  • Some songs touch your heart.

This song rips your fucking heart out, and shows it to you while you drown in your own despair.

  • sorry to pop your balloon guys but opinions does have different values. They are based on the context tho, music PREFERENCES are not opinions in themselves, they are tastes and on that yes tastes are pretty much something you can't argue about.

Opinions are affirmations about a subject based on personal feelings, knowledge and comprehension. Since not everyone don't have an equivalent amount of knowledge or comprehension on everything therefore opinions have different values based on

  • who formulated it and how well that person is informed.

To give a clear example Hitler was stating the opinion that Jews, and other ethnic and social groups were a weakness to be eliminated. We all know how well it turned with him and his opinions.

so don't mix up opinions and tastes plz, let's call a cat a cat as we say in French.

  • first time i heard this song,i was 3.who wouldve anticipated that i would still love it today?

  • LOVE THIS

  • Thom is great in this song! He really gets to power it out a tad more

  • pretty song.

  • 1:09 INCEPTION!

  • @2323jgrant haha the kick!

  • It's really buggin me how much that Johnny looks like a girl in this.

  • I don't get why people think this song is depressing. OK, there's cracked eggs and dead birds dying all over the place, but at the end the final refrain is really positive: 'Immerse your soul in love'. Love and death, that's what life is isn't it?

  • @Kropotkinskaya - check out Tom York's take on the song in the Wikipedia 'Street Spirit' link... Very depressing. (so much so, he says that to sing it he needs to disconnect from it at an emotional level...)

  • @mattriceten "I can't believe we have fans that can deal emotionally with that song. That's why I'm convinced that they don't know what it's about."

I guess I'm one of those. Actually, I find it really liberating when his voice lifts off towards the end.

Not what he intended. But then again, he also said once that after he wrote a song, it was someone else's and not his. So I take it and make of it what I will (even though I'm technically wrong!). Regards.

  • @Kropotkinskaya Absolutely... That's the beauty of being human, I guess... we can all hear and read things in our own, individual way! Regards to you..

  • they dont make music videos like this anymore

  • detachment

  • Such awesome talent.I can listen to this song over and over.Alot of depth with many meanings for all who wish to listen.

  • Such awseome talent.I can listen to this song over and over.Alot of depth with many meanings for all who wish to listen

  • Thom Yorke has the greatest voice ever. No one can keep a note like him.

  • Fantastic song but why does EVERYTHING have to be interupted by adverts???!!!!

  • Nuclear bombs are needed? I disagree with you.

  • RADIOHEAD SONGS SO FUCKING DEPRESSING

  • @theonlysecretman You mean insightful

  • This song is a masterpiece, beautifully crafted, composed and excuted, Radiohead total Legends.

  • radiohead has gone from rubbish (pablo honey) to excellence (ok computer) to perfection (in rainbows)

  • @KRS1LEGEND Opinion based

  • @ iFriendChannel, you must be fuckin' deaf. Let's see if you can sing ShowBiz well.

  • that was the most perfect thing i have seen in my entire life.

  • @luv4friends192 I don't see what it means. Can you tell me?

  • @FearThisChannel do you mean you don't understand the video? its all up for interpretation but im sure you can find some ideas people have about it online - i dont want to give you my ideas :) songs are always best if you figure them out for yourself and bring your own meaning to it.....

  • Jeff who??

  • Best in his class of the last 20y at least. Not long later, this same man made Black Swan.

  • to compare the empty anthemics of muse to radiohead is insane.

  • 1:10 WWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thom yorke has a wonderful voice, I cannot deal as a group as radiohead this one so little recognized, it is better than the purely commercial groups that it is now. I love this song and this video. the radiohead are Geniuses!!!!!

  • OMFG! Can you people quit it??

Matt Bellamy sounds like Jeff Buckley... NOT Thom Yorke. And yeah, just because their album Showbiz might remind you of Radiohead, it doesn't mean they 'copied' them/.

