@MaxFlared I would say that the term 'subconsciously' or worse 'unconsciously' needs to be questioned. How do you know what is conscious or not? @weedheader714420 Pleasure is ineffable, and therefore the search for pleasure is a search for the unknowable- let's get high, or get high on getting high, or get high on getting low- See that "Pleasure" can't be defined, and to hold the act of seeking pleasure equal to folly, and the attitude that pleasure seeking is bad, are equally acts of foolishness.... because one may take pleasure in not taking pleasure- Sounds like double talk... because it is- pleasure is a transient state of being.
Pleasure is "associated" with-to anything at any moment, just as pain. And physical pain and pleasure mirror emotional pain and pleasure in such a way that they are chemically the same to your brain. or is it the biological mind (the self), that by means of thought, seeks for what it thinks is pleasure?
therefore, building memories and so called experiences, therefore building the Ego?
Addictions start when the mind (self), in search of an escape or pleasure, accepts an action, image or thought as a fact, therefore as a fact, it becomes a reality, to be stored in our ego.

@O2streaming Thank's you for you point of view i agree with it ,you are right pleasure is a state of mind that is not the same for all but all the same in the way that we tend too chase it instead of living it (well in my opinion)
@weedheader714420 Yep we appear to be chasing what we 'think' is pleasure but what we do is set our selves up for games of chance- These can be "language games," in the sense that they reveal that we embody a narrative existence. We live out a story in our thoughts and behavior, we may at any moment be other-directed or self directed, but in all cases we "think" we are living our life-story. And taking that as a gamble 50/50 chance of success around every turn of the plot, gives each a drama.
@O2streaming I meant that it has been discovered that we take the most pleasure in gambles that give a 50% chance of success/failure. So (in the mind at least) we live out very personal game of 50-50... in all we do-

I have to be free from all desires in my life to find an ultimate truth? But JK also said that truth is an endless path which has no end nor beggining,so it is different for everyone else, right?
I am a seeker of truth ..I think Krishnamurty experiences pleasure when he is speaking to a crowd, or is in a debate, or is around people who care what he thinks/says, I also feel he wants to be loved/appreciated..he seeks attention
@MrNohatin HIs mission in life was to help man be free of suffering. He did not seek attention. He did not seek to be loved or appreciated. He always said that he did not want anyone to worship him, he was not their guru, he wanted no followers. Like most people your petty, shoddy little mind and thought are getting in the way of your finding that which is immeasurable. Read K's book "The Awakening of Intelligence" and awaken.
@JazzyKat2009 You are right, i don't hold that opinion anymore. Everything that comes from a conditioned mind is irrelevant, redundant and it's only seeking it's miserable perpetuation. Thank you
@JazzyKat2009 He doesn't say it but he secretly wants to be admired and appreciated ..there's nothing wrong with that..I am not opposing him ..I do have one of his books and I quite like it
Dead Jesus 100....thanks fr saying I made a good comment earlier...I hope all of us are commenting and discussing and using our active brains.....its giving us some sort of pleasure...wouldnt it be wonderful if we also could influence others in a more positive way...like Krishnamurti did...I know he helped me when I was young and then I only read a couple of his books. its only now with internet I can actually see and hear the man...Wow. Of course he wanted to get us to see what he can see.
@DeadJesus100 I agree, there is something that is just not right with Murti. There's something that he can't just let go, i think it is his urge to make people see what he can see! Ironically, it seems that by doing this, he spoils the possibility of experiencing truth himself!
@rodrigojoseunb How do you know that he did not experience truth. I think what was wrong was that thoughts of people prevented them from understanding his message. If one listened without their conditioning and with an open mind, go into it themselves, then the truth of it will be found. And who the hell is "murti'?
anyway, what do you expected, the answer to all your problems? the one really important thing to understand is the value of questions, that can be answered only by yourself.
@DeadJesus100 The most important for me is his emphasis that truth can't ever be found through time. As Tolle beautifully put, ''we only need time to know that we don't need time at all''. But the mind tries all its tricks to make even ''enlightement'' a quest, a journey and, therefore, time-bounded. See the trap and be free. See right now, no judgment, because judgement implies time, implies a body of knowledge that came from the past, and past ist conditional, but truth is inconditional. yeah
@DeadJesus100 Why do we want to be free of thought? Isn't that an urge, a desire, sense of lacking and, therefore, a judgement? Which is conditional and from de the past? Could we just look at thought? Including the thought that we need to be free of thought?
I love what he says but as he says we must be sceptical....I wonder if he also found a kind of pride and pleasure in "abhorring all of that". It is such a trap to try to be "above all of that"...if we are truly human, in my opinion, we all have some agenda....It must have brought him some form of pleasure to sit there in front of all those people expounding his views and thinking aloud. I wish there were more like him today who would express their peaceful views and be so open.

