  • agree. Best live version ! I have this lp somewhere in the attic. On vinyl.. :;)

  • 6 live ho visto ma questa versione e la migliore

  • This is one of the best CDs or LPs from The Cure!!!

  • This is the best version with an improvised guitar at the end!! Fantastic music!! Anybody know if there is no live video for this song? I searched a lot but not found ...only others versions...

  • I HAVE this (rare) album!!!!.....and if there was one reason to buy a turntable for my collection this is it! I love this album and it captures The Cure in such an authentic way as one of the true pivotal bands of their time!

  • @Anisvazquez I have this masterpiece too! Bought it in 1984.

  • THS is it !!!!! This !!!!

  • Awesome version thanks for sharing this.

  • then music becommes art

  • It's strange to find this gem at just the time I am gearing up for one of the Reflections shows in NYC. I thought for sure this was from the Duke University show in 1989 (a 3.75 hr set with maybe 4 ? encores), but it is not. This version is absolutely amazing at any show. Thanks for the post!

  • yeessss!! its a very cool sound!! and the tempo is excellent!!

  • Agree. Much better than the other live versions. Better tempo and can hear the guitars and vocals clearer. My fav song of the cure....great imagery;-)

  • it sounds so fresh as if it were recorded last year!! very inventive and energetic!! check out the 'rock in athens version', (my personal favourite!) a version that belongs to the darker, early eighties cure. the solo guitar in that one is of a different kind, the 'faith' kind! aren't they the cure?!! i'm so addicted!!!

  • totally agree with you mate, I had this one in "cassette" lol

  • nog steeds in mijn top 10 .

zeep in 't haar, coiffure loodrecht omhoog en op ene tegel bewegen .

  • excellent, where did you find it?

  • I must agree ... way better version ever !!!

  • Great version of my all time favourite Cure song.

  • It's wonderful and similar performance with that of Concert The Cure Live LP version. The LP released 22 October 1984 and all the songs where recorded during Oxford and Hammersmith Odeon lives

  • Just realised. It was 1988 at the NEC not 85!

  • This concert had a amazing version of WHY CANT I BE YOU? as well.I remember taping this off the radio! Best version of A FOREST IVE heard too! :)

  • Why didn't the make the drab studio version more like this? One of the best live bands ever!

  • BEST PERFORMANCE FOR THIS SONG,,,

  • the best indeed

  • This is my favourite version - I had this same recording on a bootleg tape in Imperial College, London from a pal in the Midlands in the early 90's. Fantastic guitar after the vocal - my benchmark 'A Forest' for sure. I also like the version from 'Show' with its JD lines, but this still slots into first place.

  • I would disagree on the best live version...respectfully. I like the 1984 in Japan version the best so far...new to this song but not to the cure...and the way Rob does the riff in the end of the Japan show...sounds more like the sound he's going for...very curish to be sure

  • I always called this the "battling guitars" version as it sort of seems like porl and rob are competing with the riffs. Classic live version

  • Truly beautiful... this is a very good recording!

  • The very best bass ending.

  • I agree with you, Curiste23. It's a superb recording all round.

  • Wow good taste, I agree with you, 1985 Birmingham is a great, powerful recording, my fave version too I guess. Cheers, S.

  • They sound great here, one of the best versions recorded. Look at Glastonbury 1990 all songs! Love their 10:15 Saturday Night, Close To Me and everything on this one. Thanks for posting

  • for me ..the best song is concert !

  • not bad here too :)

  • A Forest is the song that express my deepest feelings when I'm sad as well when I'm happy, acts like the best drug in the world, because doesn't cause any damage, just pleasure <333

  • there's so many goog live versions of this!

    Great Song, great band!

For me the version of the kiss me tour was very, very good. with roger on second keyboard and porl on second guitar, amazinglygorgeously

  • i think my favorite is on the Play Out video live at wembley...if only he didn't pull away from the microphone at the end. the jam though at the end is fabulous. this is good though, i must agree. it's very clean sounding

  • The best version is this by the cure, listen to it, raw and not mixed. Beats these ones hands down. gqMvkqKBmq0

  • Forest from Orange is on the second place. Here there are more sound in the background

  • THE CURE - Great... A Forest. ZEE

  • I agree that the BEST version of this song was at Orange...but this is close.

  • I stil keep looking into the threes and I do not find any love!!! Love does not exists!!! It is just a pretty ilution!!!

  • totally

  • It's great.

My fave version is on Orange - some of the guitar parts he plays here, during the instrumental section, were expanded & perfected by the time they recorded Orange.

    Awesome life-changing stuff!

  • I love the guitar at 7:20-8:30

  • Without doubt the best. Should have released it. I had a blank in the tape deck and got the full gig-still got it. Only God knows what the drumer was on? Anyway Curiste23 NICE ONE!

  • great! special! I will ever love " a forest"

  • Traumhaft! Eine tolle Version. Danke fürs Einstellen und Teilen!
