  • konnichiwa,,I'm here in Gunma,,can you post a food for winter season(fuyu),,thank you and more recipe please,,arigatou gozaimasu...

  • Yummy, the music is outstanding!

  • I can't read the bottom of hte instruction, what do they say?

  • I can't hear a lot of her instructions, so in the next video you post can you please lower the sound of the music? Thank you. 5 stars though!

  • I really like all the videos. The one problem is that the music almost always overwhelms what Tomoko says.

  • Wow, that was very easy yummy Japanese salad (Aemono). Thank you for the video. =)

  • MMmmmm that looks so yummy! im really hungry now lol ^-^

  • you can buy dashi in any japanese resto too, thanks for the video

  • Umm, is there an english translation of Dashi? Because it's in like, everything in your videos and I don't exactly know where to get them as there's no Asian shops anywhere here. x[

  • It's a soup stock made from seaweed or dried fish (particularly kasuo or what we would call Bonito). You can order dried dashi on the Internet.

  • Just as Oyamake has said, it's essentially a bouillon. It's absolutely esssential to Japanese cooking to acieve auhentic taste, but luckilly comes in instant, granulated form, sort of like how we purchase pre-made chicken bouillon in the west. In addition to checking online, I would also inquire if they have it at your local health food store. I imagine they might also (possibly) carry it in larger, national gourmet/organic food store chains like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's markets.

  • i couldnt hear her, the music was too loud.

  • Good video.

The ratio volume of background music and actual volumes of speaker/surroundings are not right. Music should be less than the General Sounds.

Music is just as loud as the general sounds. Try lowering the volume of them music.

  • i love all ur videos! and they're looking good..i really love japanese food..and could u pls tell me the artist of this song pls? thnx.looking forward<3

  • Thanks for your comments. And yes. More videos are coming. We're just pretty busy being movie stars at the moment...hahaha. The group is Yoshida Brothers. Ja ne.

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!

if u don't mind i mite try to make sum xD

I can make normal sushi tho..haha xD

Sorry to say this but the music is quite annoying, i can't hear wot ur saying... But LOVE ur cooking ^^ been to japan tooo!!

  • Many people have made comments about the volume. Thank you very much for your feedback. Our later videos are hopefully better. Please let us know if we are getting it right. Arigatou gozaimasu.

  • i think the music is a bit distracting, maybe play it a bit quieter? Her english is very good.

  • We fixed the music in later videos. Hope it's better.

  • I really liked the music actually. I could pretty much tell what she was doing anyway. Nice job, thanks so much! HellaD

  • Her English in great, what is she worried about? ^^ It's actually making her sound slurred and hard to understand with the music, and would sound much better without it! But I DO love Yoshida Brothers...You could try having it very, very lightly playing in the background, perhaps? And if that doesn't work, take it out (when she's confident!). Because the food is so much more important than the music!

  • Thanks Superabundance. You might check out one of our more recent videos. Let me know how she's doing. The other two videos (11 and 12) will be out shortly.

  • Sure, no problem!

  • i think if you know the basic of cooking, it's easy to learn even if the cook speaks Japanese. The background music is a nice shamisen tune cos my favourite artists are Yoshida Brothers. Still to improve the video, I think it would be great if the background music is tuned to fade out when the cook speaks and turn up again when she just cooking or end of programme.

  • Thank you jadoremac for your comments. I agree with you. Just watching ia a huge help to someone. We shot two more videos yesterday in which I got Tomoko to speak up more. She talks a lot. More Yoshida Brothers coming. :-)

  • it looks and sound ummy but I couldn't hear her because of the music

  • Hi. Thanks for watching the video. I have since turned the music down. Now we are working on turning Tomoko up. Hope you continue to watch as we get better at this shtuff. Arigatou gozaimasu.

  • I totally, the music is too way distracting.

  • hello i love this.thank you for posting this.maybe add some subtitles to the steps as the music is distracting.until then i will keep enjoying your japanese cooking programme . arigato

  • Great idea! I love Japanese food, but have only made okonamiaki (sp?) and sushi. I would love to learn more recipes!! Keep them coming and let Tomoko know that she has no reason to be nervous about her English. Has she heard any English speaking people try to pronounce Japanese? LOL I agree that the music is a good addition, but it is a little loud. Looking forward to more!!

  • i think the background music is fine but just might hafta bring the volume down a bit =)

    awesome btw!!! yoshida brothers ftw!!

  • cool! Thanks a lot. I'm going to check out all the other recipes as well.

  • You pick, you have more experience on those things. Thank you very much!

  • Sounds good Adjudo. I think we can do that one. We'll show you how to make onigiri. What would you like in the middle?

  • I am very interested in Japanese style cooking. If possible could please show how to make rice balls. I wasn't too sure on how to do so. Thank you!

  • Adjudo. Done. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • Thank you VERY much for your feedback. Tomoko is a bit nervous about her English thus the reason we have added the music. We'll try to at least bring down the music enough so we can all hear her. If she feels good, and more people agree, we'll drop it all together. Thanks again.

  • I think her accent is so sweet and makes it very nice to watch :D. The traditional music used in the Nikujaga is very nice and not loud.

  • I would prefer that no music be used in the background of these videos, please. The music is distracting and it is difficult to hear her talking. So, please try to take that into consideration.
