Transformers 2 was terrible. The "big dumb action movie" defense is lame as hell. A movie can have great special effects, humor, action, romance and still respect plot and character development. Iron Man and the Dark Knight did. I guess I've seen so many explosions and tits that they don't impress me any more (unless they are in person). Besides; if i have internet, I can see explosions and tits any time i want to and i won't get ripped off at the concession stand.

Why is everyone coming down on Transformer like it wasn't based on a cartoon? I didn't see anyone being this critical of ninja turtles. Look at the source material. Go watch the cartoon. The movie was good for what it had too come from. I think Michael Bay did such a good job of making Transformers realistic that all the fans and critics started judging it like it was supposed to be Forrest Gump, or Titanic or something.

Transformers 2 was terrible, the visual effects just looked wrong (like they werent really there) and the fight scenes were incomprehensible, with random spiky metallic robolimbs just flailing around. why was it so hard to make the transformers just look like the cartoon characters, instead of fucked up spiking metallic lumps that didnt look like anything. it makes me so depressed, cuz theres so much potential for effective mindless fun, yet it just HAD to be headache indusing and stupid.
