  • jazzster -- thanks for the explanation. Re I got Rhythm changes and Anthropology -- there's a good video on You Tube of Bud Powell playing Anthro. 5 minutes plus in length, and he never looks at the keyboard -- amazes me.

I recently discovered Emily Remler on YT-- her early death due to an overdose was a senseless loss.

  • love the way she moves into "what is this Thing...." after stating Hot House tune. was this just a quote, or do both tunes have same chord structure? I'm not a musician - can someone who knows answer this question? thanks. - myheaven

  • @mytube7167 - yes they use the same chord changes. alot of bebop tunes were written over popular chord changes to other tunes. ornithology uses 'how high the moon' changes. there are quite a few bebob tunes written over I got Rhythm changes - Anthropology, Oleo, Rhythm-A-Ning are a few.

  • This was recorded May 1984 at the Four Queens Hotel, Las Vegas.

  • Thanks that sounds right.

  • I'm a "serious" Jazz Guitar Student and Emily Remier is a wonderful inspiration.
