If you pick the lock to hard, it can damage parts of the lock and bust it, meaning that the key won't open it, you can twist it, or your can't insert your key into the lock. So be careful.
Always a risk with Hook Picking. Good though to see the technique being used as it's often neglected these days. Like you say, perhaps a little too much tension. Happens to the best of us!
SHIT! I can't even describe how pissed of I get when I break one of my picks.I just broke my euro short hook which is the only pick that I'm able to pick my Medeco with,good thing I have a spare =D
I have spares but that 1 was my first nice homebrew pick i made, i was putting far to much pressure whilst picking neways : ( I shall learn from it tho lol : )
