  • From any circle, you could draw a diameter. And then construct a perpendicular line to it (through the center, of course) and you've got the four points on the circle for the square.

    I don't understand why you complicated the construction of square! O_o

    3,5,17,257,65537...are the fermat number

    all the fermat number-gon can be drawn by ruler and compass

    all the (fermat number x fermat number)-gon can be drawn by ruler and compass too!

    Search for 257-gono and 65537-gono on the italian version of wikipedia: youll'find my animations!

    (I must translate those articles to english, but till now didn't find the time)

  • The heptagon can't be EXACTLY drawn. Nevertheless there is a simple method that gives an error of about 1/10° on the central angle
