Just because they lied to us about wmd's when we the world were vulnerable and scarred, doesn't mean the war was illegal. go and read the UN resolutions about the cease fire conditions. Iraqs failure to meet any of the terms of the cease fire menas any signator to it has the right to return to arms and restart the war. Saddam had a choice, Saddam is the only person responsible for the war.

The war was lega by UN definition, Saddam did not follow the cease fire agreements of the 1rst Gulf War. After 12 years of phucking around with him, enough was enough, 12 years and hundreds of billions spent. The right person went to jail and was hung at the end of a rope. What I really think is they were made wrong by mistake in Bangladesh or El Bonia or someplace and they didn't want to send them all back so they made up a bullshit line that doesn't made a damn bit of sense.
