Now, its about over hyped drama, stupid scripted lines, and unrealistic emotion--all for your "entertainment". And how some of you actually believe that this is real is beyond me! dude, this show is not canceled. the UK's eliminator i believe is just a little easier than the US for a few reasons. first, the cargo net is much smaller. secondly, the barrel roll (cotton reels) in the US requires you to hold on while in the UK, you don't have to hold on (no handles make that convenient). . the rope is there (i believe) to make contenders believe that they need it to reach the top, so the contender instead of running, decides to dive for the rope to pull him/her self up

Adrenaline is definitely a huge factor, but it doesn't always pack enough punch. Your muscles reach a point where simple things become extremely difficult. Keep in mind that they do a lot of stuff in one episode. And either way, it's entertaining!

i think you're over analyzing this. if you lean to far forward while climbing this you lose your balance and fall, yes you could fall forward but your feet are moving backwards. your feet give way and then poof! you're on your way back down because without solid footing (and a moving treadmill is not solid) you can't fall forward easily.

Ok by the time you get to the travelator, your legs are jell-o. At work, in the employee parking, its on a slope and its like walking up a hill, and it can wear you out even halfway up. Also, those guys were competing against men and women much bigger than them, betting banged up, and then you do the eliminator, thats very tough. Also I have done one of those wall climbs, thats tough for someone who isnt use to it like Rocket is on the show know cause hes a pro at it. You are the real fake

I can't believe people actually think this show ISN'T rigged. The show is purely for entertainment, not competition. You can obviously see that they throw the rope in order to allow the other contender to catch up. Keeping in mind that it's entertainment, things even up near the end, sort of like the climax of a film. Then, one contender, who apparently couldn't hold onto the rope eight times prior, can now pull his way up the belt at a rapid pace. Let's not pretend it's real effort.

The music is placed after the entire footage is filmed/edited. Of course they're going to put dramatic music because it's a dramatic moment. As a composer/music director, you would be fired if it isn't there.
As for the travelator (or however you spell it), I have seen that thing destroy many people on the eliminator, both the old and new show. Our Blue Hero happened to attack it correctly, moving her feet the entire way up, continuing her motion forward.

Why would they rig it? They have no reason to. And besides, maybe Koya (red) just got out to a great start but couldn't find it in her to get up the travelator. And Venus, who fell behind, persevered and had just a little bit more energy left.
Seriously man, people sucking at something really difficult is not proof that it's rigged. And everyone falls backwards because, if you look, the rope and travelator do not go all the way to the top. To be able to continue using the rope when you're near the top, you have to lean forward, putting your feet behind you, which makes it incredibly easy for them to slip out from under you. They designed the thing to be evil like that.

How do you rig something like this? You pay stunt men (actors) whose job is making action scenes look good. Hire a buncha washed up body builders/D3 college athletes as "gladiators". tell 'em make it close and THAT'S how you rig a competition.

The ramp is pretty tough. Some of the contendors really didn't know how to get up the thing, or get past the end where the rope is tied level with the platform. The woman in blue at the first half knew how, the woman in red did not. Simple as that.
As for the first woman throwing the rope, it makes sense that she would just give up on that attempt and try to get further up the ramp on another attempt. It would be better than dangling there, just hanging on getting no where.
Like animecatcher said, the ramp is tilted and moving backwards. So they tend to just flop down where they are.
If you really look, the reason the red and blue man got up is because the travelaitor was slowed down a lot for them. At that time, they weren't going to have good running times anyway.

I'm started to agree with this. On tonight's episode with the Def Guy, Toa totally gave him the win in Tilt. He even had a smile on his face while he did a nice flip into the pool. And on Hang Tough, the Def Guy took off and Zen didn't even leave the starting line until he was half-way around the track. Plus, Seriously, look at some of the competitors compared to the Gladiators. It's an impossible match up. Gina Carano on Joust? Of course she's not going to lose, she a mixed Martial Artists.
I have to agree as I watch american gladiator and I believe it is totally rigged. Tonight they gave the strong buff guy a 12 second lead and he was squashing the eliminator until the end when he acted like he couldn't get up the conveyor belt thing...it was so staged it isn't funny.....every episode is staged...it's really just gotten really bad. Adrenaline is definitely a huge factor, but it doesn't always pack enough punch. Your muscles reach a point where simple things become extremely difficult. Keep in mind that they do a lot of stuff in one episode. And either way, it's entertaining!

