J'ai une discothèque de 2 à 3 milles vinyls que des 30 cm, des chansons depuis 1898 ( des repiquages de vieux roiuleaux, et des disque en terre de sienne) jusqu'aux succés de 1980-85; Par la suite je trouvais les musiques trop dégueulasses. J'ignore qui un jour pourra profiter de ce patrimoine.

Voix inoubliable. Bretonne d'origine, elle était trés Marseillaise. Si elle voyait son vieux port aujourd"hui, abandonné aux mains des sauvages. Berthe qui s'éteignait juste avant que je vis le jour, mais Berthe que je connais par le biais des parents qui n'avaient de cesse de fredonner ses chansons. Chansons que je connais encore aujourd'hui par coeur parcequ'elles sont une véritable poésie. Poésie, culture française d'un autre temps ! Quel gâchis de nos jours!

The song happened in Argentina --BUT they speak a different type of Spanish than elsewhere. Each Spanish-speaking nation has its own way to speak thy language. Like the nice French lady pointed out,different types of French spoken.

I DON'T think she is from Texas. WE have a different Spanish dialect. This comes close to the Castillian Spanish that they talk in Spain.

No this singer had a typical Parisian accent, but in her time 1930. 1945.

Now this accent is lost for in Paris peoples are mixed and many strangers have mixed their accent . You see this l know for l was a girl in France when she was singing. My mother a pure French used to sing her songs.

This indeed is very close to operetta style, for which Sylva's voice is very suitable. Yet she sang above all popular and film songs.

Lovely. What a great voice. Altogether, it sounds to me (partly because of her voice) like an operetta aria. Thanks for the lyrics, they help to understand the exotic mood.( And, hey, what's that gaucho of the pampas doing in Texas? :))
