My A. Grey parrot loves to watch Ruby! I finished hand-feeding him when he was 6 weeks old and now is almost 17. Please don't take offence but Cisco asks for "Birdy Porn" quite often...Ruby is the only one in the movies who gets his feathers ruffled. I hope everyone reads your comment, you are so right! They are so social and need to be include, stimulated. Also, they can live to 50 or more (varies) so don't expect you'll have a bird for just a couple of years. It's essentially a lifelong committment.

the majority of hooked-beak birds can talk if you work enough with them - some more than others, and some are more talented at learning whole songs in whistles. It is beleived that males talk better, why really it's because they bond closer, making it easier to learn faster. Even budgies can talk if you work with them enough.

My pet bird died this past April, and this brought me to tears when I watched it. Ruby reminds me so much of my Punky. I'm happy to see someone took the that much time to teach Ruby all that she knows. My Punky only mimicked kisses, "hello", coughing, sneezing and of course he danced! When he was alone he would sing to himself. Nothing will replace him. Good luck to the owners of Ruby and congrats for all you have taught her.
