The move by Warner Bros. to produce only Blu-ray movies is already beginning to push HD DVD out of stores, says a report from Video Business. Several retail chain owners, including Trans World Entertainment and Video Buyers Group, have revealed that they will either emphasize or introduce Blu-ray in their stores in response to the larger library of movies that will be available for the format.

I am actually glad to see a Sony format become the standard. Beta, Minidisk and UMD were all major failures. I still am a supporter of HD-DVD even though I own both formats.

Too late for this. HD DVD is pretty much done for this year. Only 2 big movie studios are backing it up, while Blu-ray has the rest.

Yeah, this argument is unfortunately most likely over. I was an HD DVD backer. But for some reason the fact that I was renting them every once in a while didn't seem to tip the scale. XD

Once you've watched hi-def, you never want to watch anything else. I was basically for HD DVD, because Sony is behind Bloo-Jay, and then even more so when the players came out cheaper. I think the studios are going Blu probably because they think Sony will maintain copy protection better. Yeah, Sony is so great at that.

i use to like HDDVD and taught sony would do bad cause of their format history...but sony got it right this time

1.Big multimedia company (cant go into detail since dont have room)

2.Win over Studios (almost forcing people to buy your product)

3.Put it into peoples hand via PS3...sony used it to get their format out there

....it worked because the PS3 was cheaper than a blu-ray player and because Sony knew they had diehard fanboys and easily manipulated users
