  • BRING BACK SINEAD !!

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • I ADore Ms Oconnor. She INSPires me... so much From the first note I heard..... until today.... and hopefully in tomorrows.... She is a STAR above the Moon Thank you Sinead.

  • Love her voice, love Pope's pic tearing, love boldness. She is perfect !!!

  • all you hafta say is NAMASTE :)

  • People still on about her tearing up a photo of the King of the Paedophiles? Really?

  • I don't know shame in a flame ahahah sorry

  • Poets are never easily tolerated, and that's the sad truth. But their beauty will make up for all the bullshit that we bor(e)n.

  • Poets are never easily tolerated, and that's the sad truth. But their beauty will make up for all the bullshit that we bore.

  • @Ferg353 I love how she doesn't give a sh*t about being "popular" or well-liked. I admire that. She's amazing. Ppl joke that she's a has-been, and forgotten. THEIR loss. Losers. How can u deny the power of her first two albums? Listen to THEM and tell me ur not impressed.

  • I can't fault the woman

  • Maybe we should go to iTunes on her birthday (December *8) and push her to #1. A small gesture for doing something terribly silly and brave.

  • Sinead was right and she was demonized by nearly the entire world, well except for me and some others, I knew she was right. Fight the real enemy is still as true now as it was then.

  • After the incident of the photo, pope john paul II spoke with Sinead, and decame like good friends.

  • Judge not

  • She's a rock star. Rock stars do awesome legendary crazy controversial things.

  • Damn, this song is awesome! <3

  • Someone should rip up a picture of the current Pope - the head of the world's biggest paedophile ring. Kill the Pope. Fucking Nazi bastard! Fuck Catholicism. A TRULY evil organisation

  • @StigJensen123 what a cock

  • @StigJensen123 well said

  • @MrSexpistols1 yes I thought so

  • Well...........The 7 dislikes only proves one thing.........There are 7 very stupid people walking the planet with us smart ones.

  • kawalek niesamowity .zreszta jak plyta.

  • Moral relativism is dead. Please move on...

  • Fokin love this song and sinead.

  • brillllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • You know what I think about she tearing up that photo? I think it was genious.

  • Granted, maybe the business with the pope's picture was a little lacking in diplomacy. But even back then people knew that the pope was a gown-wearing show tune-humming shoe-collecting faggot and that all priests were Playgirl-reading Village People-loving nancy-prancy fancy-pantsy devil-worshipping bum-loving perverts. I think all reasonable people agree that the entire clergy should be executed. I guess you're not supposed to say that in public, but come on. We all feel the same way.

  • - I Know NO SHAME!!!!

  • Sinead ripped up th ephot in response to sexual abuse in the Catholic Churhc about five years before it was revealed in the U.S.

The worl owes her an apology for its reactionary response to her SNL appearance, because she was exactly right.

  • @mtippen she had apparently been abusived by a priest when she was in a children's home in ireland.

  • Fight the real enemy!

  • I ONLY want to hear her sing NOT bitch! She looks pretty good with hair now! Just muzzle her after and before each song! :)

  • @Nostams

...you sound like the bigger bitch, you don't deserve to hear her sing nor speak. : P

  • well done to her, the pope is a cunt

  • @aranterranting Straight to the point. I like it, the pope IS a cunt isn't he!

  • A beautiful and talented woman.

    Fabulous song.

  • sinead knew what was really going on in the catholic church thats why she ripped up the picture of the pope she did it as a protest against abuse within the catholic church.

  • @doctorw2

Everyone knew/knows what goes in the Catholic church.

  • Sinead mi piacevi così tanto....The Lion and the Cobra è uno dei dischi + belli della storia....peccato che poi 1 giorno ti sei persa nella religione!!!

  • Im Happy she ripped that picture! the more we rip the better we all will be!!

  • Who gives a fuck if she ripped that picture. This is fucken America you can do that because we believe in freedom of speech! Doesn't change the fact shes talented. Even though I don't condone what she did its her choice and her freedom!

  • She is very talented, I agree. One of the best live artists Ive ever seen in my life but as someone who was raised catholic, I do condone what she did. In light of all the sex abuse scandals in Ireland and stuff like the barbaric Magdalene Laundries, operated by the church, the Vatican are lucky all they've ever had to deal with is a torn picture of the Pope, from some people.

  • I love Sinead!

  • very talented woman . great song

  • Freedom is built on freespeech, let her do what ever the f**k she wants, rip up pics, shave her head, whatever, she is just excercising her beliefs. It is amazing how many people bash her for this..Everyone should express themselves

  • that was 20 years ago. why are people still talking about that? Let's talk about how great this song is and what a great voice she has. oh and she's hot.

  • she's actually beautiful no matter what.

  • This girl can sing . saturday night bull has nothing 2 do with talent. her beliefs have nothing 2 do with her singing. her views are her own. we may not agree with her, but that does not make her talent any the less.

  • @MegaWaylander

...so you don't agree that the Catholic Church has abused thousands of children around the world and needs to repent for it's own sins?

  • @Asuigeneris1

Sorry my friend the Catholic Church has been party to a great deal of pain and anguish for many millions of people all over the world. But a fail to see the conection with religion and this talented and gifted artist. As a none believer i do not believe in sin. Definition of Sin -

If a definition of sin is breaking God's rules, then what are His rules? What are God's moral standards of conduct? Show me a person who claims to know the mind of god and i will show youb a liar.

  • @MegaWaylander

The connection would be that she gave up a very promising career to speak out against something near & dear to her heart...the abuse of countless children by the Catholic Church in Ireland & the subsequent cover-up.

...she would never again have the opportunities afforded her talent, because of the choices she made.

