Elves are so beautiful, amazing, and mysterious. Certainly my favorite of all races real or not. when I see them in the movie it makes me feel like crying when their sad. And then the wonderful way they sing to thorins company as they enter rivendell. I wish i could just stay with them. :D
This music is very powerful it makes me think of beautiful things, and places. It makes me wonder why anyone would hate an elf.
then what is the song that starts with the violin and real beautiful like for when u watch the movie and when gonna click the start thing there is music for the twin towers
The elf actors are so pale, as if they are sick. There's no sign of blood or blush on their faces. Do they pick pale looking people to play elves or are the actors wearing a lot of make up?
@ilusier1284 Orlando Bloom doesn't have a VERY light skin-tone, but as Legolas he looks really pale. Make up these days can do anything with the way you look, so I guess they do use a lot of make up. Liv Tyler is pretty pale as far as I know, and I really envy her for that.
@jediking12 Nope, I mean it is the same tune as the one you find when you do a youtube search for "Misty Mountain", the song sung by Thorin Oakenshield and the other dwarves in the trailer for "The Hobbit" movie.
I love Elves and their songs! It symbolizes faith and truth, and in some sort religion. But "A Elbereth Gilthoniël" sounds a bit false, not as beautiful as I imagined :(
You know, its one of the most moving parts of the entire Tolkienian Legendarium, the Passing of the Elves. About as sad as the singular Passing of Gandalf the White, if not somewhat more. Even sadder then, to consider the master himself, J.R.R Tolkien never lived to witness his unrivaled epic hailed as the essence of an entire generation, the cinematic triumph of modern geniuses such as Peter Jackson and Howard Shore. Tolkien was adored by many by his last years, but his greatness only grows...
@ThePalaeontologist i read some time ago, that he (tolkien) didn't want it turned into a movie afraid not being able to get enough of the books the movie, and straying way from the books to much. Hence why they waited till he passed :(
@MsShinratheZergQueen I knew of this; to be fair to him, in the time he lived the films as we know them would not have been possible. To me, the LOTR could not have been released at any other time (2001-2003) I am entirely convinced that this was the single frame of perfection. Some shout that CGI is better now - but that is not too important, as what we were blessed with in Peter Jackson and others such as Howard Shore and Alan Lee, was the apex, the sum total required. It is a one off matter.
I just started my senior year of high school. And i cant belive im growing up so fast. My mom watchs me every morning as i walk out the door of my house to go to school. And it bring a tear to her eye everytime. MY dad just had a heart attack and i wish i could just spend 1 more min. with him. Life goes by fast, too fast. I remember like it was yesterday i was in 14 years old just going into high school. Damn......
Is there something wrong with me too have tears in my eyes when I listen to this song? Hope... it never fades. In spite of all the SH_T I and my family has gone through, we still have HOPE. Perhaps this song strikes a note closer to my heart more than any other at this time in my life. this song is truly my FAVORITE of favorites!!!
Bravo! Being a dedicated fan of Professor Tolkiens writings, both professional and commercial since 1963. That is when I picked up a dog-earred copy of Ballyntines paperbook copy of "The Hobbit." My friends and I would recieve taunts and ridicule for our fanatical dedication. But for my friends it was Star Trek, I was alone then, in my adoration of The Hobbit and the LoTR. This music has truely touched my heart... spiritually, nostalgically, and in my Celtic blood.
Wow this is great too, the stuff from 2:45 onwards is just so powerful. it's amazing how Howard Shore and the musicians managed to pack such emotion into the music. like it could just be a subtle key change, or a certain vocal that just knocks u over - amazing stuff. i've been subbed for a while for LOTR and i've been loving these mixes ur putting out. so so good. cant wait to get Blu-Ray extended versions of the films. glad Shore's on board for The Hobbit. might have to order some OSTs...
