  • Весь этот концерт чудесный!!!

  • a wonderful ballad, one of the best ever! the original of the 70ies was not playend on hammond b 3 but on hammond m 100, the sound ist nearly same.

  • Genial !!!!!!!!!!

  • muito bom

  • white shade was such a classic....

  • When you have a band that clicks for even 1 song, how is it that they either break-up or cannot produce another great hit?

  • wow, the drummer is 2 . i'd love to jam with this people.. only in my dreams. dreams are more colorful. :

  • YES, a top 10 fav of mine from that summer of love 1967. I have to agree, from a musical point, that horn is wayyyyyyyyyy out of place here. When he tried to dupe the hammond lead-it grated my eardrums. God, it sounds a little like a lead Kazooo.

Did the guy think this was a jazz improve song or was he trying to get the 'snake to rise' out of some off camera basket ! I met Gary & the group in fall of '68-they were main act & Sly & the Family Stone opened for them in PSYCHEDELIC Supermarket(

  • Gary Brooker ..... right up there with Brahms, Bach and Beethoven....

This specific song ... with Frank Mead on soprano sax ..was nothing short of brilliant! Creative artists and musicians alike ....share in this rendition of excellence. Hats off to you Frank Mead ...

  • Yeah well outta tune that clarinet thing!! Shoot him someone!!! ;-)

  • That wind instrument (clarinet?) spoils the whole song - bloody irritating!

  • that little boxy organ made that song, takes you back in time, of being so young and free and pure love!!!!

  • how can you describe this song with only one word? wonderfull

  • Awesome. I loved it.

  • Gary may be older; but he still sounds great. Life's ups and downs have added a measure of truth to this rendition; excellant.

  • what a solo on 3:50

  • There are some songs that you really can't mess around with the original arrangement, and this is one. Yes they are all great musicians but this is not a patch on what it should sound like. Check out the vid of them live at "union chapel" - that's what it should sound like !

  • I can't speak English well but I am in love when I hear that song!!!!!

I love you,Mr Gary Brooker! I wish you health and love!

  • @1001gemini Sounds to me like you speak english quite well. At least better than 95% of people who post on youtube.

  • Possibly not a good idea to double the Organ line, though...

  • A great version, although when the sax entered, I though a baby was crying, but the great Frank Mead reedemed himself with a wonderful solo! [ Yes, I realize how difficult it is to intone a soprano sax...]

  • Probably already been said, but that's Mike Rutherford of Genesis on guitar....

  • JUST FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually I think that's Paul Carrack on the organ.

  • TERRIBLE SONG AND VOICE

  • @YOU2UUB Terrible song? I'd say the only thing bad about the performance was the soprano sax that was too loud. Gary's still a good singer after all these years.

  • @YOU2UUB Let me know which planet you're on, I'll make sure to avoid it.

  • this brings tears, what awesome memories, thank you gentlemen, rev.

  • bravo. excellent sound and video quality too.

  • Call me a sentimental old fool with an inability to move on......? but!! the icing on the cake would be Matthew Fisher playing the piece for the organ (arguably the song's soul) that he composed.

  • I am speechless! Respect!

  • screw the Rock and Roll hall of Fame and those that leave out bands like procol Harem, the moody Blues, Styx, Journey, Kansas and so many others, its sad, such loosers you are!

  • @sushman agreed whole heartedly. rev.

  • One of the greatest songs ever written. It has the rare quality that you can't get sick of it. In fact, the more you listen to it, the more you like it. For decades.

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • Yesterday, I watched this concert (Eric Clapton & Friends) on TV - this is one of my favorite rock song, beautiful!!! Actually, my sister used to listen so I did. Got me tearful and made me feel so nostalgic.

  • @chlng755 you're 35 . how old is your sister?

  • Comment removed

  • Gary Brooker is expected to show up at some time during the current Paul McCartney tour and perform this song with Sir Paul's band.....

  • @mclearyb where is mathew fisher ?

  • @ohrofax Gary Brooker and Mathew Fisher have been argueing for years over the composition credits and royalty rights to this song. They are not what you could describe as the best of friends.

Its an unfortunate consequence following the creation of such a beautiful song

  • @cornishhh I'm glad Matthew got his money.

  • saxoofon he is still completely off! I think I hear.

  • Why 2 drums players?

  • @tigertechfifty question should be "why not 3?" :)

  • @tigertechfifty well is a good question, 1 would be enough for this song

  • @tigertechfifty / why not????????

  • BRAVO: Encore!

  • Great video I think the bass player is Joe Madden from the uptown band> Great to see Freddy Star back on stage as second drummer thanks for posting.

  • hay dos bateristas porque la cancion lo requiere asi, esta escrita para dos sets de bateria pepe

  • who are the two drummers? thanks for helping me out here..

  • excellent cover!!! sounds like ray charles a bit

  • What a shame that the sax is not at all in tune with the rest of the ensemble. Otherwise, it's neat to see this song performed forty-three years later.

    But really...soprano sax...not a good idea.

  • saxofon he is still completely off! I think I hear.

  • @artonstudio yes its true, but it is nobodys fault, he is a real good player but the tonal technique is different.

  • @originalsin19 Yeah, the song does NOT need a sax/sax solo in it.

  • The first of the "Concert By The Lake " series had Eric Clapton playing a fantastic guitar solo to this very song backed by Steve Winwood on organ. Any DVD or CD of the that concert?

  • ...the best love song forever... ;-))

  • hmmmm...Does that dude on piano (at 1:05)look a bit like Paul Carrack(from Mike and the Mechanics)?

  • @dodig69 He does, yeah. Because he is. :D

  • @TomPlanteh That's way cool. Paul Carrack is so talented--I just hope if he's still (on tour)with Gary Brooker. he gets a chance to play some of his great songs too. ;-)

  • Yes it is him, and it's Mike Rutherford himself (Mike from the Mechanics) on guitar too.

  • BEAUTIFUL simply wonderful-I love this WORK :))

  • the sax sucks.

  • I can't find words for it....super fantastic....

  • fantastyczny niepowtarzalny utwór))))

  • Wow, I own this on dvd and already looks amazing, want to see the Blu-ray!

  • He should be Sir Gary Brooker only for this song.Legendary!10 out of 10

  • BEUTIFUL VERY VERY GOOD 5*****by Julita

  • so beautiful!!

  • Une voie hors norme

    La classe

  • hay canciones por las que nunca pasa el tiempo y las estropea, esta es una de ellas,

  • Brings back memories of 1967, loved it then, fantastic. X

  • Fantastic....

  • What a voice, What a voice !!!! Brings back some great memories. Take that sax out of there.!!!! The sax isn't in tune !!Thanks Gary for all of the music you gave us..........