Perhaps we haven't truly suffered. When we suffer fully, without escape, we see clearly the nonsense of our petty goals and ideas of selfish happiness, which cause sorrow. It's then, in this glorious death, that suffering changes; it's no longer identifiable as pain. It is beautiful. In superficial sorrow, like most of us, which is moping and complaining while isolating or running to every imaginable escape, we miss life and condemn ourselves and everyone around us to darkness.
the feeling of loosing the bond of love whichwas created through life spend with somebody, son or wife, how can i not suffer from that? i am beginning to think there is no cesation of suffering no extinction but only endurance, i endure suffering, and observe it, and feel it, thats all, while i am alive there is suffering, which some can be diminished if we have right awareness but there is some suffeiring which cannot be extinguished but must be suffered or endure with right awareness
i keep thinking is there a way to end suffering, and come to the same conclusion, there is suffering in seeking selfish desires and pleasure, but there is suffering which arises from love, even selfless love, we love our son, then our son dies, and suffering comes and is, then this suffering has no cesation, this suffering exists, this suffering arises uncontroled , therefore it does not come from judgement or lack of awareness, but one can only observe it and live it
@SatoshiBatista Being detached is to let be as it is without the need to control. To tend to the needs as well as to sometimes deny the unnecessary pleasures. Let them be responsible for their lives. We have no authority. Whether we're bigger, older, smarter or any self justification, we have no right to impose our beliefs on others unless they ask for it. Love someone even if they fall and hurt themselves, even if you wanted to say not to do that, now they know and you can help with a bandaid.
@SatoshiBatista Love with an attachment is not selfless, because it's connected to the self. Like someone you don't know house burned down and it's not painful because you're not attached to them. But if your house burns down you feel something altogether different because of the attachment. If a child dies, you're left with only attachments in your thoughts and memories. In reality nothing is different. You are still alive and the sun is still out. In the moment there is freedom.
@SatoshiBatista Ps.. I'm not enlightened.. I'm only barely at the doorstep of illumination. So my view may not be perfect but it certainly stops unnecessary suffering caused by the attachments of the mind. The mistaken reality of conceptualization. Concepts aren't real. By breaking them down the have no reality. I didn't want to talk at all but I talked so much rofl, I'll be quiet.
@MysticNinjaSage i like your views, but im still hesitant to assume one can love somebody and be detached from any situation this person may encounter, the question is can ilove without being atached? i mean in practical life can you not suffer if your son dies?, for the real everyday day human being can we be that stoic or detached? and even if we were able to do that would that be the right path? im not sure.
@SatoshiBatista to need to identify with, say being a dad, or whatever the role may be that gives you your sense of identity. Without any role or distinction you are infinity and nothingness, just consciousness without limits. Consciousness that can be and do anything. I think the point of of detachment is to get to this state of mind where you lose the self seeking and so stop suffering. Now at this point you can love so beautifully and give all that you have always. It's not attached but wndrf
@SatoshiBatista I would say that being detached means to have no self seeking goals. That with or without this possession you are not changed. Your essential beingness is still present and abundant. The attachment starts as a thing of the ego, an unconscious assumption that without identifying with more and more things, we are less and less of a thing. It's an assumption of insufficiency. When detachment is understood it's in a state where you understand your own abundance and nothing causes you