  • @TheRandomChocolate he sounds nothing like jeff buckley. jeff can actually sing

  • eres lo guao

  • this band is so deep.

  • This Video... is oddly hypnotizing, random, yet still... like art. It's weird. But it's good weird.

  • Decent band but the Floyd cast them aside. If I want to take a trip into space that does not involve a rocket, the Floyd provide me with all the means.

  • video seriously let this song down...

  • haha why are people arguing about opinions? THEY'RE OPINIONS!

    Deal with it.

  • @SX55555blueredgreen you such a phony brained washed. i venture guessing u live in usa. yes, we argue about opinions, because there are morons out there, who are wrong. humanity have progressed cos of smart dudes, not because all opinions go. moron!

  • @d4string excuse me sir, but people have a right to think what they want. yes, i live in the usa. what of it? opinions are not correct or incorrect. you should know this. arguments go nowhere with opinions. you can win an argument with facts.

  • @SX55555blueredgreen I bet you're a right laugh at parties.

  • Comment removed

  • @SX55555blueredgreen I guess the only opinion that isn't an opinion is your own. This is an opinion, it seems, that has to be told to other people, whereas all the others should keep to themselves. Your opinion is a negating opinion. You want all the other opinions to shut up but your own. But your opinion is an opinion.

How very lonely is your opinion.

  • @MrMucas You just fried my brain, dude. O_O

  • @MrMucas ...Finally. Someone that gets it. I thought I'd never read this on a YouTube vid.

  • @MrMucas i like onions aswell

  • @SX55555blueredgreen Well, that's like, your opinion man.

  • @avengedthreshhold How do you define bullshit? How do you define art?

  • @Miggittymiccheck Don't worry, he's just a troll. He more than likely didn't even watch it or listen to the music. Believe it or not there are people that get enjoyment out of trolling.

  • thom yorke is a genius, so out there, and one of a kind.

  • @keenandwhat009 i think i may have thumbs down to your comment MY BAD! THOM YORKE IS AMAZING..ekk..opps

  • @389729 WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????? PASS ON THAT

  • Best song ever by Radiohead. Best music video ever.

    Radiohead - Faultless.

  • Muse and Coldplay are no where near Radiohead!!! They're nothing like Radiohead though they try to be...Radiohead is real they write songs that mean something but Coldplay and Muse write shitty songs that mean nothing but are catchy

    Radiohead beats every band :)

  • @JunoCat16

    Ummmcoldplay sucks donkey balls.

Muse is one of a kind, like Radiohead.

Only difference is, Muse didn't get locked into the Universal Depression Mode.

  • @JunoCat16 actually, Muse's lyrics make lots of sense! I like Radiohead's more but it's unfair statement in my opinion : o

  • @JunoCat16 I love Radiohead more than any other band, but in all honesty Muse is great as well. They do not try to sound like Radiohead. In my opinion they don't even sound slightly similar. And if you REALLY want to go down the lyrics argument, Muse's lyrics are far more meaningful than Thom Yorke's endless babbling. Like I said though, I love them both.

  • @kylwntr Muse sucks imo. And "Thom's endless babbling"? What's your problem? Matthew Bellamy just writes shit! Thom writes music.

  • @JunoCat16 I'm sorry but a lot of the time Thom's lyrics are pseudo-meaningful and lack actual grammatical sense.

  • @JunoCat16 You're right, they are far from being something like Radiohead. Coldplay is good, but not this kind of good... and muse... bores me!

  • @JunoCat16 Do you think Thom York knows who Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters are?

  • @MrFlatmint

Yes, I believe Thom once said Pink Floyd are a huge inspiration.

  • @guitarnublet Well , honesty is usually the best policy in matters such as this.If you fucked your girlfriends cousin maybe its best to lie , if you fucked her twin she already knows and if you fucked her mum she's gonna find out soon. When she does you can listen to Radiohead and Pink Floyd with real conviction.

