Someone should rip up a picture of the current Pope - the head of the world's biggest paedophile ring. Kill the Pope. Fucking Nazi bastard! Fuck Catholicism. A TRULY evil organisation
Granted, maybe the business with the pope's picture was a little lacking in diplomacy. But even back then people knew that the pope was a gown-wearing show tune-humming shoe-collecting faggot and that all priests were Playgirl-reading Village People-loving nancy-prancy fancy-pantsy devil-worshipping bum-loving perverts. I think all reasonable people agree that the entire clergy should be executed. I guess you're not supposed to say that in public, but come on. We all feel the same way.
sinead knew what was really going on in the catholic church thats why she ripped up the picture of the pope she did it as a protest against abuse within the catholic church.
Sinead mi piacevi così tanto....The Lion and the Cobra è uno dei dischi + belli della storia....peccato che poi 1 giorno ti sei persa nella religione!!!
Who gives a fuck if she ripped that picture. This is fucken America you can do that because we believe in freedom of speech! Doesn't change the fact shes talented. Even though I don't condone what she did its her choice and her freedom!
She is very talented, I agree. One of the best live artists Ive ever seen in my life but as someone who was raised catholic, I do condone what she did. In light of all the sex abuse scandals in Ireland and stuff like the barbaric Magdalene Laundries, operated by the church, the Vatican are lucky all they've ever had to deal with is a torn picture of the Pope, from some people.
Freedom is built on freespeech, let her do what ever the f**k she wants, rip up pics, shave her head, whatever, she is just excercising her beliefs. It is amazing how many people bash her for this..Everyone should express themselves
that was 20 years ago. why are people still talking about that? Let's talk about how great this song is and what a great voice she has. oh and she's hot.
This girl can sing . saturday night bull has nothing 2 do with talent. her beliefs have nothing 2 do with her singing. her views are her own. we may not agree with her, but that does not make her talent any the less.
Sorry my friend the Catholic Church has been party to a great deal of pain and anguish for many millions of people all over the world. But a fail to see the conection with religion and this talented and gifted artist. As a none believer i do not believe in sin. Definition of Sin -
If a definition of sin is breaking God's rules, then what are His rules? What are God's moral standards of conduct? Show me a person who claims to know the mind of god and i will show youb a liar.
The connection would be that she gave up a very promising career to speak out against something near & dear to her heart...the abuse of countless children by the Catholic Church in Ireland & the subsequent cover-up.
...she would never again have the opportunities afforded her talent, because of the choices she made.
That would be a huge connection to most people.
Sin is defined by those who define it, typically religious folk...but wrong is defined by society and conscience.
Im sorry my dear i have to disagree on your statement that she gave up a promising career to speak out against the church. she has admited that she has and is dealing with a serious mental illness called bipolar dissorder. As a psychiatric nurse who works in an acute admission ward i can assure you that most people with this illness canot deal with stressfull situations. I personaly think that her mental health problems were the major cause of her career being cut short.
Two, I am an NP...there is little you can assure me of.
...& being Bipolar doesn't automatically resign someone to not having the career of their choice.
She was vehemently scorned after her SNL gig, booed in Madison Square Garden...she just went home & continued with music there, the rest of the world was less accommodating.
...to state that her being Bipolar shut down her career is condescending, though you do seem to thrive on that. : P
If someone is in an acute facility than they have likely bigger issues than even just being Bipolar, being Bipolar alone isn't a sentence to a crappy life...but many of the underlying issues that can come with the diagnosis can be, depression can of course be debilitating.
She's done many things in her life since the SNL gig, she is a mother of four & has put out seven discs since 1992 alone...we just see little of her, most of the world shunned her talent after that mess.
When musical "artists" careers begin to take a dive they resort to doing controversial stuff. Too bad she had to pull that stupid stunt on Saturday Night Live.
No, tearing up that photo was an admirable and honest statement. If anything she did was stupid, it was underestimating the viciousness of religious people, who threatened her life over a photo of a guy in a dress.
@Huggermussus she was obviously ahead of her time in ripping up that photo, what with all thats come out in the press about the catholic church in the last few years
Sinead was kinda scary - can't put my finger on why, I guess she looks kinda spazzy in her videos - I give her credit though for this song - I love it!