In british gladiators there is no rope, and all this falling over and not reaching the top when youre about 1 millimeter away from it just looks crap. All drama and no real competition. i think you're over analyzing this. if you lean to far forward while climbing this you lose your balance and fall, yes you could fall forward but your feet are moving backwards. your feet give way and then poof! you're on your way back down because without solid footing (and a moving treadmill is not solid) you can't fall forward easily.

Ok by the time you get to the travelator, your legs are jell-o. At work, in the employee parking, its on a slope and its like walking up a hill, and it can wear you out even halfway up. Also, those guys were competing against men and women much bigger than them, betting banged up, and then you do the eliminator, thats very tough. Also I have done one of those wall climbs, thats tough for someone who isnt use to it like Rocket is on the show know cause hes a pro at it. You are the real fake

I can't believe people actually think this show ISN'T rigged. The show is purely for entertainment, not competition. You can obviously see that they throw the rope in order to allow the other contender to catch up. Keeping in mind that it's entertainment, things even up near the end, sort of like the climax of a film. Then, one contender, who apparently couldn't hold onto the rope eight times prior, can now pull his way up the belt at a rapid pace. Let's not pretend it's real effort.

The music is placed after the entire footage is filmed/edited. Of course they're going to put dramatic music because it's a dramatic moment. As a composer/music director, you would be fired if it isn't there.
As for the travelator (or however you spell it), I have seen that thing destroy many people on the eliminator, both the old and new show. Our Blue Hero happened to attack it correctly, moving her feet the entire way up, continuing her motion forward.

Why would they rig it? They have no reason to. And besides, maybe Koya (red) just got out to a great start but couldn't find it in her to get up the travelator. And Venus, who fell behind, persevered and had just a little bit more energy left.

Seriously man, people sucking at something really difficult is not proof that it's rigged. And everyone falls backwards because, if you look, the rope and travelator do not go all the way to the top. To be able to continue using the rope when you're near the top, you have to lean forward, putting your feet behind you, which makes it incredibly easy for them to slip out from under you. They designed the thing to be evil like that.

The ramp is pretty tough. Some of the contendors really didn't know how to get up the thing, or get past the end where the rope is tied level with the platform. The woman in blue at the first half knew how, the woman in red did not. Simple as that.
As for the first woman throwing the rope, it makes sense that she would just give up on that attempt and try to get further up the ramp on another attempt. It would be better than dangling there, just hanging on getting no where.

If you really look, the reason the red and blue man got up is because the travelaitor was slowed down a lot for them. At that time, they weren't going to have good running times anyway.

They do fall forward. They're on a treadmill, that means they fall forward while their feet move backward and they fall in place.
The red guy couldn't grab the rope because he stumbled every time, and if you notice, when he finally gets to the rope he has to have a foot to the side and off the treadmill.

I'm started to agree with this. On tonight's episode with the Def Guy, Toa totally gave him the win in Tilt. He even had a smile on his face while he did a nice flip into the pool. And on Hang Tough, the Def Guy took off and Zen didn't even leave the starting line until he was half-way around the track. Plus, Seriously, look at some of the competitors compared to the Gladiators. It's an impossible match up. Gina Carano on Joust? Of course she's not going to lose, she a mixed Martial Artists.

I have to agree as I watch american gladiator and I believe it is totally rigged. Tonight they gave the strong buff guy a 12 second lead and he was squashing the eliminator until the end when he acted like he couldn't get up the conveyor belt thing...it was so staged it isn't funny.....every episode is staged...it's really just gotten really bad. I want to watch the real competition not what NBC thinks is entertainment.

ya this isnt fake at all the only thing ive seen so far that was fake was that handicap guys leg, if uve ever climbed a wall scaled a 25 ft dangly net climbed up a 40 ft pyramid or even TRIED a handbike doing all this while wet (which adds more wieght to yer body making it tiresome to pull yerself around) and then ran up a 45 degree treadmill ramp ud understand why, i use to go to the skatepark all the time and its tiring just running up the ramps i cant imagine if it was a treadmill
