@MrThatwentwell It would take a lifetime to explain it all! ;-) But check out my other videos - a lot of them are tutorials and demonstrations of how to use them all. I say "electronic music should be fun", and every machine here certainly follows that. A good starting place these days are "Apps" for iPad, iPhone, Android etc. which are fairly inexpensive, but have many similar features to the machines that inspired them.
@noiseybeast ;-) Erase the cowbell sample from their ROM if you can? ha ha Or mod a real metal cowbell so it doesn't hurt my ears! That and "drummers who hit the crash cymbal too much" really get on my nerves.
I really like the weird breakdown around the 3:50 mark. Nice overall! It's fun to watch the process of someone making pseudo-spontaneous electronic music : )
We need to totally get you to write up documentation on tracks like this that diagram the wiring (for instance, I see you're going out the 9mil jack on the KO, not the RCA) and what instruments/effects are on which device. If you're going to be awesome in public, you might as well help us be awesome, too. [grin]
@SquidLord I actually used the headphone jack because I didn't have enough RCA cables handy at the time! ;-) But one advantage of this is that the main output on KO1 has no volume knob. ( It's an amazing machine, but a very minimalist design - I'd have preferred more controls instead of using "key combinations" to do things. ) Other than that, the XR-20 is sending only MIDI time synch to the Electribes, and all audio outs go directly to the mixer.
@BogdanStanciuMusic See the Genesis-type EMX Yuzo Koshiro track I uploaded a couple weeks ago! I also have some more 8 bit stuff on it. The "bit crusher" effects are great for this type of thing. Interestingly enough, the ES-1 has a 33khz sampling rate (not 44.1 cd) which gives it a digital low-fi quality.
Ive never seeen any of this stuff in my life. How does it all work, and how do you know how to use it all?
