  • I must say it isn't generic. Its refreshing if anything. Kind of has a strokes fugazi feel. I dig it. Comparative to all the crap that's out now, I can at least listen to more than one song... and enjoy it.

  • im sorry, we can be friends my heart is overrated

  • Wrong band in the picture, there, broski

  • completely forgot about this band! it's nice when you rediscover something after a long time :')

  • "Suggested artists" on youtube mobile is the dopest of dope. I was just listening to the Generationals and they took me here. 2G00d2 be true

  • this is the first song i heard by them super dope

  • stop talking about blink 182, it has nothing to do with this (they DO NOT sound alike) and I really try avoid anything to do with pop-punk so please, shhh

  • @IronyTheOh People can talk about whoever the fuck they want. It's the internet. I also thought I'd point out that your username is stupid. You're not witty. Good day.

  • @iwasbored1195 not trying to be :/ :/ :/ :/ P.S you're one to talk about stupid names :/

  • Dylan was one of those artists, that WAS a thief. Yeah, Dylan was hardworking, at stealing! Wrong person to use as an example for a hardworking artist.

  • lyrics anyone?

  • I think it was Van Gogh who said every great artist is a thief, or something to that effect. How many people do you think have used that quote? Its a self fulfilling prophecy.

  • @FootDanielLight

“Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.” -Pablo Picasso

  • @tlggootee I thought it was: Good artists copy; Great artists steal?

    Either way, good point.

  • I dont wanna work out! :)

  • Met Dylan last Friday in an interview! hes a good guy who loves what he does.

If you're a musician you'd appreciate the music for what it is and not get involved in petty argument about what is generic and what isn't. Music is an art which draws from inspiration. Everything copies everything. Its drawing from others in order to create your own. Art is society's creativity reproduced again and again, it develops.

  • @FlipstaGIB

This. I did an interview with him last Tuesday. He was really nice and grateful about everything that has been going on with him and his band. Also, we should be supportive of artists such as Dylan who made it by hard work and talent.

  • Not bad at all

  • @WhyIsntAnyNameAvaibl I have a tip. Don't read the comments. No one is even dissing the music, we are just trying to have a conversation. I am glad you listen to good music, but so does everyone else here. I haven't seen any insults about the music.

  • Blink 182 are hardly generic. You can hate pop-punk but they basically pioneered the sound. Maybe you think they're generic because you've heard everything that came after them that tries to copy them.

  • @psychopomp88 Really? They write simplistic, and direct lyrics about the teenage struggle, and use the most basic pop rock chord progression in every song. They are very simplistic but not in the right way. I think theyare all talented, but are trying to appeal to a certain demographic which doesn't actually care about originality.

  • @goatsbutter What is this rush to toward things new and different just because they are new and different. What are we running away from with such urgency? If you are complaining about a copy cat sound, you must not have liked the original very much. More of a good thing can be good, not just more. Criticize this piece, not something else.

In general, I think the lo-fi aesthetic by alienating major portions of its potential audience avoids the lack of authenticity thanks to reproduction...

  • @lorezapocalypse Thank you giving a completely unrelated counter to my statement about Cloud Nothings being better than Blink 182. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know....

  • sounds like blink 182 lol

  • @pinkfloyd8666 GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @goatsbutter Listening to Clouds Nothing than Blink 182 it's an alternative way to legitimize the teenager feelings that everyone try. The most of good music listeners deny them or hide them, fearing to appear like an mtv lobotomized adolescent.

  • @pinkfloyd8666 That is indubitably my fear; thank you for acknowledging it. Regardless, I know have dislike Blink for a legitimate reason. They are horribly generic, they are far too reliant on the excessive talent of their crazy drummer, and they overuse the C, G, A, F chord progression. This song undeniably falls under the same scale of that progression, but Cloud Nothings has more of a diversity for the most part, while Blink fer sure doesn't.

  • @goatsbutter Blink 182 have got a distinctive sound, like Oasis and many other groups that make use of simple chord progressions. I don't think they are generic, quite the contrary: they've got a precise sound and they don't know (or don't wanna know) to go out of that to create something different. It seems to me that Cloud Nothings have got the same feature. These "simple" groups have only one chance to make good music: being inspired in the melodic lines. So they can't stand a long time.

  • @lorezapocalypse For those who never thought enough.

  • @pinkfloyd8666 You want a better defense besides the fact that music sometimes is allowed to be stupid and fun? God forbid music be fun. How about the fact that repackaging crappy pop ephemera can make the unpalatable palatable because it takes out the offending elements.

  • I <3 Cloud Nothings

  • Favorite.

  • So good

  • such a cool song <3
