This is an extremely early trailer- 2006. L.A Noir wasn't even on the horizon then. If you actually new anything about heavy rain, you would know the game was released 4 years later, looking extremely different, with varies concepts and ideas. You have no idea.

When I read that I was all excited since I thought that game was just amazing from how it works. It was so long that I wasn't keeping track of the game over the years. @emoney1937 first of all you have to bring up the theme orbs...then scroll through them with the right analog, then when your on one of the orbs...shake the controller up to down, then he will smash the orb and the theme will change

Yeah , there are a few technical demos out there - they use characters from the game ( like this lady) but they have nothing to do with the story - they're just showing off the game engine.

Really? Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, the best graphics for any console isn't enough? If the 360 does have better texture handling, obviously the game devellopers aren't using the tech. Because the best looking game so far is probably Gears 2, which Uncharted 2 blows out of the water.
Honestly. It's less about graphics and more about game availability and game quality at the end of the day.
While the PS3 really does have the capacity to exceed the 360 in terms of graphical quality, the developers of games for the PS3 really have produced very little that makes use of it yet.
I am not at all interested in Uncharted,or in Killzone 2 really, and I'm not going to base the console wars on games that aren't out.

But you said that nothing worthwhile has come out for the PS3 yet. I think Uncharted 2 is somewhat worthwhile, considering it got both IGN's and Spike TV's GOTY awards. Uncharted had the perfect mix of graphics, gameplay, story, and awesome characters. Looking at the PS3, most of the 1st party devellopers are making games that push the limitations of the system. Looking over at the 360 were seeing exactly the oposite. ODST was a step back from Halo 3. Crackdown doesn't look all that amazing.
And as far as which console is more useful, Im going to have to side with the PS3 again. The PS3 isnt only a gaming console. Its a multimedia center. Blu-ray.web-browser, high quality streaming, photo albums, & soon enough 3D gaming. Sony is pushing barriers. The problem is that 360 gamers are content with what they have. They aren't complaining about any of the consoles problems or shortcomings, and this is exactly why RROD and games like ODST still exist. 360 gamers are too easily manipulated.
First of all why are you comparing a mediocre game like ODST to PS3 games and crackdown a game that is at least 2 years old. There have been many 360 exclusives that do better than these 2 games yet you point them out which pretty much points out ur biased opinion. ME 2, GoW 2, Left 4 Dead and Halo 3 even after a year or so of being out. I can be like you and say PS3 has games that set it back like MAG and Killzone 2 which was mediocre.
I meant the new Crackdown that is coming out.... And MAG and Killzone are nothing but Groundbreaking. MAG plays lag free with 256 players, where as a game like MW2 lags with 12 players. Killzone set standards for graphics. It just seems to me that with every new PS3 exclusive to come out, there is something groundbreaking. The PS3 devs really care about quality. Now any game will sell on the 360 with the proper marketting, so I feel that they are really using the system full potential.
Graphics do not define how great a game will be, sure they set the tone for future games and what they should try to achieve but most games with standard graphics do pretty well. The new crackdown while having okay graphics will probably be as entertaining and fun as the first. MW2 lag is based on the host, if you have a good connection no lag this is known by many. Halo: Reach is a game setting standards for graphics just look at the videos.
As far as MW2 goes. The game always selects people with shitty connections asthe host. I play with one friend, and he has a good connection, but for some reason hes a terrible host. Yet the game always selects him. When the game starts, everyone freezes and he gets to go around killing them for 5 minutes until it goes to select a different host. Then during host migration theres a 50% chance that everyone in the room is booted. Thats why I think dedicated servers are the way to go.
This may be for you as you play a PS3 or this happens rarely so I dont see it on 360. The game will choose a host at random and if theyre connection is as bad as well then it will look for another. It takes atleast 45 seconds of lagging before it switches host. Dedicated servers are good yes no doubt but companies usually will not wanna deal with the amount of work and time required to take care of said servers.
Being a groundbreaking game for graphics does not mean it will be good, only it just looks nice and lag pretty much affects every game unless the publishers have dedicated server and even then lag affects from time to time. Xbox 360 exclu have been groundbreaking as well. quantity over quality
I'm just saying that even if you didn't like Killzones gameplay ( I Did) it had groundbreaking graphics. If you don't like Heavy Rain's gameplay, its going to have groundbreaking Storytelling, character devellopement, and even awesome graphics. Sure Crackown may be fun, but what is it doing to help the gaming industry? The people that made Killzone, Guerilla Games, are sharing their technology wihother PS3 devs like Insomniac. I heard Resistance 3 will use the Killzone engine.
I see you point and concur to an certain extent but if a game is boring but looks nice thats not gonna help it much. Crackdown will show other games out there that you have to have gameplay and content with your games not just pretty graphics. You need to be able to let the player have fun and engage them into the game. Heavy Rain looks amazing no doubt and may have all of that but if it doesnt have the content then it fails but i know it will be a great game

