Kanji: 蝶

Hiragana: ちょう

Romaji: chou

Well Butterfly actually means chouchou (蝶々;ちょうちょう), the title of this song uses an abbreviation of the word.

ち means Chi, ょ means yo, う means u. You're right, one might actually spell it as "tyou", but that would only be the case if the yo would have been a big one like this: よ

The fact that it's small means that chi and yo bend together resulting in 'cho'. If the u is attached you get chou