@O2streaming Pleasure is not the province of the mind. Pleasure can't be
defined by the mind, because it is experienced by the body.
The body seeks pleasure, the egoistic mind seeks power.
I believe a great deal of the addiction problems are the result of this
failure to pleasure the body.
The experience of pleasure can't be defined without experiencing
it. Can you explain an orgasm to an infant?
The mind is our 'blackberry' a tool of the body.

Does the body think, to seek pleasure?
or is it the biological mind (the self), that by means of thought, seeks for what it thinks is pleasure?
therefore, building memories and so called experiences, therefore building the Ego?
Addictions start when the mind (self), in search of an escape or pleasure, accepts an action, image or thought as a fact, therefore as a fact, it becomes a reality, to be stored in our ego.
And so, to be free the mind first must inquire into the Ego.

WolfEyesatNight 3 months ago
@WolfEyesatNight The body doesn't 'think', it feels.
k - why so you capitalize ego, whether you are aware of it or not,
that is part of the problem for us all.
The biological mind, from my experience, exists underneath the ego
and connects us to reality and to the infinite universe.
The ego is a tool.It is a portable computer that we use to figure things
out, logic. But it also can manufacture 'delusion'. Check out the video
Revolver by Guy Richie.

fntime 3 months ago
@fntime
Sure anytime,
To your question, the ego is not a tool, in fact is a burden (so to speak), the "ego" is a corrupted image,
created by ideas, nationality, language, memories and desires by "the self" (the watcher)
And so we are violent, judgmental, jealous, racist, divisive, fearful and so on.
So now, you see that's why we suffer?
because, we base or existence on the Ego.
So, the self, HAS to inquire into what's corrupted, to regain his perfect state of "self".
k: ).

did you ever read one of his books?
anyway, what do you expected, the answer to all your problems? the one really important thing to understand is the value of questions, that can be answered only by yourself.

@godofunk2 yep, for a wannabe academic philosopher...Krishnamurti is waste of time.

@godofunk2 Wait! Hahaha...
When i mentioned the wannabe academic philosopher, i was talking about the guy that criticized krishnamurti for being devoid of content!
Truly, i have nothing but profund admiration for Krishnamurti's timeless ideas. They've changed me in ways that i can't even describe.
Cheers!

@rodrigojoseunb which timeless ideas of his changed you? can you share it
DeadJesus100 5 months ago
@DeadJesus100 The most important for me is his emphasis that truth can't ever be found through time. As Tolle beautifully put, ''we only need time to know that we don't need time at all''. But the mind tries all its tricks to make even ''enlightement'' a quest, a journey and, therefore, time-bounded. See the trap and be free. See right now, no judgment, because judgement implies time, implies a body of knowledge that came from the past, and past ist conditional, but truth is inconditional. yeah
rodrigojoseunb 5 months ago
@rodrigojoseunb i appreciate your comment
Problem is we are trapped in thought and thinking is the link to past memories and emotions.
Thought is time.
So how is one to be free of thought?
That is the question

@DeadJesus100 Why do we want to be free of thought? Isn't that an urge, a desire, sense of lacking and, therefore, a judgement? Which is conditional and from de the past? Could we just look at thought? Including the thought that we need to be free of thought?

Because we do not have love! We never met love, just talk about a word that we do not know nothing!
Picasanta 7 months ago
I love what he says but as he says we must be sceptical....I wonder if he also found a kind of pride and pleasure in "abhorring all of that". It is such a trap to try to be "above all of that"...if we are truly human, in my opinion, we all have some agenda....It must have brought him some form of pleasure to sit there in front of all those people expounding his views and thinking aloud. I wish there were more like him today who would express their peaceful views and be so open.

