From any circle, you could draw a diameter. And then construct a perpendicular line to it (through the center, of course) and you've got the four points on the circle for the square.
I don't understand why you complicated the construction of square! O_o
excellent!

Great video! You should say that you are not constructing the regular polygons, but also inscribing then in a circumference.

15 and 51 is the possible polygons because of
15=5x3
51=17x3
3,5,17,257,65537...are the fermat number
all the fermat number-gon can be drawn by ruler and compass
all the (fermat number x fermat number)-gon can be drawn by ruler and compass too!

how to draw 17?
when you do the...first 'blue' in colour circle
where is the crossing point of this circle?
Mrhellotinfish 1 year ago
@Mrhellotinfish: the radius of that circle is not important, since it is used to find some angles needed to draw the fist black stright line.

this is a good video, but some polygons example 257 65537 are possible!
why dont you........oh i forgot it,these polygons are hard to draw it!
Mrhellotinfish 1 year ago
@Mrhellotinfish: I already did the 257-gon, and (only started) the 65537-gon!
Search for 257-gono and 65537-gono on the italian version of wikipedia: youll'find my animations!
(I must translate those articles to english, but till now didn't find the time)

can the polygon of 7 not be made using the classical methods?
kirbyether7 2 years ago
The heptagon can't be EXACTLY drawn. Nevertheless there is a simple method that gives an error of about 1/10° on the central angle
