  • looks like nixton...=/

  • i love it, an amazing TV show that took the piss out of everyone, cheffs, sportsman, political figures, quiz hosts, any charecter with enough personality to be put into puppet form. yet as soon as it makes fun of an american political figure its suddenly a socialist rebellion! its just a TV show, just have a laugh at it, go onto the videos of brittish politicians, watch ducks being blown over by the wind, i dont care. just stop getting so angry over a tv show, its pathetic, learn to laugh

  • It's funny because the U.K. also invaded Iraq... Both times...

  • This is good.

  • now this is satire. sucks it wasn't around when w was pres and murdered all those iraqis for oil.

  • This is George Bush senior, spitting image was not on television during the junior era, mores the pity. It was wonderful satire, and was on the money every time.

  • iraq

  • Is this first bush or second bush?

  • 'DEMOCKRASSYY!'

  • let me guess... IRAK !

  • ide love a puppet made of me spitting image style 8)

  • These puppets are so fucking ugly the satire is wasted on me. Wait? Did I just call it satire? A man repeating the word Iraq several times is hardly satire... It's funny because they're making him look stupid (that hasn't been done before)... As a Brit, I love some of the humour we produce, but this is just... *yawn*

  • @AlexB1001 They're hideous because politicians -are- hideous. And they're puppets because they don't have a brain either. In order for you to understand the humor you also must udnerstand what they're satirising i.e. First Gulf War and the Panama/Greanda invasion. It's not the best sketch they did, but it's still biting humor. Maybe you should watch the other Spitting Image clips here on YouTube. The 80's ones were they mock the three main UK parties at the time are very good!

  • @TwoBlumen

Trust me, I am well aware of the Persian Gulf War, as well as Panama. I am no great fan of politicians either, but somehow this just brings out a lot of hatred from me. I think it might be because we're always so quick to sling abuse at a man such as George W. Bush, yet he's no worse than the league of parasites we call our leaders today...

  • @AlexB1001 Don't worry, this programme made fun of everyone :) From militant Labour to right wing Thacherites, it was open season on all politicians on celebrities.

  • @TwoBlumen, you are wrong. While this show might have made fun of Labour personalities, it never challenged the socialist ideology. It was clear this show had zero ideological balance.

  • @sndblstr Bit of a sweeping generalisation there mate :p Right wingers were just more entertaining back in the 80's in comparasion to dour left wingers. You should watch the News at Benn sketch they did, basically mocked everything wrong with labour in the 80's. And they hated Tony Blair too.

Comedy is done for comedies sake. It's not there to please one particular group :)

  • @AlexB1001, this Spitting Image show was sometimes stridently anti-US. How sad that the show skewed its commentary/satire in favor of socialism and AGAINST western democratic capitalism. There was no ideological balance on this left-leaning show. In hindsight, especially given what's happening with the eurozone and the Euro, it seems Thatcher & the conservatives were right all along about so much. Anyway, would have been better if the show hadn't had such a left-leaning, pro-socialist agenda.

  • @sndblstr

Thank you for a hugely refreshing comment. I literally agree with everything you've said, so let's just leave it there. :)

  • @sndblstr It's a tv show for the love of god. It made fun of those in power and pointed out their hypocrisies, double standards and so on. Just happened the people in power were who they were, rather than who you would have preferred for them to make fun of. Nothing anti- American here either. Adults can deal with criticism w/o reacting like a chastised child whose feelings have been bruised.

  • @AlexB1001 This sketch, for the times that were in it, is the very definition of satire. 'A literary technique of writing or art which principally ridicules its subject often as an intended means of provoking or preventing change. Humour is often used to aid this.' Whether it's funny or not is open to debate, but it IS satire.

  • @valdejunquera Evidemment c'etait subjectif!! Et avec un peu de mon humour!!

  • @valdejunquera Mais les gags britanniques sont les meilleurs du monde!!

  • Was this created by the same people who did the video for Genesis - Land Of Confusion? The puppets look like exactly the same art style

  • @CloudchaserShaconag Yes it was. Spitting Image came first, Genesis came after.

  • @CloudchaserShaconag

This was a Spitting Image sketch, and yes they did also do the Genesis - Land Of Confusion video - well spotted. Hilariously Fluck and Law also went on to use the Mike Rutherford puppet as Jesus in a later episode of Spitting Image.

  • Wow , freedom of speech on TV.

  • They need to redo spitting image

  • Errrrrrrrrr,,,,, Iraq

  • @valdejunquera sur certains gags oui comme celui la

  • @valdejunquera arrête,les 2 sont biens...allez,a'tchao

  • GOD... HELP... ME. Freaky ass puppets...

  • I watched Spitting Image for the first time 20 years ago, still the best !

  • If a Japanese company did this, we would have had to apologise.

  • @tnakai1971jp We didn't have to apologise because nobody else in the world saw this show. It was, and still is, top secret. Shhhhh.........

  • @JustTheGman

    @JustTheGman

I sometimes wonder whether this recent tendency of demanding apologies on jokes and caricature is adding anything to the mutual understanding amongst us.

Recently, a commentator on the BBC made a mildly rude and offensive remark on a man who was in Hiroshima and in Nagasaki when the bombs exploded. I think the commentator called him "the most unlucky guy on earth" or something along that line.

The reaction in Japan was an overreaction in my view.

  • This is really good stuff very funny. I wish they could of done one with George Bush W?

  • wow

  • So where is our oil? The left has told us for decades that we are there for oil. WHERE IS OUR OIL!?