My goodness, what a pointless argument you two are having! The 360 and the PS3 both have their pros and cons and I don't think I could really rank one higher than the other but I do have both. I buy good games regardless of the console and lately I've been buying PS3 titles more than the 360, and I do plan on getting Heavy Rain because I'm a fan of Japanese visual novels and it seems that this game is going to basically be one big, epic visual novel. ^.^
Well in the end, ps3 was more expensive at the start, 360 broke a lot and still does, ps3 has more exclusives and better ones at that, it has blu ray as well. 360 has a better online community but at the same time charge 50 bucks... and ps3 is getting Heavy Rain, weigh it.

Just for clarification's sake, are Uncharted and Killzone 2 the only PS3 titles you've tried (I'm assuming not). If you feel disenchanted with those two titles (as do I) I advise trying out Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, MAG and Little Big Planet, 4 Brilliant exclusives in my opinion :D.

@emoney1937 first of all you have to bring up the theme orbs...then scroll through them with the right analog, then when your on one of the orbs...shake the controller up to down, then he will smash the orb and the theme will change

I remember downloading this like 3 years ago onto my PS3 and being absolutely amazed at how good the capture of emotion was in the game. And now it's coming out next week! I absolutely can't wait!!

Yeah , there are a few technical demos out there - they use characters from the game ( like this lady) but they have nothing to do with the story - they're just showing off the game engine.

Texture handling is much better ont he XBOX 360 Currently.
I still don't think it's worth buying a PS3 yet if you can only afford it alone.

Really? Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, the best graphics for any console isn't enough? If the 360 does have better texture handling, obviously the game devellopers aren't using the tech. Because the best looking game so far is probably Gears 2, which Uncharted 2 blows out of the water.

Honestly. It's less about graphics and more about game availability and game quality at the end of the day.
While the PS3 really does have the capacity to exceed the 360 in terms of graphical quality, the developers of games for the PS3 really have produced very little that makes use of it yet.
I am not at all interested in Uncharted,or in Killzone 2 really, and I'm not going to base the console wars on games that aren't out.
I'm just saying that overall, I find my 360 more useful

But you said that nothing worthwhile has come out for the PS3 yet. I think Uncharted 2 is somewhat worthwhile, considering it got both IGN's and Spike TV's GOTY awards. Uncharted had the perfect mix of graphics, gameplay, story, and awesome characters. Looking at the PS3, most of the 1st party devellopers are making games that push the limitations of the system. Looking over at the 360 were seeing exactly the oposite. ODST was a step back from Halo 3. Crackdown doesn't look all that amazing.

And as far as which console is more useful, Im going to have to side with the PS3 again. The PS3 isnt only a gaming console. Its a multimedia center. Blu-ray.web-browser, high quality streaming, photo albums, & soon enough 3D gaming. Sony is pushing barriers. The problem is that 360 gamers are content with what they have. They aren't complaining about any of the consoles problems or shortcomings, and this is exactly why RROD and games like ODST still exist. 360 gamers are too easily manipulated.

