  • Take a look at the drinking water guide on the Katadyn web site. I was incorrect on the ability to filter viruses, but I believe I am correct on bacteria. In any case, we used to sell a 12V UV filter that was probably more to your liking.

    You mentioned this kills bacteria or keeps it out etc. FALSE,,, RO does not do that. That is why you can get "Deer Feaver" if you desal near a fresh water run off like near a river mouth etc... There IS a way to kill ALL organics (living bacteria) but I am not being paid enough here to tell you what it is and West Marine is too cheap to hire me as a researcher to make sure their information is correct and law suit proof LOL:-) Just kidding,,, use a UV water light after desalinating