  • @DanzHanzen what do you think is going in your car you prick, do you really think you're going to see the benefits of cheap oil. tit

  • @DanzHanzen you have it, you're not paying 10 dollars a gallon like the rest of the world. what did you think we did it for freedom?

  • @DanzHanzen

Just go down to the pump and take it.

  • @DanzHanzen in your cars

  • i think Bush was a good president, but this is funny!

  • What's really sad is that this is all true.

  • Spitting Image was one of the best TV showes in the 80´s:-)

  • rupert murdoch?

  • uhm... i can't tell which George Bush this is. is it the retard or the idiot?

  • @lygophile

I'm sure you are much more intelligent than these men and can run a State better than they can.

  • @LolCaramelz. well thanks but that ain't hard. i'm sure are too.

  • The puppetry is so brilliant! PLEASE bring back Spitting Image.

  • I´m sorry but this guy doesn´t look anything like Mr. Bush.

  • @mrsoespino Do some research and watch this video again. You might understand then.

  • @mrsoespino try George H Bush in Gulf War

  • @mrsoespino it looks a lot like George Bush senior, that's who it's meant to be, not GWB.

  • @tosgem it is George Bush Senior, this was made in the 80s

  • @mrsoespino You wouldn't happen to be in your teens? Who was president of the US between 1989 and 1993?

  • Specialist Bush subject - democracy - LMAO!

  • hahaha

  • UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s forebears have a long history in financial racketeering. His great-great grandfather, Emile Levita, a German Jew, was related to the German- Goldsmid banking family, and obtained British citizenship in 1871. He was the director of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China. - PLEASE Watch these videos - Lyndon LaRouche explains start of WW III . or - The Obama Deception. here on youtube . • Americans always think they are the biggest, the best, know everything, are better than everybody else and that we are all stupid and are taken in by them so this is about right - NO CHANGE THERE THEN !!

  • @wildsticks123 Wow, what a bastard you are. To group a whole country's people together as a whole, and hate all of them because of your warped view. Sure some Americans have strong pride in their country, sometimes too strong, but that doesn't give you the right to subject us all to your uncalled for hatred. Also (I assume you're British), you've got it backwards. Brits, as well as every other European country, bash America constantly! We are typically classified as redneck.

  • @wildsticks123

You are ignorance encarta, you gave Americans a bad name with your pseudo-patriotism..oh the irony.

  • Comment removed

  • @oiramldx

You must be 15. or American. Or probably both

  • XD lol its kinda true how america only saves those with oil or other exspencive resources!

  • @TheDarklord0211 South Korea? 36,000 Americans died defending that place.

  • @kentamitchell Agreed - And a whole load of Brtis died too.

  • @GatoDeEscocia A tip of the hat to our British allies.

  • FUNNY as FUCK!! Accurate too!

  • good old days

  • they both have a personal interest with oil so yes they are both interested in Iraq

  • This is about the time when the puppets on spitting image were starting to look less hideous and more slick, killed the show imo.

  • hahah that is so funny. But true! XD

  • Where are you now Spitting Image? We need you!!!

  • fuck me...... a small change to the puppet and this could be the same fucking show with george jr

  • Best thing is, you can still play this now and its still acurate!

Theres still good political satire out there, just look towards ian hislop and Private Eye, its the reason he is constantly in court!... funny how he always wins

  • we would never get away with this these days NO WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody shame though cos this was funny as fuck

  • I would have answered 'Israel' to the first 3 questions.

  • haha i loved this

  • so America has been up Iraqs ass for a while

  • Spitting image is what should be done in all countries to tell the world what all bad governors do against their respective people. Besides, it is the best way to crack up all the time...!! Cool ! GeorgeRocky

  • @georgerocky I still running in spain and france. IDK for the rest of the countries.

  • @georgerocky there are actually a lot of international versions of it

  • Lol, the rubber puppets are so creepy, freaks me out especially at :29 lol, im assuming this is senior lol

  • Yeah it's George Bush senior.

    ...Iraq!

  • LOL!!!! That was funny

  • as shirley bassey said...

  • Ah, so the obsession with Iraq runs in the family. Figures why Jr would want to finish his daddy's war in the middle east. The resemblance between father and son is frightening.

  • The resemblance between father and son is so frightening...it's almost as if....they were father and son.

  • @98RamMagnum May be he is not son but a clone.

  • @98RamMagnum One could even think that they were related!

  • They're clones I tell ya :).

  • There are many copies

  • Holy shit!! That was THE hardest hitting news satire thing I have EVER seen!!!

  • Hold a chicken in the air!

  • Comment removed

  • Fuckin' A., this show was the greatest.

  • Americans vs Iraque=Amerique

  • Clicked video thinking newscaster was Dubya

  • They could do exactly the same scetch with GB junior, and it would still be relevant!!

  • Funny how history repeats itself.

  • Funny, how, even though this is over a decade old, history repeated itself, with his spawn.

  • Some things never change, LOL!

  • So true...

  • Brilliant!

  • Omg those puppets scare the fuck out of me

  • amazing many american allies are just as corrupt as they are,

and they say that places like iraq and the soviet union supressed people, its they who fucking supressed everyone with they great big fat dollar.

  • Does anyone have the special where Spitting Image spoofed the Oscars? You know, the one where Walter Matthau wins best Actress!

  • Brilliant! Two-faced war-moungerer along with his son! All the waffle about democracy and freedom but that's all out the window when it conflicts with American interests! Typical politician!

  • rigel5 - That was a puppet and not an actuall person or politican. Should be obvious.

  • Well, he's talking about the character, Kartman, so I dont see the problem...
