You two are a great talent...I am 58 years old and have seen the best to the worst...when music makes the hair on my neck stand up, it's a winner no matter what. I've called 'em since 1952...will check out your other work on the tube.
@clyde8her - Thanks for dropping by and for saying those positive things. Hope you enjoy our other songs, as well. All the best in the new year, Julie and Amy
Well its always good hear that artists pay respect to the great Sandy Denny and there nothing to be ashamed of becoming a Sandy Denny coverband, since North
America doesnt know Sandy's work too well, get to work!!!!...make it your mission......LOL!!!!!!!!..youre on top of it!!!!
This sends shivers up my spine - absolutely gorgeous. I agree that this is definitely on a level with Sandy's original version - beautiful with the violin, two very fine voices and a perfect guitar accompaniment.
So I say to myself this has Celtic roots and reminds me of something from the olden days like from Fairport Convention. So I search here for some of my favorites "Matty Groves" and Who knows where the time goes" to compare and Lo and Behold... Sandy Denny at the heart of their best days. DOH! (no clue) This is a gift to be able to capture the dynamics of this Genre like you two were there! I am envious of you.. I connect easily to these hauntingly soothing pieces. SUPERB! White Bird next maybe?
Geeze Amy ...you just blow me away ... is Julie your sister? Very haunting and soulful .... no way this ole boy fromTexas would have ever heard this if it wasn't for you ..... See you are enlighting the world ....
@ax1sg - Hi, Davido. Sister-in-law Julie here. Thanks for stopping by and your very kind comments about the song. We were joking about becoming a Sandy Denny cover band, the only problem being that not enough North Americans know of her and her songwriting. Glad you enjoyed our version. Julie
Now this is absolutely wonderful and a beautiful video to accompany this haunting classic by Sandy. I love the addition of the violin; it really adds an extra layer of emotional depth to the song. I may actually prefer this version to Sandy’s original and that is probably the highest praise I can give. You’re both been blessed with wonderful voices and musical talent.
@GeorgeLupine3 - Wow, thank you very much for that high praise, indeed! We both love Sandy, so it is truly appreciated. Amy made a beautiful video to accompany us, so my thanks to my partner as well.
Hauntingly beautiful; I love the opening chord progression. Julie - you're voice is lovely. Sweet harmonies AMY! The violin is breathtaking. Brilliant performance ladies!
Spectacular.
