  • is it possible to dual wield those?

  • @rotterdamwestispara

New to swords? There's no ryu that teaches dual weilding katana. The only way in which japanese swords are dual weilded is a katana in the right hand and a wakizashi in the left.

  • @ihaterobbie123 dual wield!

  • @ihaterobbie123

    Read Gorin No Sho.

The owner of this sword Fought with two of these. Kogarasumaru and Onimaru.

Both magnificent blades. One was broken iin a duel with shishido Baiken.

The entire principle of Niten Ichi Ryu is the use of two swords in one school.

  • @LordCinderWalk First of all the Go Rin No Sho isn't a biography, a testament to the fact YOU haven't read it as Musashi never mentions that duel.

Secondly Niten Ichi Ryu teaches the use of the Daisho, NOT two katana at once and no it's not the entire principle, not even close to it.

Please do some research instead of blurting out a fantasy you created in your head. There's enthusiasm and beyond that there's fanaticism, the latter is much less respectable.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Who the fuck do you think you are to say what i have and have not ready you dumbass arrogant piece of filth?

Secondly i doubt you do more than play worldofwarcraft. so go back to geeking it up.

The history of musashi is well documented. You're a Fool.

  • @LordCinderWalk I've practiced kendo for 5 years.

So the crux of your argument rests on the translational ambiguity of "long swords"? OK, not a strong position, but it would be arrogant of me to avoid challenging it.

I'd also like to add that nito kendo is preformed with a shinai and a shorter shinai, this was inspired by Musashi.

One more thing, I've never seen a respected master from Japan wield two katana, ever.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Ahhhh.. that's where you make your mistake. I'm not a kendokai. I'm a practitioner and teacher of Kenjutsu and Iai-do. One might use a Bokken as a student, then they learn with two. THen they transition to Iai-to.

Your videos are too formal. they bore me.

Grow up kid. Seriously. if you're ever in the vancouver area i'll gladly duel you. :D then you'll see the power and grace of the True way.

My Two Bokken Against your silly twig.

  • @LordCinderWalk I never said it was impossible, I said it's not authentic swordsmanship to use two full size swords at once and there isn't a system that teaches it.

And no, I'm not going to duel you as no self respecting martial artist would break the law for their pride, I highly doubt you teach and if so I can only express my sympathy to your students.

Also I didn't reference those videos to entertain you, however boring the evidence only a fool would look the other way.

  • @LordCinderWalk You've really got to learn to calm down, and no I don't duel you because it is illegal AND you live too far away AND I'm not going to respond to childish jibes.

I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult Kendo as I've never insulted Niten in any way. I'm just saying to you that it isn't practiced with two katana which it isn't.

Also, it is possible to defeat an opponent using two swords with one.

PS.We also swing bokuto and bokken around in case you forgot.

  • @LordCinderWalk Look, I'm up for sparring whenever it's convenient for me, but dueling is horrible.

If you've never fought someone on the street with wooden weapons then I can tell you it's not fun. There was only 1 time I ever had to defend myself when walking home from kendo (In Glasgow, at night). I got in a tsuki in and while he was choking quickly hit him on the collarbone, breaking it and flooring him. He had a cricket bat but I still felt terrible afterwards.

I train to avoid fights now.

  • @LordCinderWalk True enough, but when walking over motorway bridges there's not much you can do.

My initial thought was that he would be able to batter through my guard so I met his overhead swing with a men cut while stepping back (sending the bat into his right leg) jabbed his throat as hard as I could and then broke his collarbone.

In a dodgy area of Glasgow at night you don't take chances. There were more murders last year than in any other European city.

  • @LordCinderWalk Haha, it's certainly...no it's not clear but I get the gesture XD

No hard feelings, in the interest of fairness here's the best performance of 'sultans of swing' if you already know the song you'll like this.

  • @ihaterobbie123 Or are you too weak to use two longswords yourself, therefore declare it impossible? Like imaginary superheroes and gods and devils? Naysayers are often too proud to declare themselves at fault. SAYA NO UCHI NO KACHI. :)

  • @ihaterobbie123

The book plainly states, and i have it right here. "The use of two Long swords in one school" the book consists of five scrolls, each pertaining to an element

EARTH - the way one goes through life.

    Water - Defense

    Fire- Attack

    Wind- Tradition

The Void. That which is known but unknown.

Apparently you're just another keyboard warrior. Go home kid. Read a book.
