from selling there other stores opened new stores in other areas creating new jobs.
Thus creating more jobs and reducing the welfare prob
ThomasJS1 4 years ago
And your point (IF you have one) is?? Capitalism SHOULD be a healthy MIX of government AND free-enterprise is what I was saying. Paul would want to go TOO FAR in privatizing virtually everything, which would be disastrous (imagine the conflicts of interest in the FDA, FCC, FAA, etc., for example)!
sophiegromit 4 years ago
Oh come on! We should let corporations and industries regulate themselves!! What do you think would happen? Businesses would cut corners and offer less-than-safe products or services because it's cheaper to run the business that way, resulting in more profits for the companies? Yeah right!! Businesses would do such a good job at regulating themselves!
Sarcasm aside, good point.
mts1583 4 years ago
You have the concept correct, only you are not thinking it through properly. Corporations DO run on profits and if and when they offer an unsafe, overpriced, or less than quality product, consumers will no longer buy that product. That is how the market (consumers) regulate big business.

ThomasJS1 4 years ago
You're a grand WASTE of my time you cretin! My arguments and reasons as to why Paul is a JOKE were stated in previous posts. If you have a basic modicum of reading comprehension, you would have garnered the fact that I think government and NATIONAL law IS necessary to serve us and to provide 'checks and balances', and that unfettered, GLOBAL capitalism is leading us down the wrong road, as currently manifested. Paul is DONE anyway. He's TOAST. LOL!
sophiegromit 4 years ago
Maybe but, so are antiqueted ideals like yours, and every other warmongers.

ThomasJS1 4 years ago
'ThomasJS1', 'you talk in circles'! You sound like a 'broken record' (remember those?)!

So do you have a spare tinfoil hat?

Are you kidding? How is Paul a nazi?
Stop making wild claims and get back in your box.

ThomasJS1 4 years ago
Now *THAT* should outrage you!
sophiegromit 4 years ago

Ron Paul totally undressed Tim Russert with honesty, integrity and principle.
Ron Paul has no chance of winning, but we absolutely, positively need him in the race.

(not a coincidence)
tillo2008 4 years ago

Get a clue!
sophiegromit 4 years ago
Caring about our people? Our politicians tell us that we dont have a culture or country and that there never was a swedish people. They say that without hundreds of thousands of muslim immigrants we would still be stupid and ignorant. They censor media, crime reports and statistics, publish name lists of opposition and call them nazi, racist and then next week they hold a rally and urge everyone to crush all the nazis. Sweden and europe is turning to shit very fast.

'oSPAZ79', just what in hell are you talking about??!! You make absolutely NO SENSE! You are talking out of your ass.
