  • Just set my line up like that w/ the same exact beads but bought em @ walmart, craft section for 2 buck's you can get like strings w/120 of them, gonna try them 2mrw.used em b4 n it worked seeeing as ice fishing is @ a "pause" now due to the weather gonna try some of the streams around here,if you look around they sell bead strings that look just like trout eggs (dark red) and salmon eggs(lighter pinkish orange)

  • Work's like a f'n charm bro....leave em on all the time 4 the heck of it n seem's 2 bring better 4tune haha.......kinda suck's cuz you're depth is permanent but oh well they hit much better if you always use a slip rig like I do n add this "feature" haha miss ya bro! fafafafafreezin here! waters iffy! but where there's a pool there's a way! haha

  • what do you mean w/ the"clear plastic sleave's" on the bobber?...I either make my own string bobber stop's or use a "clear plastic"piece of air hose from a fish tank air pump...couldn't really see n was wondering if it was the same thing! ...awesome idea though n it has worked for me! I use'd the plastic(small n medium) pink bead's ya buy (above the "don't"glow in the dark bobber stop's @ walmart) and it worked!...where I live small rainbow's n creek chub's...thanx man!

  • @gregoir hey whats up man.

the plastic sleeves that come with the floats is pretty much the same as cut pieces of plastic air hose -

  • what r the split shots for

  • @tinkerballs123 extra weight to get down in the strike zone quick

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE ok thank you

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE OK, thank you.

  • Will a size 12 hook catch salmon and steelhead?

  • @niggahigganum2 we use even smaller hooks at times for the trout and salmon

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE When i went up to Pulaski to go for salmon trout and steelhead i saw a guy who use circle hooks only. Have you ever used them?

  • @niggahigganum2 not for trout - can't set the hook with circle hooks - got to basically let the fish pull and hook themselves - not good for the light bites

  • What time of the year is this effective,

  • @niggahigganum2 its most effective when trout or salmon are spawning - october thru april

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE What rivers have you had success with the beads? And will this work on Oswego river and salmon river? Thanks for the help.

  • @niggahigganum2 we used them on a few of the western lake ontario tribs mainly when the water gets real clear. should work great on oswego and salmon rivers

  • Hey Road snake beautiful video....Just moved up to Alaska from FL this is my first fishing season up here. I am gonna use this set up, I'll let you know how it works...Also good point about the stockers cause I'm gonna do some lake fishin too

    Thanks alot.......so excited!!!!

  • I tried trout beads out last weekend. Water was extremely low and clear but I managed one real BIG one. Do you find that the trout hit this bait and spit it almost immediately, because I'd think it would seem unnatural to a fish.

    Thanks, Andrew

  • @andrewh4 i think they just try to swallow eggs whole so they never notice its plastic til its too late

  • I love that sound 5:36 and 5:52 and 6:27 he want quit

  • hey man i showed my dad this vid and hes already gone out got the clear floats and bought the beads well try em feb. 22 then ill let ya know how they work

    thanks!

  • Flossin with a float, eh? lol jk... we get that all the time when drift fishing beads for steelies below salmon redds. Great video will have to try em below a float too!

  • ive just recently tried this with the bead knot, ive been finding i get ALOT of break offs right where my bead is.. any thoughts?

    beads do work. wow.

  • they say the bead knot reduces the line strength 10 percent - i use 6lb fluorocarbon leader -might be better off pegging the bead instead

  • does this work for stocked trout

  • I THINK ITS MORE FOR MIGRATORY TROUT & SALMON that are feeding on eggs of actively spawning fish - i think your still better off with power bait ,corn, worms and minnows for stockers

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE I have bought many of these trout bead colors and I am going to Colorado March25 and coming back April4 i will let you know how they work.......

  • Am I ever glad I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing very valuable information.

  • You have the best videos on YouTube! Thanks for all your hard work to get these out.

  • were they 6 mm eggs

  • i believe they were 6mm

  • Any favorite colors? I used these last weekend. Tried a red-orange color which worked well but also used a translucent pink color that didnt produce at all.

  • i only used the natural orange so far - i got to try the mottled whitish colors that represent eggs that been in the water a few days

  • Cool thanks. Im definately gonna try using these a little more in the future.