First of all why are you comparing a mediocre game like ODST to PS3 games and crackdown a game that is at least 2 years old. There have been many 360 exclusives that do better than these 2 games yet you point them out which pretty much points out ur biased opinion. ME 2, GoW 2, Left 4 Dead and Halo 3 even after a year or so of being out. I can be like you and say PS3 has games that set it back like MAG and Killzone 2 which was mediocre.

I meant the new Crackdown that is coming out.... And MAG and Killzone are nothing but Groundbreaking. MAG plays lag free with 256 players, where as a game like MW2 lags with 12 players. Killzone set standards for graphics. It just seems to me that with every new PS3 exclusive to come out, there is something groundbreaking. The PS3 devs really care about quality. Now any game will sell on the 360 with the proper marketting, so I feel that they are really using the system full potential.

Graphics do not define how great a game will be, sure they set the tone for future games and what they should try to achieve but most games with standard graphics do pretty well. The new crackdown while having okay graphics will probably be as entertaining and fun as the first. MW2 lag is based on the host, if you have a good connection no lag this is known by many. Halo: Reach is a game setting standards for graphics just look at the videos.

As far as MW2 goes. The game always selects people with shitty connections asthe host. I play with one friend, and he has a good connection, but for some reason hes a terrible host. Yet the game always selects him. When the game starts, everyone freezes and he gets to go around killing them for 5 minutes until it goes to select a different host. Then during host migration theres a 50% chance that everyone in the room is booted. Thats why I think dedicated servers are the way to go.

This may be for you as you play a PS3 or this happens rarely so I dont see it on 360. The game will choose a host at random and if theyre connection is as bad as well then it will look for another. It takes atleast 45 seconds of lagging before it switches host. Dedicated servers are good yes no doubt but companies usually will not wanna deal with the amount of work and time required to take care of said servers.

Being a groundbreaking game for graphics does not mean it will be good, only it just looks nice and lag pretty much affects every game unless the publishers have dedicated server and even then lag affects from time to time. Xbox 360 exclu have been groundbreaking as well. quantity over quality

I'm just saying that even if you didn't like Killzones gameplay ( I Did) it had groundbreaking graphics. If you don't like Heavy Rain's gameplay, its going to have groundbreaking Storytelling, character devellopement, and even awesome graphics. Sure Crackown may be fun, but what is it doing to help the gaming industry? The people that made Killzone, Guerilla Games, are sharing their technology wihother PS3 devs like Insomniac. I heard Resistance 3 will use the Killzone engine.

I see you point and concur to an certain extent but if a game is boring but looks nice thats not gonna help it much. Crackdown will show other games out there that you have to have gameplay and content with your games not just pretty graphics. You need to be able to let the player have fun and engage them into the game. Heavy Rain looks amazing no doubt and may have all of that but if it doesnt have the content then it fails but i know it will be a great game

My goodness, what a pointless argument you two are having! The 360 and the PS3 both have their pros and cons and I don't think I could really rank one higher than the other but I do have both. I buy good games regardless of the console and lately I've been buying PS3 titles more than the 360, and I do plan on getting Heavy Rain because I'm a fan of Japanese visual novels and it seems that this game is going to basically be one big, epic visual novel. ^.^

Well in the end, ps3 was more expensive at the start, 360 broke a lot and still does, ps3 has more exclusives and better ones at that, it has blu ray as well. 360 has a better online community but at the same time charge 50 bucks... and ps3 is getting Heavy Rain, weigh it.

Just for clarification's sake, are Uncharted and Killzone 2 the only PS3 titles you've tried (I'm assuming not). If you feel disenchanted with those two titles (as do I) I advise trying out Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, MAG and Little Big Planet, 4 Brilliant exclusives in my opinion :D.
Quick comment regarding the 360, just want to pitch this to all the fanboys from someone who's studying to get into the industry. Most studios despise the 360 due to it's technical limitations.
