Electioneering is advertising a political view. Note that all electioneers are volunteers which means that anyone wearing a shirt walking within 100 feet is breaking the law. I thought you people were in college. You aren't intelligent people. College is apparently a super-conformist left-wing pyramid scheme. Thank god I taught my self to read. Signed, a that doesn't believe in god yet respects those that do but will always vote republican because dems rig elections like saddam hussein.
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. People of all creeds and color wearing their Obama support with pride rushing to go vote. I mean the law is the law but I'm sure you can tell whose side I was on.
Oh! That cracks it! McCain wins by default! This must be how Obama won Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, California, Indiana, Minnesota...it was the T-Shirts. Call a cop or go get drunk or something.
Actually it is illegal in New Mexico as well as several other states to wear political clothing including buttons, t-shirts as well as any signs or literature and most states set a distance of 100 feet as the limit. This video shows clear violations and although blatantly biased it is none the less a valid representation of breaking the law. Also if the girl with the clipboard was a poll worker she shouldn't have had that Obama patch/sticker whatever it was on her attire.
"No campaigning" means you can't have campaign staff (paid or volunteer) handing out flyers, talking to people, waving signs, etc. People wearing McCain or Obama buttons and t-shirts is not campaigning, for pete's sake.
In some states, as long as you're not volunteering to help with elections or not volunteering or working for a particular candidate, you can wear t-shirts or buttons or stickers. I also never saw any signs in this video saying you couldn't except for the "No Campaigning Within 100 Feet" sign.
dont people understand that voting for McCain and Obama is a waste, and regardless both of them are the same as the last guy and the last guy...
none of them are promising anything substantial... heck... even if they did, than they would lose their electability, as you have to succumb to the UN and Council on Foreign Relations in order make it this far in an election.
Both Obama and McCain are members of the CFR, this is even according to the candidates, and the CFR itself.
This video's point isn't very clear. Next time, Election Journal, try subtitles, voiceovers, freeze frames, or any kind of editing. Basic filmmaking 101.
It is not considered illegal campaigning to simply wear presidential nominee apparel to the polls, and this point is proven by the fact that none of the voters you recorded were turned away from the polling precinct. So it appears that you did not prove a valid point.
But you still have your right to vote regardless of what campaign attire you have on. The most authorities can do is ask you to take it off are wear something else that may cover the attire. But they can't legally take you to jail or write someone a citation for wearing presidential candidate attire. On top of that, people should already know who they are voting for when they get to the polls. If seeing someone wearing a shirt of a candidate sways your vote, then you don't need to be voting.
I didn't see anyone campaigning. Wearing a political button or t-shirt is not campaigning. Should I have taken off the Obama bumper sticker off my car before I parked? This video is useless.
It took me a moment to realize what was going on here. There are a few individuals who keep going in and out with clipboards, sometimes escorting other people and once asking someone about voting. Those individuals shouldn't be near there.
FYI moron, those are called poll workers. They are there to user in and assist.
But since your blatantly a Republican i can surly see why you you wouldn't want people there to help. Last thing you want are Obama voters voting without problems.
Are you trying to say wearing a t-shirt is un-American? Unconstitutional? Democrats are law breakers? The spirit of the law and the letter of the law mean nothing?
Or maybe you're looking for attention?
And why would you post this as "intimidation" on the "video your vote" map???
I really shouldn't care - I'm not American and not entitled to vote in your election. But I'm concerned about the false dichotomy that masquerades as democracy in the US. Don't be fooled...
The real power in the US lies with the wealthy. It is only money that gets things done. Your politicians do not have the power to change your lives.
And be under no illusion - socialism is alive and well in the US. The biggest coup in history just happened under your noses. I mean, what else would you call the massive transfer of wealth and power that just happened under the guise of a "Credit crunch and Bank bailout".
@Gudenfast Any piece of clothing that has any political message (shits shoes pants socks hair accessories ect), vehical, paper work (no voting ballot) are illegal with in a certain radious of a polling place(usually 100 ft), and that person should be denied the ability to vote until they have left the polling place and legal distance and has "changed" the conflicting articles, and if they are repeat offenders they should be arrested.
How is that hope and change thing working for ya?

So ... is EVERYONE in New Mexico wearing Obama clothes and sporting Obama Buttons?
And are about a third of them working on the Obama campaign?
And is the camera person the ONLY McCain supporter in town?
