I saw Makana's genius on display at the 9th annual Kauai Music Festival. Nooo, actually who ever that was that showed up on stage did say, "Makana's not here tonight". It was one of the most extroadinary performances I've ever witnessed. The humor, the creativity, the delivery. It had a Lenny Bruce edge to it, with a "Fountains of Wayne" first time you hear it likability. Way to change it up Makana. You were throwing "strikes" all night long...

Allthough this is a very talented performance, trying to do anything but copy a zep acousric song is pure folly. You can;t improve zep acoustic, and as far as copying it, it falls short.

Kudos, very nice interpretation of the great classic. However, the signature licks are what made the song and to re-do it is artistically fine but incomparable to the impact of the original. I was at the 2009 Slack festival and left shortly after you began playing it. I thought it might be the song but when I did not hear the introductory licks, I went out for air. I'm not taking anything away from your behemoth effort re vocals and execution, but sorry, I really can't get into it. MAHALO