That would be a huge connection to most people.

Sin is defined by those who define it, typically religious folk...but wrong is defined by society and conscience.

  • @Asuigeneris1

Im sorry my dear i have to disagree on your statement that she gave up a promising career to speak out against the church. she has admited that she has and is dealing with a serious mental illness called bipolar dissorder. As a psychiatric nurse who works in an acute admission ward i can assure you that most people with this illness canot deal with stressfull situations. I personaly think that her mental health problems were the major cause of her career being cut short.

  • @MegaWaylander

One, I am not your dear. LOL

Two, I am an NP...there is little you can assure me of.

...& being Bipolar doesn't automatically resign someone to not having the career of their choice.

She was vehemently scorned after her SNL gig, booed in Madison Square Garden...she just went home & continued with music there, the rest of the world was less accommodating.

...to state that her being Bipolar shut down her career is condescending, though you do seem to thrive on that. : P

  • @Asuigeneris1

    1) didnt mean to offend.

    2) whats an NP?

    3) I yeald to your higher knowledge on miss connor.

    4) a large % of the people i treat are seriously affected by bipoler to the extent they cannot function without medical assistance and after care.

    5) didnt mean to be condescending.

    6) lighten up. lol

  • @MegaWaylander

If someone is in an acute facility than they have likely bigger issues than even just being Bipolar, being Bipolar alone isn't a sentence to a crappy life...but many of the underlying issues that can come with the diagnosis can be, depression can of course be debilitating.

She's done many things in her life since the SNL gig, she is a mother of four & has put out seven discs since 1992 alone...we just see little of her, most of the world shunned her talent after that mess.

  • @Asuigeneris1

Ooops, an NP here in the States is a Nurse Practitioner...perhaps known as an APN where you are, not sure.

Oh and by the way, she was ordained as a Catholic Priest, she seems to take that very seriously...go figure.

  • @Asuigeneris1 I think the problem is sexy children

  • @BucktoothBob What a disgusting thing to say, even in jest!

  • @jmt8525 Thank you

  • @MegaWaylander I know! How can u deny her first two albums?

I HATE ppl who can't separate the ART from the ARTISt.

So stupid. They're two different things.

  • @MegaWaylander Agreed! :-)

  • What a song! What an artist!

  • When musical "artists" careers begin to take a dive they resort to doing controversial stuff. Too bad she had to pull that stupid stunt on Saturday Night Live.

  • No, tearing up that photo was an admirable and honest statement. If anything she did was stupid, it was underestimating the viciousness of religious people, who threatened her life over a photo of a guy in a dress.

  • @Huggermussus - Not to mention, how long did it take to give an apology...and there was none for her.

  • @Huggermussus she was obviously ahead of her time in ripping up that photo, what with all thats come out in the press about the catholic church in the last few years

  • @Huggermussus I loved it when Joe Pesci said "if she tried that on my show, I would have given her SUCH A SMACK !!!" Still cracks me up.

  • that was 20 years ago. why are people still talking about that? you must be old.

  • bet she could kick your ass.... boy

  • i am 55 years old and this is still one of my favorite songs!!!

  • she's so beautiful, i love irish music!

  • Seductive. Brilliant. I f...ng love it!

  • Na, turning her back is what makes her a star and the catholics know it, dumb bastards.

  • One of my all time favourite songs ever !!

  • Sinead was kinda scary - can't put my finger on why, I guess she looks kinda spazzy in her videos - I give her credit though for this song - I love it!

  • Screw that. She wouldn't be as alive as she is if she confined herself. A caged animal knows no life! Point taken though.

  • I am an Ulster Protestant. I am a religous biggott. Ms O'Connor is the bees knees. Brilliant. Genius.

  • Hell of a song & a voice. I thought she was going to be so good after hearing this when she 1st broke thru, but it didn`t really pan out as it should have for someone of her talent. : (

    A.B. Surrey, England.

  • i love this song, i was so 19ish and thought this song was so fresh and so cool, and i still think it is so camp and still love two freak out when i hear it, xx

  • wow never knew this was sinead o connor,,,wha a voice!!!!

  • Liminal <3

  • love slave

  • A crackin tune. Not heard it for years.

  • come to ireland. be real.

  • why are the irish so talented?

  • What's this song about? I know that Mandinka is an African tribe, but I don't understand how it fits into the song.

  • maybe she's using the reference to Mandika as a way to express her understanding of being repressed, enslaved and persecuted.... "I don't know no shame, I feel no pain, I can't see the flame." sounds like a cry of desperation.

Just a guess, and one interpretation, which I'm sure there are others.

  • I fell in love with her at first listen. She looks great bald (not that it matters to me). Much thanks for posting this.

  • as good as it gets guys

  • I do lke this song... :D

  • V'ger!

  • The Kirk unit must reveal the information!

  • einfach genial

  • She's pretty on that cover.

  • one of my very faves!makes u just wanna get up and dance.

  • Bloody Irish! Up to it again!!!!!

  • All of her CD's are wonderful.

  • full of joy and life

  • I remember in about '87 or '88, riding in a car with some friends after school, a rainy, winters day, and my friend Susan, sitting in the back seat, on my lap, and singing this song, along with the tape, in my ear.

    I've been hooked ever since!!!!!!

    Great Tune!!!!

  • I remember back in 87-88, bing in a car with a bunch of friends, on a cold reiny day in Sumter, SC, and my friend Susan, singing this beautiful song, along with the tape, to me.

    I've been hooked ever since!!!!

  • I remember riding in a car with friends in Sumter, SC on a rainy winter day, and my friend Susan singing this beautiful song to us. I was hooked at that point...
