You need it for whatever you need like rare candies. Rare candies are used to level up that if you enter that code, You'll get 999 rare candies. Also how to refill to 999 rare candies is hold L&R (i'm using the rare candies as an example.)

Not sure but when i did that my sceen wnt blank i shut it off took out the AR waited a few seconds reinserted it it said insert the Action replay then the game don't worry thats normal it happens when u select or insert a new cheat.