    Take care man

  • @guitarnublet Seriously though the similarities between parts of this and parts of Comfortably Numb are uncanny

  • @MrFlatmint Really? Like what part? I just don't hear it.

  • @TheTexanAtheist Now please dont get me wrong ,cos I'm a bit thicky thick thick thick , but that would be sarcasm ? Or no?!!

  • good old radiohead the only music that is not record company bullshit

  • 0:28 is thom maimed?

  • this vid only has like 350,000 views, but justin bieber has MILLIONS....I usually hate it when people talk about how this generation of music sucks and blah blah blah, but thats just bullshit

  • the instrumental almost sound like that song from, SOAD, Hollywood.

  • @ChaosTx SOAD... you theives!!!!!

  • Hey does anybody know the name of the Radiohead song that includes the lyrics "so far away". It's a very sad and powerful song. I heard it about 9 years ago on the radio. But, they never gave the title. please drop by my channel and leave me a message if anyone knows. Please let me know.

  • @ExclusiveLM

just google 'so far away lyrics radiohead'

It'll pop up in no time.

  • so good!

  • RHCP

  • @epanopolis YEAH!! the band of my life. seriously.

  • such a brilliant song!!!!

  • Thom Yorke Quote: I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless... All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve... 'Street Spirit' has no resolve... It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. It represents all tragic emotion that is so hurtful that the sound of that melody is its only definition.

  • @baldwinrules erm not really. "immerse yourself in love" is a very positive message i would say. wouldn't ou?

  • did thom die? i saw on the television that he died.

  • Rows of houses all bearing down on me

I can feel their blue hands touching me

    All these things into position

All these things we'll one day swallow whole

    This machine will not communicate

These thoughts and the strain I am under

Be a world child, form a circle

    Before we all go under

    Cracked eggs, dead birds

    Cool song

  • 15 years last week, leaving behind the Nirvanesque sound, Radiohead becomes real genius. Tom singlehandedly saved the 90s and beyond. The only other major band I respect from this period is RHCP. Thank you for existing, Tom, and for insisting that the world cannot be only the idiotic demented one of Lady Gaga

  • @fabsternyc there are other members of Radiohead. There is no 'singlehandedly' element to it. Wise up.

  • @fabsternyc there's also Oasis but thats it... ur right about everything else

  • @fabsternyc Two things about your text that are a bit off... First of all, it's Thom, but that's no big mistake since that's strange xD but besides that red hot isn't from the last 15 years and there are many good bands from this time that deserve respect such as Foo Fighters or Green Day among others.

  • My interpretation of the lyrics:

Everything is temporary -- all that is known, all that seems forever is not so. Friends, family, places, everything will one day be gone and fade away.

  • Evolution.

  • what's the meaning of the lyrics in it?

  • This song was written in 1993, around the same time as "My Iron Lung." "Creep" is Radiohead's American hit, this is the British equivalent. Laced with Ed's absolutely perfect arpeggios, the track has a mesmerizing quality that links it to the work of Stereolab. With lyrics about feeling like a very small person in an intimidating world, Hope it helps.

  • makes me wanna spin in slow motion forever

  • you are...

  • Always look forward to them playing this one live in concert. Definitely a crowd favorite.

  • adore this song, it just gets to me!

  • thom yorke has spoken many times about it being difficult to perform this tune to his fans because they've no real understanding of the tune itself. i find that extremely interesting.. i see it to be an awesome tune, but he believes this has some sort of dark messege...

  • a masterclass in film making...

  • its such a beautiful song, I love Radiohead!

  • this song means so much to me. it remembers me of so many things. it's so beautiful!

  • What a great video

  • This is such a truly great song!

  • lol they do have some similar features but thats Thom Yorke, lead vocal for Radiohead

  • This video is incredible. Who directed it?

  • He looks like Pee Wee Herman lol

  • pee wee herman + clay aiken