Is J.K. Apart from You or Are You Apart from J.K.?
human2011able 1 year ago
Perhaps we haven't truly suffered. When we suffer fully, without escape, we see clearly the nonsense of our petty goals and ideas of selfish happiness, which cause sorrow. It's then, in this glorious death, that suffering changes; it's no longer identifiable as pain. It is beautiful. In superficial sorrow, like most of us, which is moping and complaining while isolating or running to every imaginable escape, we miss life and condemn ourselves and everyone around us to darkness.

the feeling of loosing the bond of love whichwas created through life spend with somebody, son or wife, how can i not suffer from that? i am beginning to think there is no cesation of suffering no extinction but only endurance, i endure suffering, and observe it, and feel it, thats all, while i am alive there is suffering, which some can be diminished if we have right awareness but there is some suffeiring which cannot be extinguished but must be suffered or endure with right awareness
anthonycotillo 1 year ago
i keep thinking is there a way to end suffering, and come to the same conclusion, there is suffering in seeking selfish desires and pleasure, but there is suffering which arises from love, even selfless love, we love our son, then our son dies, and suffering comes and is, then this suffering has no cesation, this suffering exists, this suffering arises uncontroled , therefore it does not come from judgement or lack of awareness, but one can only observe it and live it
anthonycotillo 1 year ago
@anthonycotillo Seems to me you're talking about the suffering caused by attachment, not 'love'.
MysticNinjaSage 11 months ago
@MysticNinjaSage thats a difficult distinction, cause love is attachment isnt it? how can you love and not be attached?
SatoshiBatista 11 months ago
@SatoshiBatista Being detached is to let be as it is without the need to control. To tend to the needs as well as to sometimes deny the unnecessary pleasures. Let them be responsible for their lives. We have no authority. Whether we're bigger, older, smarter or any self justification, we have no right to impose our beliefs on others unless they ask for it. Love someone even if they fall and hurt themselves, even if you wanted to say not to do that, now they know and you can help with a bandaid.
MysticNinjaSage 10 months ago
@SatoshiBatista Love with an attachment is not selfless, because it's connected to the self. Like someone you don't know house burned down and it's not painful because you're not attached to them. But if your house burns down you feel something altogether different because of the attachment. If a child dies, you're left with only attachments in your thoughts and memories. In reality nothing is different. You are still alive and the sun is still out. In the moment there is freedom.
MysticNinjaSage 10 months ago
@SatoshiBatista Ps.. I'm not enlightened.. I'm only barely at the doorstep of illumination. So my view may not be perfect but it certainly stops unnecessary suffering caused by the attachments of the mind. The mistaken reality of conceptualization. Concepts aren't real. By breaking them down the have no reality. I didn't want to talk at all but I talked so much rofl, I'll be quiet.
MysticNinjaSage 10 months ago
@MysticNinjaSage i like your views, but im still hesitant to assume one can love somebody and be detached from any situation this person may encounter, the question is can ilove without being atached? i mean in practical life can you not suffer if your son dies?, for the real everyday day human being can we be that stoic or detached? and even if we were able to do that would that be the right path? im not sure.
SatoshiBatista 10 months ago
@SatoshiBatista to need to identify with, say being a dad, or whatever the role may be that gives you your sense of identity. Without any role or distinction you are infinity and nothingness, just consciousness without limits. Consciousness that can be and do anything. I think the point of of detachment is to get to this state of mind where you lose the self seeking and so stop suffering. Now at this point you can love so beautifully and give all that you have always. It's not attached but wndrf
MysticNinjaSage 9 months ago
@SatoshiBatista I would say that being detached means to have no self seeking goals. That with or without this possession you are not changed. Your essential beingness is still present and abundant. The attachment starts as a thing of the ego, an unconscious assumption that without identifying with more and more things, we are less and less of a thing. It's an assumption of insufficiency. When detachment is understood it's in a state where you understand your own abundance and nothing causes you
