As with the whole Neville should have killed bellatrix, he had more important things to due such as destroying the last horocrux and saving as many people as possible. Also busy being a BAMF.

Even though Sirus died in this scene, we get the birth of a new favorite named Bellatrix. Helena Bonham Carter was the best in this movie.

Lucius did not break it though. Actually in the book Neville by accident kicked it and it broke. Anyway, I think David Yates the director changed the story it for the sake of simplicity even though it makes no sense because you see that the Death Eaters are holding Harry's friends so after Sirius punched Lucius they would have surely killed them. Also the size of the prophecy ball is actually equally to a Golden Snitch and not a snow globe.

@AlinaLilth Yes, in the book, Neville accidentally broke it. But in the movie, Harry gave the prophecy to Lucius. Then, Sirius punched Lucius, and the battle started. During the battle, Lucius tripped and broke it - LIKE A FAILURE.

@AlinaLilth I think why Yates changed it because he wanted to give an stronger impression of Voldemort's punishment to the Malfoy through Draco. If Draco was punished to kill Dumbledore because Lucius broke the prophecy, it would be a stronger reason that just couldn't bring the prophecy to Voldy.

Putting the books aside for a moment, as a movie series "Harry Potter' has got to be some of the best work ever put into cinema. You have some of the best elements assembled, best english actors, one of the best movie scores, cinematography, costumes, set design etc. I've met people who never read the books but absolutely LOVE the Potter movies.
