Great moment for the French. I remember watching this on a Sunday morning in my apartment in what I believe was late November. I was a big Agassi fan, and didn't really like Sampras so much. So I was rootin for Forget.

59 years we stand. I was 12 years old in 1991, I was a fan of Stefan Edberg but our victory in Davis Cup is probably my best remember. I remember french TV commentator, JP Loth (former french captain) said on match point "It's over !!!!!!!!!!"
It may seem excessive in the celebration etc...but before this win, it had been almost a century since we had won nothing!!!! Plus, all these players had always been described as promissing but where very low at this point and well, it was the Yannick Noah effect as well. He's an intense person.
I remember this match -- it was great. I felt like a bit of a traitor but I wanted the French to win! The Americans were too cocky! And Noah was one fine thing back then!

In my reminders I see Agassi crying with the finalist trophy, and I was persuaded to see Noah jumping over the net. Great moment of my early youth...
I had watched two others french victory in Davis Cup, but anyone wasn't powerfully emotional as this one.
