I think the most important part of Canadian federal elections is that we don't vote directly for our prime minister, we vote within our riding for our local Member of Parliament. Which I think is the main reason we end up screwing ourselves over. If you wanted to avoid Harper the best strategy was for everyone in a riding to vote for the party most likely to win against the PCs. That means not necessarily getting to vote for the party you think is the best. Shit's fucked up here.

caandian Health care is not free it is funded by taxes. It is only free in the sense that the funding for it does not come out of person's pocket like private health care. Yet canada's health care system needs reform. I have a feeling that if the United States did have a national public health care system it would be superior to canada's health care system.
