I have a 2.53 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 4 Gb ram, 185 mb Intel Graphics Accelator Driver, no grahics card. I can play Medieval TW2 but I had to tune the graphics down to low and the game still lags a little, can I play Empire TW?
If you want to get better fps in M2TW go to the graphics menu and change shader to version 1 instead of version 2, this way you can turn up every other setting to high. P.S. This worked on a 1.73 GHZ mobile processor with a 251 mb intel integrated, 1 gb of ram.

Poland-Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Spain, Ottaman Empire, Maratha Confederecy (India), United Provinces (Holland), and the US once you unlock them in the alternate campaign. im pretty sure thats it.
there are other factions you can fight against in the campaign too but they are non-playable (like some of the German Confederation states). I believe one of them is Baden-Wurtteburg and another is Bavaria...?
if you play with holland on very hard its almost impossible. your trade ships in east indies get killed by pirates in the first turn, and if you attempt to take flanders u get pwnd by france and westpahlia
actually, this game is perfect for beginners in the franchise. it's really detailed and easy if you don't play on very hard with a nation that has much to do. but you get acommodated really quick

are you insane? the frist thing I do is build a navy or expand until i hit the water then start building. navys are the best way to get around and you can get all over without upsetting people.
obviously. but if you played M2:TW, you got used to relying on military, not naval power. navies were expensive and far less important in that game, so naval strategies were not as widely used. in R:TW navies were important, however. if you never played M2:TW you probably still knew the importance of a fleet. I know that navies are good transportation and trade, but they are far more important in E:TW than in the other TW games. typically i play the UP, fluyts for the win :)
I like your way in fighting off against your opponents. this may sound dumb but i think you have a few territories in india, cause i saw that you can chose in three different continents so i assumed you have something in India in the game.
no, its a theatre of war. there are three theatres of war: europe, america, and india. europe is the biggest, then america, then india. at the beginning of the game the United Provinces (Dutch) control Ceylon, or better known as Sri Lanka today. the Portugese own Goa, which is on the southwest coast. other than that, Mysore is an indigenous nation in central southern india, and the Maratha Confederacy owns two provinces in the south. the Mughal Empire has the rest of India.

i agree. its cause of us M2:TW players who got used to completely land battles and the sea being used only for transportation, not warfare. for R:TW players, navies were vital to trade, but they seemed very useless in M2:TW. So... we never really developed naval strategies as players.
same strat i use. Sometimes i take denmark since its in the middle of some of my allies (Hannover, Sweden, Prussia) to bring in some extra dough. I rely on trade to fund my armies, and i usually go for india first since its more "disconnected" from the world than America, since its not heavily colonized by European powers. Some countries are stuck in Europe, but England has the choice to do almost anything they want. :)
i see your point however your nearest enemy, poland-lithuania, is very weak militarily. they are enemies with austria, so austria will not be aggressive towards you if you take poland. i typically take western prussia and warsaw right away in the first move, then i'll hang out and let my economy build for a little while. i like prussia's style, its like hitler's blitzkrieg (not that i like hitler at all). your initial goal is to slam your opponents before they can react. hit their weak spots
yeah I'm not much of a Hitler fan at all (like to watch stuff about him like Hitler's Bodyguard) but don't forget that the Blitzkrieg only worked on open plains and stuff like that not much use in urban warfare
i suggest u attila at sea battls the following formation: cersecnt
u will put the ships in the look of cersecnt and if the enemy ships will get in the cerscent they are doomed: they are in the kill box because most of the ships could aim at them!
RL sea battles can, and have, lasted for hours at some point. Besides, in order to have a playing area big enough to accommodate 20 of your ships, I think it would have to be pretty big and drawn out to permit the player to take full advantage of the strategic and tactical element.
It's kind of fifty-fifty in my way of thinking they can shoot by themselves as long as you're next to your foe but use the broadside when they deter from the fight(run away).
Why are you recruiting militia? They serve absolutely no purpose in this game except to a) Placehold until a real unit can arrive at a city and b) to keep cities from rebelling, whereas you clearly just trained them as a fighting unit to counter a British rebellion.
Who fights the United Provinces? I mean, come on. :) Lol jk. They're my only real allies anymore in my British campaign. I have all but 12 regions in the game except for a few. I'm allowing the UP and mexico and other minors to survive, for now.
HAHA i so get ya. Britannia will rise and retake their British Isles....Like 200 years later but lelouch will avenge the french(hence I know lelouch isnt french but you know his name is french)

Yes as your towns that you own get bigger with more people and wealth more small towns emerge where you can make churches schools blacksmiths etc.

i agree. its cause of us M2:TW players who got used to completely land battles and the sea being used only for transportation, not warfare. for R:TW players, navies were vital to trade, but they seemed very useless in M2:TW. So... we never really developed naval strategies as players.

same strat i use. Sometimes i take denmark since its in the middle of some of my allies (Hannover, Sweden, Prussia) to bring in some extra dough. I rely on trade to fund my armies, and i usually go for india first since its more "disconnected" from the world than America, since its not heavily colonized by European powers. Some countries are stuck in Europe, but England has the choice to do almost anything they want. :)

Prussia is in the middle of their enemy. I believe they are the hardest faction to play with at the start though their army is formidable.

Not hard but Prussia is certainly challenging and with the many objectives you are scrambling to achieve simply makes the game that much enjoyable.
The greatest difficulty I had was when Denmark was strangling my trade and I nearly collapsed. That was hard but I managed.

i see your point however your nearest enemy, poland-lithuania, is very weak militarily. they are enemies with austria, so austria will not be aggressive towards you if you take poland. i typically take western prussia and warsaw right away in the first move, then i'll hang out and let my economy build for a little while. i like prussia's style, its like hitler's blitzkrieg (not that i like hitler at all). your initial goal is to slam your opponents before they can react. hit their weak spots

yeah I'm not much of a Hitler fan at all (like to watch stuff about him like Hitler's Bodyguard) but don't forget that the Blitzkrieg only worked on open plains and stuff like that not much use in urban warfare

well, it worked in Yugoslavia (sp?) and Greece were they were mountains, so it did not only work in open plains.

u will put the ships in the look of cersecnt and if the enemy ships will get in the cerscent they are doomed: they are in the kill box because most of the ships could aim at them!

RL sea battles can, and have, lasted for hours at some point. Besides, in order to have a playing area big enough to accommodate 20 of your ships, I think it would have to be pretty big and drawn out to permit the player to take full advantage of the strategic and tactical element.

It's kind of fifty-fifty in my way of thinking they can shoot by themselves as long as you're next to your foe but use the broadside when they deter from the fight(run away).

Why are you recruiting militia? They serve absolutely no purpose in this game except to a) Placehold until a real unit can arrive at a city and b) to keep cities from rebelling, whereas you clearly just trained them as a fighting unit to counter a British rebellion.
