    "/food/cooking/best-linzer-cookies"

  • The exact ingredients can be found to the right of each slideshow image for this recipe on GH's website but they won't let me post the url here. It says: 2 cups pecans, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 3 sticks softened butter, 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 3/4 teaspoon salt, 1 large egg, 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar (to sprinkle on top), fruit jam. Makes 4 dozen!

  • do I have to put the pecans in? someone help me@!! thanks

  • this is soooo coollll

  • 8 oz is around 1 cup not 2 cups, smart ones.

  • Google Kaiser Linzer Cookie Cutter & you can purchase one of these gizmo's. I have mine here from Sur La Table - it cost 6 bucks. I had to figure it out. It has a few pieces. The fluted cutter which fits inside the plain round cutter ~ then there's this middle piece that punches your holes or designs out with a spring loaded thingy. To make the plain fluted cookies you squeeze the metal sides and it will fall out leaving 2 cutters - plain and fluted. Then you put it back together - & punch

  • hi I would like to know whats the brand name of the cookie cutter with one side plain circle and the other side ridged. or from where I can buy from thanks

  • I followed the recipe word for word but my dough is still a little soft. Any suggestions? Or will the 5 hours of cooling be enough to toughen it up?

  • interesting, im gonna make this for christmas. but i dont know about the pecans, i really dont like them. XP

  • 3 sticks of butter ????

  • cooool x

  • look like old people skin

  • fuckk that i would of ate them right after i was done with the jelly lmao i cant wait 3 months

  • lmfaooo...i know i was like 3 months?! hot damn!!!

  • It's not that, you CAN refrigiate them up that long, but you don't have to, you can eat them right after you are done, that's my understanding

  • @xxxm3miguelxxx it doesn't say you have to wait 3 months. it says you can store it for up to two months in a freezer.

  • could u use something other than pecans? is that necessary or optional?

  • i've used peanuts before with this. i used about 2 cups of those though because they're small and they grind easier, my friend used walnuts as well and cashews after that so i think it could work with any kind of nuts

  • i so want to it them send the recipie i loove them they look good yum

  • salted or unslated butter

  • You should always assume unsalted, it has a slightly different consistency that's better for cooking. I've also never seen a cookie recipe call for salted butter

  • @watermelonquack Yes, this recipe obviously calls for unsalted butter since your adding salt. It is untrue that all cookie recipes call for unsalted butter. The reason unsalted butter is popular is the ability to control salt added to the recipe.

  • thanks for the recipe!

  • why need to froze the mixture? thanks

  • because if u dont, the dough will be too sticky and hard to work with.

  • i made some

  • I made the recipe ingredients. so it would be easier to understand what u need.

    1. 350g Butter (soft)

    2. 200g Sugar

    3. 400g Flour

    4. 1 Large egg / or 2 small eggs

This is it :) i hope its easier for you to get the correct ammount of the ingredients.

  • thanks ..

but i think you forgot something ;)

  • Thanks for sharing: )

  • first time in life i see a fahrenheit-turning knob!

    so cool!

the original is named 'linzer augen' - 'linzer eyes'

and the original recipe contents jam of apricot.

    ;-)

  • i used to have one like that...

  • I love linzer cookies

  • Four dozen cookies!?

Now that's what I call a healthy recipe!

  • LOL

  • Wow! That was cool.
