Anyway, Son sang from the heart, he wrote lyrics down but most of it came from what he was feeling man, he shares lyrics in his songs because in the end they all tell his story.
'Death Letter' was the signature song of Son House and later, parts of it were incorporated in Robert Johnson's song 'Walking Blues'. Some accounts describe House has been playing in public before Johnson. But after disappearing for a few years, Johnson came out a lot more skillful.
yeah definatly, its a verry bluesy thing to do.. for example, alot of the lyrics from My Black Momma Pt.2 are also in this AND death letter... i think its all just a matter of what blues he has while he plays, and what kind've riffs he's getting into... some songs might sound completley different but if he's got some similar blues he'll sing lyrics from a different song- its a verry common practice found in the country blues genre

Vinyl has a MUCH broader range of sound frequencies than CDs or MP3s.

@UJS8X that's why there are uncompressed file formats like flac. But the vinyl is cooler and it's not digital.

The lyrics in Death Letter are almost identical to My Black Mama Pt. 2 without the first verse.

They arent talking about Johnsons walking blues, but Son House's walkin blues, which was indeed recorded prior to Death Letter...
