  • Kings only wore the gold pants for one season all other years they wore purple (or forum Blue as it was officially called)...i loved the Kings road purple and gold and that original crest was one of the best ever...their new unis and crest are terrible.

  • @ldhorricks Check out the website on nhl uniforms - says gold pants from 70-77. I was a huge Bruins fan in the 70's and they always had these unis on when the Bruins were pounding them - I bet Esposito got half his points every year against them and the Seals!

  • @Lucifercrossing Youre right...for some reason I thought they came to their senses much earlier with those gold pants...I never liked the gold uniforms but loved the Forum Blue (purple). a white with purple and gold would have been nice.

  • @ldhorricks They always looked like pyjamas to me :)

  • TKowin here

  • Those all gold uniforms were so cool. The kings stuck out like solar flares wearing those. The kings should bring them back as their third jersey.

  • @fdnyemt5330 every uniform they have ever worn was and is currently terrible!

  • Kings games use to start at 7:55 and you count on not leaving a Flyers game until after midnight. As a boy I use to fall a sleep listening to the my Kings on the radio. 15 away games a year on TV an no home games on TV at all. There doesn't appear to be any footage of Dave Hutchinson having a sword dual with sticks from inside the penalty box.

  • @yogibearstie Wow some of this stuff brings back some pretty good memories. My Dad used to get 2 for 1 tix through lets dine out back then. 7:55! No home games until I think ONTV came around with Stu Nahan and Dan Avey, Right? Away games were on good old channel 9. Even with that being said, sometimes the games were tape delayed. Still, good stuff.

  • @yogibearstie You must be talking about the 1975 prelimanary round playoff game three with Toronto. As a kid I used to watch Hockey Night in Canada which never showed west coast games on TV but they did show this one. I missed it and have been searching for a video for about 10 years. My neighbor told me about the stick fight. The 1974-75 LA Kings are my favorite team of all time in hockey. Was crushed when they were elliminated by Toronto. LA had no talent but finished fourth overall that year.

  • Steve Short played 5 games for the Kings in 77/78....according the Hockydb site

  • My dad played for the kings in 1980 any one ever here of steve short he was a enforcer i cant find any videos of him any place.

  • @vegascarpenter never heard of him and i went to a lot of kings games in the early 80's...i remember steve jensen and steve carlson but but steve short

  • @vegascarpenter did he ever play for detroit?

  • Snepts vs Dave Schultz Schultz not so tuff outside of Philly edge Harold in this one...

  • In the LA Forum they had really lousy positions for the TV cameras, and whenever there was a fight, the fans in the stands would all jump up and block the view of the ice. I was never in the Forum in person, but I remember this from watching on TV. For some reason in the late 70s & early 80s, the NYR had a lot of big fights when they played the Kings, 2 teams you wouldn't think were rivals as they didn't play often. I remember watching these games late at night here in NYC.

  • @RRaquello so true....I studied in LA in the early 80's and went to many kings games (including the miracle on manchester)...I couldnt believe the press box and center ice cameras were smack in the middle of the stands...for a canadian who grew p with packed stands of NHL games...I found it surprising that often times the forum would be half empty for reg season games...or maybe it was half full

  • @ldhorricks Exactly right. In the early 80's I used to go up to Bob Miller and Nick Nickson (if you could catch them during a TV timeout or stoppage) and get my programs signed. Was really a press row if you think about it. No real box or room or anything. Kinda small crowds back then unless the Kings played the Oilers, Boston, or Philly.

  • Damn! Harold Snepsts is tough to recognize with a full head of hair!

  • This is too funny, good to see my dad starting this brawl and harold finishing it!

  • What a nice donneybrook!!!!!..love the vintage unis of both teams from the 70s!

  • kings should still have dose uni

  • full colour footage of the original Canucks uni is damn rare.

    very grateful you added this

and thrilled to see Snepsts pound Schultz...LOL

  • Is that Dave Hutchinson for the Canucks and Dave Shultz for the Kings (#4?)

  • shultz was fighting harold snepst.

  • The Kings look like Lightbulbs walking around those colors are so loud.

I like the Canucks uni, except the logo.

  • funniest music ever- matches up pretty good too

  • The date is Feb 24th, 1977

  • LA Kings 70's home uniform. Worst uni in NHL history.

  • i want those jerseys

  • @Jsouthwell2006 love the gold uni's!!
