This is such an AMAZING show and deserves so much more acclaim than all the other 'dumbed down' shows that do obviously appeal to the average consumer. In this day and age it's hard to come by a show so intelligent, so moving, so meaningful and Enlightened is that. Each episode is like a mini therapy session, a journey, and I'm so glad I took it.

I love this show. Ms.Dern is terrific, it's kind of surreal in only a way that a woman can appreciate. No guns, great character development, keep it coming, the best thing on TV (well that and Homeland).

This show is shit. After all the great stuff on HBO (eg Rome, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones) they go and show this pretentious shit. The critics raving about this show remind me of conservatives promoting "Passion of the Christ" or the latest neo-con FOX bullshit. "Enlightened" is about as enlightened as your garden variety left-wing, semi-socialist, self-righteous tard. The typical viewer of this show is just as responsible for our current crisis as any FOX news Christian Conservative.

Wow!!! This woman is a nightmare. I have never seen a more unsympathetic heroine. The actress is great and convincing but the story is terrible. This heroine is so self centered and makes all single women look bad. They cancelled playboy because it objectified women well this show makes us look pathetic. I would rather be objectified than become like this main character.

Excelente. presenta las crisis existenciales de personas que rondamos los cuarenta de manera sabia pero también muy divertida con todo ese tinte de cambio espiritual de principio de milenio que algunos intentamos en verdad mantener aunque el mundo siga dandonos bofetadas a cada rato para que nos rindamos. Fascinating show! All the actors are wonderful. The sets and clothes are perfect. It is not smarmy, because Laura Dern manages to pull it off and pull back at the right moment. This might be a chick show but men should watch it too as all the male characters have their own interesting personalities and flaws. Everyone is flawed in some way that makes the interaction between them so interesting. Not predictable.
